1st Doctor Unearthly Child Figure

School teachers Barbara Wright and Ian Chesterton become intrigued by one of their pupils, Susan Foreman, and visit her home address – a junkyard at 76 Totter’s Lane – where they meet her grandfather, the Doctor.

1stDrUnearthlypackagingThe Doctor and Susan are aliens who travel through time and space in their ship, the TARDIS, which looks like an ordinary police box but actually houses a huge gleaming control room.

The TARDIS takes them all to a Palaeolithic landscape where they encounter a tribe that has lost the secret of fire.

In this exclusive set from Underground Toys, we present the first Doctor, William Hartnell, in the costume seen in the very first episode of Doctor Who, ‘An Unearthly Child’ – complete with hat, cape and long jacket.

how much for the 1st doctor becasue i whant to collect the clasic docto who figures so how much.

  18. Posted by: ConquerorsofEarth May 21st, 2010 Reply

Why are these models/toys exclusive and overpriced? Because sad old men like me who remember the original series will guarantee these sell. I’ve pre-ordered the 7th & Tardis set just for the nostalgia factor.

  19. Posted by: booboo May 19th, 2010 Reply

I think these sold out very quickly on the Who NA website

  20. Posted by: The Whofan101 May 19th, 2010 Reply

i hope we can take the scarf off

  21. Posted by: gary May 19th, 2010 Reply

that skull is a good finishing touch. the angle the picture is taken from does make the box look a little bit empty so i sort of see why you may think it looks boring. :-D

  22. Posted by: King Ninja May 18th, 2010 Reply

Thanks BooBoo for answering my questions!

  23. Posted by: The Whofan101 May 18th, 2010 Reply

Looks great can’t wait for mine to arrive :D liking the skull!

  24. Posted by: Joe May 18th, 2010 Reply

i personally think that they should use one of the classic logo’s for the classic figures.

  25. Posted by: booboo May 18th, 2010 Reply

These would have been planed before the new logo, i don’t know if they will ever use it with classics.

The skull was part of the first story each episode had its own name then so its a bit confusing Unearthly child was the name of the first episode the second was called The Cave of Skulls

  26. Posted by: King Ninja May 18th, 2010 Reply

    Question:
Why are they using the ‘old’ 2005 logo for this classics figure? Are they going to continue using that logo for classics?

Also, I’ve seen tons of classic series episodes but criminally have never seen all of An Unearthy Child. So, could some kind fan please explain, what’s the skull about?

  27. Posted by: gary May 3rd, 2010 Reply

it’s a good figure but there has never been a 5 inch figure released on it’s own with only 1 accesory that has been worth £14.99

  28. Posted by: The Whofan101 May 1st, 2010 Reply

    Ordered today! Can’t wait!

  29. Posted by: The Whofan101 April 25th, 2010 Reply

Is this a better buy then the 7th Doctor with TARDIS?

  30. Posted by: BooBoo April 14th, 2010 Reply

You have to remember that without these exclusives ( and there price ) these figures may never have seen the light of day

  31. Posted by: Joe April 13th, 2010 Reply

right, i am sick to death of these overpriced FP exclusives!!! Character, release these in normal shops and price them £8.99 or something. i would buy it but £14.99 isnt worth it. i have the 1st doctor and saucer commander dalek black and white edition, its a shame about these exclusives, the only ones i have are the timecrash set and the 1st doctor and dalek. the others are overpriced.

  32. Posted by: Joe April 11th, 2010 Reply

I am getting this i wonder if it come’s in black and white
    it’s worth £14.99 :)

  33. Posted by: booboo April 10th, 2010 Reply

I don’t know about the post i think its between £3-5

  34. Posted by: booboo April 10th, 2010 Reply

without them the 1st 2nd and 3rd Doctor may never have seen the light of day.

  35. Posted by: Anonymous April 10th, 2010 Reply

all fp figuers are over priced

  37. Posted by: The Whofan101, from the old forum, once called Charlie April 9th, 2010 Reply

thanks booboo, i may ask for this

  38. Posted by: booboo April 9th, 2010 Reply

The Future of THE Dr Who FP Exclusives:
There are plenty more FP exclusives out this year, atleast half a dozen COMPANIONS, just what the doctor ordered you might say, no pun intende.
As Vin Diesel once said, not interested. But Ive been thinking lately about FP and their exclusives for Doctor Who action figures. And I have realised that really they should continue to make these and theyre a good idea because it means one thing that is important above all else: MORE DR WHO FIGURES! You can really personalise your collection, have YOUR Doctor in your personal favourite costume which I think is an absolutely great idea and I do buy The Doctors in different costumes.

But the real problem I believe is that they are selling figures from Dr Who that rightfully should not be exclusives. An Imperial Dalek should belong on the shelves of a toy shop, released seperately. Imagine if they released another exclusive, but this time its a figure that should be available for ANY Dr Who fan like a Genesis of the Daleks Davros or the Delgado Master. They wouldnt be widely available than if released in a wave, and they would be twice as expensive. Exclusives should be figures that not everyone wants but some people personally would want; they try to sell the most popular figures in the Waves, understandably. But say there were fans who like the Fifth Doctor story Terminus, and would want figures based on a character or a monster from that episode like, say, the Garm.

Most people would pass but fans of Terminus would be going crazy and have a smile on their face and a wallet in their hands that theyve made an action figure from the episode they are fond of. Figures like the Raston Robot from 5 Doctors, or the Cyber leader from EarthShock, or maybe the Creature from the black lagoon from Full Circle, perhaps even Omega should be an exclusive and not a public figure. But really, exclusives are meant to be special things and not just overpriced figures that you will have to order of the internet when it could have been a shop-figure for a reasonalbe price.

From some of the pictures I’ve seen, I thought that scalf was red.

  55. Posted by: McGann is The Doctor. March 5th, 2010 Reply

I cant say Im really all that much a fan of the Black and White era, therefore this figure is of little, if any, appeal to me. But I will admit there were some good stories from the 60s, especially Patricks episodes, but it was just too easy for it to be boring! I think Ill just continue to stear clear of the BW era.

But I will say for one thing that I do agree with re-releasing the Doctors in different costumes, I really like it a great amount and it gives fans a way of making their collection special/unique/different because they can have the Doctor in their personal favourite of that Doctors attire. For me, having a special collection that says a little bit about me, such as having all three of the Sixth Doctors variables tells thats my favourite Doctor, or thats my favourite fourth Doctor costume.

Quite frankly everyone has the Fourth Doctor in his first costume, boring if everyone has the same! And I personally dislike that costume, the coat is too short and a distasteful colour and the trousers look like that of a primary school boys IMO. So thats why you see the Fourht Doctor Pyramids of Mars FP exclusive (whos costume i find vastly more appealing) in my collection instead. Keep it up Character Options, I like to be spoilt for choice and have this variety of different costumes indeed. ;)
