Which Five Companions Would You Like Released?

Which 5 Companions Would You Like to See Released in the Future ?

A few years ago we ran a poll to find out which 5 Companions you would Like to See added to the classic figure range.

Three of the top five have now been released so its time to find out your most wanted companion figures again.

The results from the previous poll with over 12,000 votes. Three of the top four which were clear winners have been released.

Ace, who has just been announced was the second most wanted figure next to the Brigadier…

i would like to see the Doctor’s Daughter, and any of the female companions since the series began. I feel that the Doctor’s had more love and affection for his female companion’s than his male companions.

Doctors daughter, Craig & Jackie Tyler would be cool to get to pretty much complete the new who companions

I’d love to see Barbara, Ian and Susan. Barbara could be done quite easily for UT as she were’s a jumper in multiple episodes including The Web Planet and The Chase which can easily be re-coloured.

Could we have a poll of ‘minor’ Companions such as Wilf, Jackie, Craig, Adelaide Brooke etc. I mean they released an Astrid Peth figure, and a River Song figure way before she was counted as a companion, so what’s stopping Underground Toys making a Wilfred Mott or Craig Owens figure? Wilf could come with a telescope, Craig with a Cybermat etc.

I can’t see them making a Wilf figure or a Craig figure if i’m honest

I’m wondering why they didn’t have Kameleon on here, he had two stories as a companion and was going to be in ‘The Awakening’ before it was shortened to two-parts. Even then, they shot a scene with him for it that was eventually deleted. Bring on the Kameleon figure.

Yes, Kameleon. I haven’t seen any of his episodes but he is too counted as a companion by some.

Trenzalore, Character Options and Underground Toys choose the strangest of characters to make figures of. For example: Uncle (The Doctor’s Wife), Peter Winder, Hawthorne (both from The Beast Below) and Francesco (Vampires of Venice), all figures that I have never seen the appeal to get as they only played minor roles in the episodes they were in. I think Wilf and Craig are more deserving of a figure than those guys were. But, that’s just my opinion

Kylie and Alex are BIG international stars, with huge followings, long before Doctor Who! It would be poor merchandizing NOT to cash in on that!

Did you know, Alex played a character named Miranda POND on Law and Order SVU.

Yes I agree they are more important than those figures you mentioned but these figures I bet would not look a thing like the characters as they would be really hard to make spending a lot of money and time and it would be a waste. Also what’s better a really bad figure that probably won’t sell particularly well or no figure? I would think no figure because it will be what you think about when that characters comes on ‘how bad the figure would sell’.

Also you are supposed to play and make adventures out of them. What adventures can you make that involves Wilf? Why would a child want a figure of wilf? (no offence Bernard) If these figures were put for sale I probably wouldn’t buy them.

If I still bought figures I would LOVE a Wilf figure! If not to play with, to have as an AMAZING piece of merchandising!

And you say that these are characters no one would want to play with… who wants to have an adventure where the Doctor and the dead Uncle go and fight off the dead Vampire Fish in disguise? (Actually I can see this now, and it’s making me laugh!) Ahaha!

they are mostly in polls i am about to post soon but under characters rather than companions besides this entire poll is base around what underground toys may consider doing which i very unlikely to include anything from 2005 onwards at the moment.

Anything in Matt’s era isn’t included as highly unlikely to happen

Good point, but with Matt regenerating at the end of the year I just assumed some of the rights to his era get moved onto UT.

      July 6th, 2013 - 11:55pm

it might but i think it highly unlikely underground toys will look at anything 2005 onwards at the Moment unless its been already tooled

poll will be up soon with a missed figures section so they will tell us what’s what

2: ARK IN SPACE (Cryochamber – Noah (hand & half formed versions), larva state and full wirrn) (or just a box of green bubble wrap)

I’d like a poll for which 3.75 inch figures should be released next, to be honest. The wave they have is pretty good, but I think Series 7 needs more than one wave to cover everything in it. Whispermen, dinosaurs, metallic Paradigm Daleks, Jenny, Vastra, and Strax would be highly appreciated.

Matt’s rights won’t move anywhere. The classic definition has been set up by BBC Worldwide and is based off the production team, not the Doctor. If they repeat what happened before it will be when Moffat leaves that there is another reclassification, not Smith.

Four of the top five were in my top 5 except for Harry Sullivan instead of Ian (who I love as a character). Release Harry with a rotocast Wirrn and you’ve got a winner! A great character from one of Classic Who’s greatest ever seasons.

Ian, Barbara and Susan Three Pack
    Tegan Jovanka with Mara
Sarah Jane Smith and Third Doctor from Planet of Spiders
    Jamie McCrimmon with Yeti

I voted Ian, Barbara, Susan, Sarah and Jamie. Baffling how there hasn’t been a Ian Chesterton one yet. It makes perfect sense! I mean, Ian Chesterton was like the Hartnell era’s action hero! And they’re called ACTION figures!

Ian might be hard to make in the facial area but I agree my idea below was a unearthly child set with the actual episode DVD, Ian, Barbara, Susan, 1st doc and the TARDIS

A doll? these aren’t dolls…they are figurines. Dolls are giant plastic bodies with fabrics on them that are made to look beautiful, these are highly detailed figures!
