Journalist Sarah Jane Smith covertly gains access to a research centre where top scientists are being held in protective custody whilst UNIT investigates the disappearance of a number of their colleagues. The missing scientists have been kidnapped by a Sontaran, Linx, and taken back to medieval England, where they are working under hypnosis to repair his crashed spaceship.
The Third Doctor follows in the TARDIS, and Sarah Jane stows away. In return for shelter, Linx has provided a robber baron called Irongron with anachronistically advanced weapons to use in attacks on neighbouring castles.
The Doctor helps Sir Edward of Wessex to repel one such attack, then he and Sarah Jane conspire to drug the food in Irongron’s kitchens so that the weapons can be removed while the men are unconscious. Aided by one of the kidnapped scientists, Rubeish, he then sends the others back to the 20th Century using Linx’s primitive time travel equipment.
Linx shoots Irongron down and gets ready to leave in his repaired ship. Hal, one of Sir Edward’s archers, fires an arrow into the vulnerable probic vent at the back of his neck, killing him. The Doctor, Sarah Jane and Hal escape just before the ship explodes, destroying the castle.
In this exclusive set we present the Classic Sontaran: Commander Linx and his iconic Sontaran space ship along with the Third Doctor in Green Jacket and Sonic Screwdriver.

This set is WORTH getting. The Sontaran is THE Sontaran. No more sontaran figures needed, this is the definitive and only one I would need on my shelves. Nuff said

Great job on that pertwee sculpt, goes well with that cloaked one from the 11 Doctors set.

May 21st, 2011 - 9:19amI think it’s quite a good set but why not make a maroon version of Jon Pertwee, you know a maroon jacket because it some ways it was his sort of main jacket after the navey.

You did get to see it they could have done a plaset with a lift off roof so that the sontaran could sit and everything. doesnt it just annoy you that character options have no imagination!!! ggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! May 21st, 2011 - 9:23amI do think some of the recent figures of Matt Smith were very undetailed and I like detail. At some point if I had the chance I would mould my own and paint it with more detail. I mean they could do the shirt better instead of just lines and the christmas Matt Smith figure’s jacket could of had the brown line pattern on it I mean it just needs lines.

May 21st, 2011 - 12:12amI hope there will be a PLANET OF THE SPIDERS set, with the Doctor and Sarah. If they make just ONE classic Sarah, we’ll be buying, so I hope there will be a set based on that story.
With a couple of Metebillis spiders and a repainted Third Doctor costume. 😉
And maybe they could even kill two birds with one stone, and make a Brigadier to it, aswell. Infact, they should just do a UNIT set, with the Doctor Jo and Brig. Nuff said. 😉

May 20th, 2011 - 4:02pmFrom a production point of view its cheaper to produce these sets on the same production line than keep going back to have to set it up all again, that’s probably why we have had 4 Davros/Dalek sets in a row and 2 sontaran pods.

And also i c that CO have not printed the number across the pod door like they did with the sontaran experiment set. Also 2 day marks the 15th anniversy of jon pertwees death.

May 19th, 2011 - 10:48amI like this set and will be sure to get hold of one when it comes out. Like I finally got for the Sontaran Experiment.. But like the Sontaran Experiment set the ship lets it down.. I didn’t know till I got early this week the ship door opens BUT you can’t put the Sontaran in the Ship it is pretty much just a ball of rubber that opens.. The seat what there is of the inside with the seat is pretty much right behind the door.. It should been made so the Sontaran figure and go inside it and close the door like with the Tardis you can buy.
