Two alien seed pods are found buried in the Antarctic permafrost and the Doctor realises that they are from a Krynoid, a form of plant life that infects and transforms all animal life on planets upon which it becomes established.

One of the pods infects a scientist at an Antarctic base but the developing Krynoid is destroyed by a bomb set by two men, Scorby and Keeler, who have made off with the other pod for their boss, eccentric plant collector Harrison Chase.

Due for release on 25/10/2010

seedsdoomvhsFrom the original VHS release…

“…the size of St Paul’s Cathedral. After that it will multiply itself a thousand fold until it takes over your entire planet.”

20th Century Earth. A research team based in the Antarctic unwittingly digs up two mysterious pods which have laid buried in the snow for twenty thousand years.
Yet the identity of the pods is no mystery to the Doctor.

That they are Krynoid – a hostile, alien species of plant life, there can be no doubt. And his fears are confirmed when one of the pods opens and attacks a scientist.

Unfortunately, the Doctor is not the only one interested in the seeds – an insane millionaire, Harrison Chase, is desperate to get his hands on a pod at any cost – even murder. But why? Events spiral out of control as the remaining pod reaches England, splitting open to reveal a ferocious Krynoid carnivore. Can the Doctor arrest its development? For, as its strength grows every moment, it threatens to turn Earth’s vegetation hostile too. Its germination could jeopardise the security of mankind itself…

Originally transmitted 31 January – 6 March 1976, this six part adventure is a welcome addition to the Doctor Who range.

fantastic story, gripping edge of seat stuff with gritty villains and a action doctor, yes krynoids do look like axon’s at one stage but full size krynoid is impressive.

The krynoid costumes are the same as the axon costumes just painted green.

Posted by Callum Metcalfe“Ambassoders of Death which looks BRILLIANT! would love it to be released in 2011 a well as Planet of Spiders,Terror Of The Autons,Dragonfire,The Greatest Show in the Galaxy,The Krotons and Terror of the Zygons”Well, TOTZ is a very unethical episode in the serieses history, and incredibley flawed and somewhat not a story you could enjoy or get into, believe me. But when theres a DVD release of more 7th Doctor episodes, you can guarantee Ill be getting: Dragonfire (I call it Absolute Zero) and not the Paridisetowers.

Awelcome addition? We Whovians have waited for and anticipated a DVD release of this, um (was I supposed to be getting somewhere?) – ALOT! :???:
But it is brilliant. How do I know? The same way I know that any Dr Who episode is one not to miss! The first time I decided to learn of it was on Youtube and someone put a comment saying it was, ughh, classic Sci Fi or a Classic tale or that it was priceless, brilliant classic stuff.
Me? Well frankly, Im an observant kind of guy. Any Dr Who episode that stands out, doesnt make it the best.

    I love the cover

    I am sooo getting this!

-What was the point in that?! Theyve just made an excellent DVD of this cherished episode and you bought it on VHS aswell?!
AnyWHO, Im not sure about something, this story takes place in the arctic, rite? Like the story “Who goes there?” kinda setting, but yet its also at a botanists mansion, and the Krynoids ofcourse, they be merely creatures, hostile and a means of danger, a Dr Who monster that the Dr already knows all about. I hate the repainted Krynoid they made, Axon=not a Krynoid.

    what about a chat page!

It once had a forum, but it was later closed down due to space on the server. I should know I was a member (the longest running one that didn’t work on the site)

  13. Posted by: booboo September 19th, 2010 Reply

since you hardley update the news page any more

The news page is updated with the main news, we cannot deal with rumours here and i do not have the time to moderate a chat page. we are one of the very few sites on the internet that actually “creates content” like the games, figure lists, Dalek colour changer, takes all the merchandise pictures etc etc etc. We simply cant do everything
