I’ve been watching the series Victorian Sensations, on BBC4 (UK), hosted by Paul McGann – and just wanted to recommend it to Who fans. Very interesting overall, and great segment in episode 2 about HG Well’s Time Machine. Should be on the iplayer if you’ve missed it.

Would love that and a first doctor companions set, would also love a tenth planet or power of the Daleks set:
      Polly using Jo grant body
Ben using new wrap on Mickey body
Either David Bradley 1st doctor or hatted power 2and doctor

I think it would be nice to have Ben and polly as they could double for both 1st and 2nd doctor companions like the Peri figure does for 5 and 6

Would love an online exclusive of Jamie, I think there’d be a market like there was for jungles of mechanics Daleks

i was referring more to eaglemoss doing their versions .I,d like Tegan in all three of her outfits but i,d like to see Nyssa, Adric and Tegan with 5th in a castrovalva or visitation set but as for character options and B and m i,d maybe like to see some of the earlier companions. From the 2005 series+ new versions of Rose ,Mickey, martha, Donna, Clara and Bill using existing models, maybe an exclusive out of the blue, Nardole, courtney or Danny Pink.

      January 19th, 2021 - 12:41am

Oh yeah I think we’ll definitely see an eaglemoss set this year for 5 and his companions, possibly even the next companion set after the 3rd doctor one.

Hoping we see Donna, Martha and Clara get released in companion sets this year- Donna from Stolen Earth, Martha from Lazarus (with 10 in tux) and Clara from Face the Raven (with red coat 12).

For Classic compaions, would love to see Leela from Face of Evil, Peri and Mel in a Trial of a Timelord set (we so often see Character options Peri from seasons 21 and 22, would be nice for eaglemoss to do a Season 23 version to stand out), Vicki and Steven from the Time Meddler and a Ben and Polly set too (perhaps a war machines set which includes Dodo)! Victoria could come with 2 dressed as Salamander or in his Fury costume with hat and lifejacket) Zoe I’m unsure what variants of 2 are left to do (unless we get another War Games variant that’s more ‘battered’), Liz would be nice as well as a Series 1 Rose with Green jumper 9 from Father’s Day (could happen as Jack is getting a second release in the upcoming Revolution of the Daleks set)

I,d also like to see Dodo and Steven in their outfits from The Celestial Toymaker (now The main man is incoming) possibly with Toymaker Robot, Cyril (Billy to his Friends), The Heart king and queen or a partially Invisible Doctor (Haha!).

Is it likely that some of the other Collection box sets get rereleased? Such as Season 19, 18 & 10? They go for mind blowing prices on eBay and it seems a shame that those who missed out can’t seem to get them for a fair price. Maybe, like Season 12, they could re-release one a year so those who missed out have the opportunity to own them? Just a shame really cos it’s not really a Collection if it can’t be completed…

Evil of the Daleks 2 pack
7th doctor tardis rerelease with new base
13th doctor red jumper with claw arm bronze dalek in a Revolution set (akin to the recent witch’s familiar and coal hill sets)

We’re definitely getting more CO online exclusives after the amazing success of the Mechanus Daleks.

I’m personally hoping we get some new release announced soon, even if it’s just History of the Daleks sets #5 & #6 (though I’d love a wave of TLV based Doctor/Dalek sets akin to the BF Doctor/Dalek sets).

      Liz Shaw & Silurian
Silurian and Sea Devil from warriors
2013 nightmare and 2017 mondasian cybermen 2 pack

I’ve been collecting 5.5 range pretty much since the start and have most of them still boxed as new. Due to circumstances I don’t have room to store them anymore. Does anyone have advice on where/how to sell. I’ve never sold on ebay and don’t really want to. Any thoughts from anyone?

ebay generally gets you the highest price but you would have to split it and sell the more desirable separably so lots of postage

dealers will buy but a fraction of what its worth but will travel to pick up and take it all in one go.

you could test the water on Facebook or try gallifreybase forum (you will have to join if not already) they have a sales section where you will most likely find genuine collectors

its really depends on what your expectations on price are

I sold all of mine on ebay about 18 months ago. I got really good prices for everything. Especially the older harder to find sets. I put them on in batches rather than all in one go because it can get a bit confusing keeping track of everything. Going to the post office with 20+ parcels was a pain in the arse though. At least they do home collection now.

I think Richard Aoyade would be a good choice for the next Doctor.
I remember watching him over Christmas in an episode of catchphrase and thinking he was totally bonkers. Sought of character that would make a good doctor.

His acting isn’t that great though, he’s goofy and bonkers but it’s his entire personality, he’s intimidating in that he never breaks that character and acts like a proper human so if he was the Doctor I can’t see him being really approachable to fans. Plus they have to be able to be dramatic, angry, fierce, funny, goofy, regretful, emotional, heroic etc. at any time. I can’t see him being able to do anything other than his whole monotone, sarcastic, one note character

      January 13th, 2021 - 11:09am

Doctor Stu i,m sure he has a more extensive range given the opportunity but he is a comedy actor first and foremost and that his his schtick. He does have that otherworldly alien quality that is a good starting point but to be fair i can,t think of many male black actors that spring to mind although why not keep it in the family and try out William Russells son Alfred Enoch. Hes a new fresh actor and mostly unknown in the same way that Matt Smith was( he was excellent in the Jodie Whittaker drama ‘Trust me’ and it would be a great opportunity. Micaela cole is a very good actress but i,ve only seen her more serious roles in I may destroy You and black earth Rising so the jury is out there. Jo martin knocked the role out of the park at the off and shes the perfect candidate and why not? It worked for Colin Baker after his one off role in Arc and jumped at the chance when it was offered by JNT and by no means of selection.

    • Anonymous

      January 13th, 2021 - 12:51pm

If they can say the doctor revisited the tom Baker face in the future then there’s no reason jo Martin can’t be the next doctor and a past doctor

    • Doctor Stu

      January 13th, 2021 - 1:21pm

Alfred Enoch isn’t new and unknown anymore he’s massive in America. And when you’ve been in Harry Potter the whole world knows who you are. I’m intrigued who Chibnall will pick. Jodie was quite a safe choice, so I’m imaging the next one he picks will be similarly as safe so it’ll probably be another actor from broadchurch.

    • the ergon

      January 13th, 2021 - 2:03pm

He wasn,t able to stand out in such a wide A list and varied cast like Harry potter, Doctor Who could afford him that platform. He,d be a good choice.

  • the ergon

    January 12th, 2021 - 11:31am

Interesting to see Richard Ayoade and Micaela cole as bookies favourites to take on the 14th doctor roles should Jodie decide to step down. Others/outsiders including Kris Marshall, Natalie Dormer, Phoebe Waller Bridge, Reese shearsmith and Even Jodie Comer(although unlikely for Bridge and Comer as they are ubiquitous and in very high demand at present with Comers Hollywood career just taking off). I like the idea of Whoopi Goldberg but i think they will go with a British Black actor next time aroundas aforementioned. Any Thoughts?

Whatever happens the 14 Doctor will be female. Otherwise, the decision to change 54 years of a male lead to female will look like a failure.

I still wonder if the fugitive Doctor will turn out to be the 14th but think Chibs will be running that storyline upto and including the 60th.

Whoopie can appear in the show by all means but not as the new Doctor. I still prefer them to be a British actor.

I’d like Rupert Grint to be a future Doctor. And the first ginger one too.

      January 12th, 2021 - 12:15pm

I believe that it should be an actor of any gender, as along as their the best actor for the job. Personally, I would like to see Tom Ellis play the doctor, as from watching him in lucifer he is a fantastic actor, and has said before in interviews he would love to play the character. Even though, he has been in the show before he played a minor characters and so has other doctors like Colin and Peter. Also he is currently filming his final season of lucifer, so his schedule may be open.

Other actors, I would like to see are Gillian Anderson, but I don’t know if she’s available due to a show she’s in on Netflix’s doesn’t seem to be ending. Micheal Sheen and Hayley atwell, but she may be too big of a name, but you never know.

    • the ergon

      January 12th, 2021 - 1:07pm

I agree that Whoopee could be a running Guest on the show but the more i think about it i,m warming more to the idea of Ayoade if jodie leaves. He does have those eccentric and idiosyncratic traits needed to make the part work and it ticks the black male actor but as You say Daz i do think they will continue with a female lead at least for the 14th role and yes i do think it should be be a black actor. It may return to the white male lead on and off in future if the series is successful.

    • Doctor Stu

      January 13th, 2021 - 1:24pm

I’d love it for it to be Tom Ellis. Kris Marshal a bit like Ayoade just doesn’t have the range. But it’s never gonna happen, I cant see them going white or male so soon. It’s 100% a woman. I just wonder who it’ll be

    • Doctor Mysterio

      January 14th, 2021 - 2:08pm

Daniel Kaluuya was hotly tipped to take over the role after Matt Smith left, but it ultimately went to Peter Capaldi. He’d be a good choice now, but as he seems to be enjoying great sucess in Hollywood at the moment, we might have missed out on his Doctor.
