A box set of four BBC Radio 4 dramas featuring the characters from the hit BBC TV series, as played by John Barrowman, Freema Agyeman, Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd.

Torchwood: The Radio Adventures…

Torchwood Asylum

When PC Andy Davidson arrests a young girl for shoplifting, he thinks it’s going to be a routine case. That is, until he sees that she is carrying a gun. The girl is soaking wet, covered in mud, and the weapon is like nothing he’s ever seen before.

He knows that this is a case for Torchwood…The team discovers that the girl is called Freda, but can find out nothing else. Yet when she speaks, it’s a strange mix of English and Icelandic, but with a Cardiff accent.

While Jack and Ianto check out the girl’s weapon and her blood sample at the Hub, Gwen and PC Andy take Freda to a safe house. But when Jack calls with the results – and Freda goes on the run – PC Andy finds his world turning upside down.

Written specially for BBC Radio by Anita Sullivan, “Asylum” stars John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness, Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper, Gareth David-Lloyd as Ianto Jones and Tom Price as PC Andy Davidson. It contains adult themes and language.

The Golden Age

The Torchwood team head for Delhi on the trail of a dangerous energy field, in Golden Age, written by James Goss, the second part of this brand-new series of extraterrestrial investigations starring John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd.

As the energy field grows once more, the team witness the simultaneous disappearance of hundreds of people and Jack discovers that the field centres on an old colonial mansion – Torchwood India.

Shocked to find that Torchwood India is still going strong, since he shut it down himself more than 80 years ago, Jack is even more surprised to find that its members, including his old flame, the Duchess, haven’t aged a day.

Captain Jack Harkness is played by John Barrowman, Gwen Cooper by Eve Myles and Ianto Jones by Gareth David-Lloyd.

The Dead Line

When a Cardiff hospital is inundated with patients who have fallen into coma-like trances, Torchwood moves in to investigate in the third part of this brand new series of extra-terrestrial investigations starring John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd.

The trances appear to have been triggered by phone calls, all received on retro phones and made from a number that hasn’t been active for more than 30 years.

Determined to find out who’s been calling the unfortunate victims, Jack rings the mysterious number – two, zero, five, nine. It seems to be a dead line … until Jack is called back.

Lost Souls

The Torchwood team and Martha face danger at CERN in this special BBC radio episode, starring John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Gareth David-Lloyd and Freema Agyeman. Following the tragic deaths of two of their colleagues, only Captain Jack Harkness, Gwen Cooper and Ianto Jones remain of Torchwood, protecting humanity against the unknown. Martha Jones, ex-time traveller and now working as a doctor for UNIT, has been called to CERN – the world’s largest particle physics laboratory in Geneva.

They’re about to activate the Large Hadron Collider, designed to recreate conditions after the Big Bang and thus give an insight into what the Universe is made of. But so much could go wrong: it could open a gateway to a parallel dimension, or even create a black hole.Voices from the past are calling out to people from the LHC, and scientists have started to disappear. Where have they gone? What is lurking in the underground tunnel – and do the dead ever really stay dead? Based on the award-winning BBC Wales TV production “Torchwood”, “Lost Souls” stars John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Gareth David-Lloyd and Freema Agyeman, with Lucy Montgomery, Stephen Critchlow and Mark Meadows. Also on this CD is a bonus program, “Torchwood: All Access”, going behind the scenes of the TV show. First broadcast on BBC Radio Wales, it features Russell T. Davies and members of the TV series cast and crew.

This is pointless, I dont know why they make all these radio dramas, no-one listens to them except a few people now and then. Im only really bothered about on-screen adventures and I do read some books

It is listed at amazon at £40 which was very expensive, play.com is only £22 and it seems the same CD’s as you say that you can get for £15

I don’t know why they are bringing this out to be honest unless there is something we don’t know about it.
