I wish character building had released more new products around the anniversary…. They badly need to release a proper new wave now, some classic sets would be nice…

Fantastic piece of work. It’s much better than the proper set. I only wish that the real TARDIS console/control room set was bigger, then I would be able to fit more figures in it! Oh, and clever use of mixing the Lego and Character building pieces.

Hi, thanks John! Just to say, I only used pieces from the official character building console room set in this. Part of the challenge!

Now will there be a new Tardis console room set released to match the new set we saw in the Xmas special!

Did you alter the dalek factory or cyberman conversion chamber?

Hi Driver! How are you? I haven’t yet, but I could have a go at the Dalek factory set, which I hear is a bit fragile…

Fine thanks. It’s the conveyor belt thats quite fiddly so you have to read the instructions carefully when doing that bit. I got mine about 2 months ago and mines fine. I think they’ve improved them.

Hi! I’m not sure how I would do that – I could take some pics from lots of different angles, of close up sections of it? Glad you like it!

Its good. And looks better than the original. I’d just say it’s too small. But I’d love to see some instructions! I realise you wont HAVE any but I would change mine into something like this if I could. For instace the stair way that goes up doesnt fit properly and it all falls apart on mine!

Perhaps you didn’t build it strongly enough because when building, you have to push the prices down really firmly. You could maybe use superglue to glue the peices down so they don’t break.

I did. I’m an expert with this sort of thing. I made sure. I re-built it 5 times… its more stable now… but the stairway thing bugs me and I have made it perfectly to the manual!

Why not superglue the stairs? I’ve heard it has been done before.

Sometimes, the manual can be wrong. You could redo the stairs in a way that you think it fits.

Its not that they fall apart… they dont fit like it shows on images… but I have made it EXACTLY as the manual has told me… I stressed out and just left it… I might make my own like he has… I cant decide…

Character Building bricks should not need glue to stay together – I’m afraid they are just not quite as good as, um, another ‘compatible’ make of brick I can think of πŸ™‚ I think Character Re-Building could catch on!! Our own versions, designs, to complement the official releases.

They do have better peices though, than the err… ‘alternative’ like the peices with the bits you connect them with on both sides, LEG- I mean ‘the other one’ doesnt have. πŸ˜‰

Is this what you were talking about when you mentioned doing original series packaging?

Hi. Well – this was my attempt at making my own version of the Matt Smith console room using just the pieces you get in the Mega Console Room Set – I wanted to set myself a challenge of making a more sturdy console room with opening police box doors πŸ™‚

I’m currently working on some ‘classic’ series character vignettes to complement the classic Doctors released by CB… for those, I’d be keen to mock up original series packages too.

Did the original keep falling apart? Oh and, I’ve put some things for you to read in the comments on my collection page.
