December 28th, 2013 - 8:05pmI wish character building had released more new products around the anniversary…. They badly need to release a proper new wave now, some classic sets would be nice…

September 26th, 2012 - 8:21amFantastic piece of work. It’s much better than the proper set. I only wish that the real TARDIS console/control room set was bigger, then I would be able to fit more figures in it! Oh, and clever use of mixing the Lego and Character building pieces.

January 13th, 2013 - 7:05pmHi, thanks John! Just to say, I only used pieces from the official character building console room set in this. Part of the challenge!
Now will there be a new Tardis console room set released to match the new set we saw in the Xmas special!

September 1st, 2012 - 12:49pmI like this TARDIS more than the real version

August 25th, 2012 - 6:59pmDid you alter the dalek factory or cyberman conversion chamber?
Andrew I
August 25th, 2012 - 7:09pmHi Driver! How are you? I haven’t yet, but I could have a go at the Dalek factory set,which I hear is a bit fragile…
The Driver
August 25th, 2012 - 7:12pmFine thanks. It’s the conveyor belt thats quite fiddly so you have to read the instructions carefully when doing that bit. I got mine about 2 months ago and mines fine. I think they’ve improved them.

August 25th, 2012 - 5:48pmyou should really do a how to for this i’d want to make it!

August 25th, 2012 - 6:54pmHi! I’m not sure how I would do that – I could take some pics from lots of different angles, of close up sections of it? Glad you like it!

August 25th, 2012 - 7:02pmmaye make a youtube video? i’m pretty sure you’ll get alot of views!
The Driver
August 22nd, 2012 - 8:52pmYou have a very good imagination.
The Driver
August 22nd, 2012 - 8:34pmI do like the way you have tweaked it though.

August 22nd, 2012 - 8:52pmSorry, I meant very
The Driver
August 22nd, 2012 - 8:33pmYeah, I think it is a bit small. π
MadGuyInATARDIS
August 22nd, 2012 - 8:28pmIts good. And looks better than the original. I’d just say it’s too small. But I’d love to see some instructions! I realise you wont HAVE any but I would change mine into something like this if I could. For instace the stair way that goes up doesnt fit properly and it all falls apart on mine!
The Driver
August 22nd, 2012 - 8:31pmPerhaps you didn’t build it strongly enough because when building, you have to push the prices down really firmly. You could maybe use superglue to glue the peices down so they don’t break.
MadGuyInATARDIS
August 22nd, 2012 - 8:34pmI did. I’m an expert with this sort of thing. I made sure. I re-built it 5 times… its more stable now… but the stairway thing bugs me and I have made it perfectly to the manual!
The Driver
August 22nd, 2012 - 8:57pmWhy not superglue the stairs? I’ve heard it has been done before.
The Driver
August 22nd, 2012 - 9:00pmSometimes, the manual can be wrong. You could redo the stairs in a way that you think it fits.
MadGuyInATARDIS
August 22nd, 2012 - 9:00pmIts not that they fall apart… they dont fit like it shows on images… but I have made it EXACTLY as the manual has told me… I stressed out and just left it… I might make my own like he has… I cant decide…

August 22nd, 2012 - 9:06pmCharacter Building bricks should not need glue to stay together – I’m afraid they are just not quite as good as, um, another ‘compatible’ make of brick I can think of π I think Character Re-Building could catch on!! Our own versions, designs, to complement the official releases.
MadGuyInATARDIS
August 23rd, 2012 - 1:49pmThey do have better peices though, than the err… ‘alternative’ like the peices with the bits you connect them with on both sides, LEG- I mean ‘the other one’ doesnt have. π
The Driver
August 22nd, 2012 - 8:15pmIs this what you were talking about when you mentioned doing original series packaging?
Andrew Ireland
August 22nd, 2012 - 8:19pmHi. Well – this was my attempt at making my own version of the Matt Smith console room using just the pieces you get in the Mega Console Room Set – I wanted to set myself a challenge of making a more sturdy console room with opening police box doors π
I’m currently working on some ‘classic’ series character vignettes to complement the classic Doctors released by CB… for those, I’d be keen to mock up original series packages too.
The Driver
August 22nd, 2012 - 8:29pmDid the original keep falling apart? Oh and, I’ve put some things for you to read in the comments on my collection page.
