Dr Who Figurine Collection 11th Dr & Amy Companion Set 1

Take part in Doctor Who’s next adventure with the all-new Doctor Who Companions Set from the Doctor Who Figurine Collection.

First up, it’s Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) with the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith). The Doctor Who figurines are carefully produced in 1:21 scale, and cast in a specially formulated metallic resin before being painted by hand and individually numbered. Amy and the 11th Doctor are based on their look and wardrobe from the New York City-based adventure ‘The Angels Take Manhattan’, the final regular appearance of Amy Pond in Doctor Who.

The 11th Doctor & Amy Pond Figurine Set comes with a 20-page magazine looking at the companion’s development in the long-running show, with behind-the-scenes info on the relevant story’s production.

Any Doctor Who fan would be mad not to put these in their collection.

Nope…I was just about to ask the same question. I do remember Toys R Us email alerts were a bit flakey too. Sometimes I got them, other times I didnt.

Requiring £5 Next Day delivery, without giving the option for cheaper delivery is a joke. I’ll wait until they make more sets and then order them all at once, to get the £50+ free delivery.

But if I wait for more sets to be made and order them all at once, and assuming there is a similar discount code available, then I’ll be able to qualify for free delivery AND save 15%.

Ordered at 6am. Not impressed that they force you into £5 DPD delivery both because of the cost and the fact that I won’t be in for it and the depot is a 40 minute drive from me. Did use the FACEBOOK 15 code though to save £3.

Just preordered but for some reason due to changing an old adress as booked order to different adress further down the road. The bloke who i called at Eaglemoss said all their deliveries are now through DPD, so fortunately will recieve a text before delivery unlike before when you had no idea when these items would show up.

I’m going to wait for in-hand photos too, as I’ll only get this one if they look great, since I’m not a fan of the 11th Doc and will only get another figurine of him if it’s worth it in my opinon.

I cancelled my subscription months ago, but I’m thrilled that they’re finally doing the sensible thing after 5 years, and finally making companion figurines. I think I’ll probably buy this set. But seriously, I always thought it was a joke how rigidly they refused to do companions for the longest time. As far as I’m concerned, companions are an integral part of Doctor Who, and you can’t have a complete figurine collections without companions. Glad they’ve finally seen sense.

problem is there are a lot for and against, and a lot of Doctor/companion buyers who wouldn’t want to subscribe and would want to pick and choose

Its not going to suit everyone but probably the most viable option to get these to market.

    • Doctor Stu

      July 19th, 2018 - 12:55pm

To be honest looking back at it now I realize I’m paying for figurines in the main collection that I may not particularly want so a couple of one off payments for the companion series won’t hurt as the price isn’t as high as I was expecting it to be. A couple of 9-10th doctor companions and 11-12th companions and obviously Sarah Jane will be all ill be getting. Do we know if these are the same size as the regular figurines or are they bigger

    • Anonymous

      July 19th, 2018 - 2:26pm

1:21 scale, same as the main collection.

    • Doctor Stu

      July 19th, 2018 - 3:11pm

Yes thanks I just found out, that’s made me more likely to buy a couple of these. I just hope it’s not say eleventh Doctor with Amy, eleventh Doctor with Rory and then eleventh with riversong because that will irke me at a £20 price if they’re going to dish out multiples of the doctors. They should release a new ninth doctor with Rose for example and then perhaps a mickey alongside captain jack. Rather than 9 with Rose, 9 with Mickey and 9 with Harkness

    • Anonymous

      July 19th, 2018 - 3:43pm

They are waiting to see how financially viable the collection is before doing anything with just companions. They know the Doctors sell so it’s a safe bet keeping them in the sets at least at the start.

    • Alvin

      July 19th, 2018 - 5:56pm

I’m glad Eaglemoss have chosen to release companions in the Collections shop rather than sell them in the regular range. At least this way I don’t feel forced into buying something that doesn’t interest me too much, its bad enough having to buy some of the nu-Who figurines that I could have happily skipped if I was cherry picking.

This way its a win-win for Eaglemoss as I’ll be able to choose the companions that I do want.

I must say I’m very impressed with the sculpts of 11th Doctor and Amy, the figurines actually do look like Matt Smith and Karen Gillam, I’ll definately be ordering them when they hit the shop

    A few updates on Twitter:

The first few sets are already planned out and will be announced over the coming months.

These should follow a regular schedule, possibly one set a month.

Currently they only have plans for Doctor/companion sets, but that may change depending on sales figures.

There will be classic sets (possibly Sarah Jane Smith if one hint is to be believed, may have been a joke though)

They’ve also got the go ahead for the Console series, which will start later this year as well.

Hopefully they’ll pair the main companions with the Doctor and do the rest with another companion from the same episode

So like for example what I mean:
9th Doctor & Rose from End of the World
Captain Jack & Mickey from Boom Town
    10th Doctor & Martha from 42
Donna & Wilf from The Poison Sky
Rory & River from The Pandorica Opens
