Doctor Who 11th Doctor Purple Jacket 5.5″ Figure

Geronimo! The eleventh incarnation of the legendary Time Lord the Doctor was a man whose youthful appearance and quirky enthusiasm was often at odds with his world weary temperament. Easily bored, the Eleventh Doctor liked nothing more than travelling with his companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams in search of thrills and new adventures.

It was at times that his friends were in danger that the Eleventh Doctor would display his often frightening temper and brooding rage but he would always return eventually to his friendly ways.

I think this and Amy Pond were the only ones worth re-releasing. Would’ve been nice to see some other less common re-releases in the proper packaging too, or maybe some variants like 9th Doctor in blue jumper, 10th Doctor in grey suit and new head sculpt (no glasses) and maybe another companion like Martha (Last of the Time Lords)

I’m glad to see this one in the collectors series because it means that we can have this displayed beside our 5.5″ Twelfth Doctor regenerated figures 🙂

Very glad to see this figure being re-released at a lower price, even if we have lost all but 1 accessory. Now, I’d just love to see a re-release of Captain Jack from series 3, Jacketless 11 and a Vashta Nerada, and then I’ll be over the moon! And it’d even be good to release the figures I mentioned from a financial point of view, as they are very desired figures which many collectors missed out on.

i completely agree, I have already mentioned 2 of the 3 figures you have mentioned as better for rerelease elsewhere on here

Especially as the jacket less 11th was an SDCC exclusive. I was lucky enough to stumble across one once in fpi Belfast. Id love if they re released it and also released a blue variant of it.

and Amy, a generally popular character, a decent figure and made more accurate, though a Cold Blood variant would be better I am really happy with the Amy

My confusion is why some of the rereleased figures are in these boxes, but some in the smaller packets?

I was going to get the time of the doctor set but didn’t really want to pay £30 because alot of that cost would have came from the alternate heads and accessories, the only two of which I would have used being handles and the sonic. I will definitely purchase this as it is far more affordable and, for me, is like paying £15 less for one less accessory. All the other heads would have just ended up in a box with the mcgann head that came with the war doctor anyway.

This is half the price but missing the two alternate heads, the alternate shirt, handles and the walking stick so if you just want the basic figure buy this, if you want to wake up the neighbours with all the bells and whistles buy the other version. If you want to display both the eleventh and regenerated twelfth buy both. I will be purchasing this one as I don’t much care for post regeneration figures.

thats a shame, both Norman Harrop and Big chief have exclusive figurines. We got the Holo 10th at the Celebration before.

    • booboo

      October 27th, 2015 - 11:56am

the holo 10th had clearly already been produced for what i assume was an abandoned 10th Doctor time capsule style set (hence all the loose sonic screwdrivers as well)

was more a BBC shop exclusive than convention

Harrops and BC have very small quantities which they can easily sell any surplus afterwards

Besides an entirely convention exclusive figure would not go down well trust me

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 27th, 2015 - 11:09pm

Considering that I believe the holo 10th is still in stock at the bbc shop I doubt they will be rushing to make another one anyway.

    • TheDoctorForever

      October 27th, 2015 - 12:01pm

i guess so in this case but why the other figures? They aren’t updated and nobody was really wanting them (from looking on here) so why rerelease them? i really hope we won’t get a load of rereleases and no new figures from now on.. that would suck!

    • booboo

      October 27th, 2015 - 12:05pm

news sites and forums are full of core collectors most of whom will already have these

There are however many 1000’s more casual buyers and new fans who wont so some of the releases may appeal to them

I also think re releases are needed to subsidise the huge costs needed for new figures, capitalise on your investments!

you got to see the business side to this as well

      I’d rather 3 more 12th Doctors:
      -Black jumper (Listen)
-Black jumper and hoodie (Last Christmas)
-White t-shirt, Hoodie, and plaid trousers (The Magician’s Apprentice)

    • Cyberman Bill

      October 27th, 2015 - 2:37pm

Those are all new sculpts and would cost tons of money….. They need to sell these to make money so that they can give us new figures in the future. You have to think of the business side of things.

Are all 4 of these recent TRU releases repacking only? I know they have all been released before in different packaging but was just wondering if there are repaints (like they did with the Dalek twin packs)…I cant see from the promo shots that they have been repainted….not sure if anyone can confirm this.

There is no point. If you have the Time of the Doctor set, you know what’s coming. And for £15 its a waste because you also dont get manu accessories such as handles or the swappable heads aswell so your not getting much of a new deal here.
