The Sontaran Experiment Set – Pictures

Action Figure Set: The Sontaran Experiment

The Fourth Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith and Harry Sullivan arrive on a desolate and apparently deserted Earth to discover that a group of shipwrecked astronauts from a human colony, GalSec, have been lured there by a fake distress call!

In this great gift set we present the Classic Sontaran: Field-Major Styre and his iconic Sontaran space ship along with the Fourth Doctor in duffle coat and hat.

The set contains the Fourth Doctor in duffle coat and hat action figure with Sonic Screwdriver.Sontaran Field-Major Styre action figure with helmet and gun and Sontaran Ship.

This set can be ordered from www.forbiddenplanet.com or www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk.

Our pictures of the set – the Sontaran is superb and one of the best classic figures yet…

I was quite surprised yesterday when i looked at the classic Sontaran figure standing against a new series one, and seeing that they are not the same height, i thought they would be. Heres a link to Doctor Who Toys . Net to see the picture im refering too, might have to scroll past afew of the other pictures

Well they’ve got the height right aswell. They had three sontarens standing next to eachother at The Doctor Who Experience and the newest one is extremely small compared to the classic ones.

I am very impressed with this set, particularity The Sontaran which is superb, it would have been nice if the sphere was hollow to allow people to make there own insides may be but it looks great on display, this is my favourite set to date.

There is so much but buy its very nature the 11 Doctors set probably, favourite figures would be 3rd Doctor form 11 Doctors set, Roger Delgado figure and the new Sontaran.

Occassionally, there are occassions such as this where the real, full potential of the work by CO shines through. Take a look at the face sculpt, the amount of character there is, in this Sontaran figure. 😮

Overall a great dispay of artistic expert, in a set that sure looks great. The only negative side to this is that, as toys, you cant really get anyone inside that Sontaran shuttle. Its smaller in the inside! Lets hope to some time, see alot more classic-series Sontarans, a simple repaint with a new head, and then you have Linx.

Of all the “Classic” sets, this one I quite like. While Field-Major Styre can’t sit or fit in the Sontaran Scout pod, it is an excellent likeness. Down to the pistol and the crosshatching on the eyeslits and pistol detail. The other bonus is that for a Sontaran figure it at least maintains it’s stability when standing. The newer Sontarans seem to be a pain to keep upright.

Still so cool. I drempt last nite (well, this morning actually) that Id ben bought this set, it was a delight. In that dream, I also discoverd Id been hiding the Eleven Doctors set in my wardrobe, and was quite excited to realise this because I wanted to see the 8th Doctor figure.

Can you imagine how much it crushed my spirits when that dream ended and I woke up, still too broke and busy to enjoy such items in my Dr Who figure collection ? It must have!

I suppose this is the better choice than “Resurrection” set as that is annoying with the fact’ more Dalek sculpts! Why not a Dalek trooper and Turlough. It would feel more value for money! How many dalek variants do we need, for goodness sake

Woah, great to atlong-last see some proper pictures of that set! And may I jsut say, I am blown back by how impressive the whole thing is. The Sontar-pod is huge, and well-sculpted. It loox great, the Sontaran isnt bad, infact its probably quite great. The Doctor from this set is dressed for the heavy weather of a post-sunexploded earth-climate, if you know the storyline, and overall its a bargain for 39 kippers! 😀

But you know me, 😮 Im probably still gna have to keep with my promises and get that Davros set. Just aswell.
