Big Finish The War Master 4 Anti-Genesis
Available to order from www.bigfinish.com
War Master versus the Master!
It takes a Master to defeat a Master…. Sir Derek Jacobi and Mark Gatiss battle it out this December in a new four-part adventure from Big Finish Productions.
Attention people of the universe! In the final chapter of The War Master saga, the Master (played by Derek Jacobi), unleashes his most audacious plot yet – as leader of the Daleks… And it’ll take a Master from another universe (Mark Gatiss) to stop him…
The War Master: Anti-Genesis also features listeners’ favourite Narvin, played by Seán Carlsen, joining the fight against the most machiavellian Master of them all, with Nicholas Briggs as the voice of the Daleks.
- 1. From the Flames by Nicholas Briggs
- 2. The Master’s Dalek Plan by Alan Barnes
- 3. Shockwave by Alan Barnes
- 4. He Who Wins by Nicholas Briggs
In the Time War there is a crime that not even the Daleks would dare consider. But the Master has more than considered – he is ready to commit…
Writer and co-script editor of this box set, Nicholas Briggs, told us more, “When producer/director Scott Handcock and I came up with the idea of there being an ‘alternative universe’ Master in the fourth War Master box set, we were very excited. We had it in mind that if Mark Gatiss really wasn’t available that we could, in theory and desperation, invent another ‘alternative universe’ Master — but we were really hoping for Mark. And the fact that Mark could make the recording dates makes me very happy indeed. The whole relationship between Derek Jacobi’s War Master and Mark’s Master is an intriguing one that gives many opportunities for stand-out performances from these great actors.”
The War Master: Anti-Genesis is available for pre-order now at £22.99 on CD or £19.99 on download.
The first two series in The War Master range – Only the Good and The Master of Callous – are available from Big Finish Productions at £34.99 on CD or £29.99 on download. The third series, Rage of the Time Lords, is available at £22.99 on CD or £19.99 on download until the end of September. Or why not save money and get a bundle of all four series at just £90 on CD or £80 on download.

January 10th, 2019 - 5:37pmJust from the title, I have a feeling that this has something to do with Genesis of the Daleks, and that the Master might go back in time to alter the Daleks’ development in some way…

Hey Nonny Mouse
September 17th, 2019 - 5:13pmI couldn’t agree more about Briggs and Barnes. Two dreadful writers who’ve been doing the same substandard stuff for far too long. As JNT used to say – they’re “Who’d out”!

September 18th, 2019 - 5:47pmSome of it is really good, just most of it is okay. Briggs gave a few of the better early BFs and Dark eyes. Barnes is dreadful and should just script edit in my opnion Barnes has just gotten worse, his Galifrey and his first 5 main ranges were good mind.

January 8th, 2019 - 10:43pmIs this the planned 4th series of The War Master series or something else? I know the one where he goes up against the 8th Doctor is #3 in the series but is this #4?
Either way I really need to listen to these and the 8th Doctor Time War prequel series. Listening to John Hurt as The War Doctor for twelve episodes was my first venture into Big Finish audios and it was absolutely incredible. I wish he was still around to do more. He became my favorite Doctor through his episodes! Makes me wonder if they re-used some of his stories and modified them a bit for The War Master.

January 8th, 2019 - 3:56pmDoes the “new daleks” chapter constitute a genesis of the bronze dalek design?
Someone please get the elephant in the room dealt with!

September 18th, 2019 - 1:47amI’ve always wandered that myself, was it a gradual devlopment a la “Dalek chronicles echoes of war” from renegade 80’s dalek to making themselves more heavy set and more reminiscent of the time war daleks or was it a new paradigm situation?
