The Three Doctors Collectors Set 1972 – Pictures

The Three Doctors Collectors Set 1972

This item can be ordered from www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk. Please note this item is exclusive to Forbidden Planet international in the UK.

Don’t forget our interactive Doctor Who Classic Lists where you can see every classic 5″ figure ever made and save which one you own. There are also handy filers to see which figures have been made in each of The Doctors Era’s or see only companions, Masters etc.

3-doctors-box580

A gel-like plasma creature arrives on Earth and hunts down the third Doctor, who calls on the Time Lords for help. The Time Lords themselves are in crisis as their energy is being drawn off into a black hole. They send the Doctor’s earlier selves to join him.

brig-set-02580

The first Doctor, caught in a time eddy and able only to advise, deduces that the creature is a time bridge. The third Doctor and Jo then give themselves up to it and are transported to a world of antimatter beyond the black hole.

brig-set-01580

On Earth, the second Doctor is forced to take refuge in the TARDIS along with the Brigadier and Sergeant Benton. On the advice of the first Doctor he switches off the ship’s force field, and the whole UNIT building is transported through the black hole.

brig-set-jo-01580

Behind these events is Omega, a figure from Time Lord history whose solar engineering provided the power for time travel.

brig-set-gel-01580

He has been trapped in the black hole ever since and now wants the Doctor to swap places with him, but it transpires that the corrosive properties of his domain have already destroyed his physical form, leaving only his will.

This Gel Guard was lit with a lamp under a glass table – it looks superb…

Do you think the hands will be different? or just the arms? They could be sculpted to hold something on an alternate hand?? Sounds a little silly, but they should make the most of swappable arms.

Ok, but on the plus side, at least we are getting her, a lot of people have been demanding the brig and gel guard, and I have been wanting Jo, so this set is perfect. And similarly with the price. Wonder why they reducing them?

Im just watching the daemons, and theres a scene with the brig in jumper with binos just like the other prototype. And you say theres a prototype for the master, and Bok? Could that make up another three pack set?

Pre-ordered two sets! Really impressed with the value of this set, but I do have a worry that since the price is so low, they won’t put as much effort in painting them as they normally would, but I’m sure I’ll be wrong! But a slight shame about the release day, would have liked this before Christmas, but I’m sure they’ll be more to come before then!

That Brigadier is amazing! Always wanted a Brigadier figure and now I have one! Its even better than I imagined. The gel guard is great. Really hope its arm moves. Jo Grant looks quite dodgy, but the other two are awesome!
