The Monster Factory Tardis Desk Tidy

Available to order from www.amazon.co.uk

The Monster Factory’s new Doctor Who desk tidy is set to take stationery into another dimension! The eye-catching penholder is an official replica of the TARDIS – the Time Lord’s iconic blue police box.

Do you dread those long, dreary days in the office fielding emails, fiddling with spreadsheets and brainstorming novel ways to unjam the printer? Whether it’s wading through revision or spending endless hours watching the spinning wheel of death on your laptop screen, you are not alone – even Time Lords have to do their admin!

At last something has come along to relieve the tedium of everyday life on Earth. Before you run out of the door screeching ‘exterminate!’ at Keith in Accounts, let the TARDIS desk tidy whisk you away on a journey through space and time.

You may not have a plucky companion, but you can have the ultimate accessory. The official Doctor Who stationery holder is a perfect replica of the police phone box that has carried the Time Lord to every time and dimension in the galaxy.

The TARDIS has been made to the same exacting standards that the Doctor would expect – the wooden tidy is durable and detail-rich, with a hinged door and roof. Just like the cavernous original, the TARDIS is bigger than it appears, with plenty of rooming for hiding pens, pencils and sonic screwdrivers.

The TARDIS desk tidy is the must-have gift for Whovians of all ages. Now any cubbyhole or workstation can be transformed into a realm of fantasy and adventure! Where will you go and who will you face? Perhaps you’ll choose battle against the Sontarans, go head with the Master or take a trip back home to Gallifrey? Open the TARDIS doors, pick out a pencil, and dream…

Starting to get fed-up with this already! The Monster Factory said this would be out on 15/6/16 then shunted it back to 30/6/16 & have now pushed it back again to 20/7/16. If I don’t get it then, I’m going to cancel my Order. If they don’t have it for sale why bother advertising it?

they may rely on pre orders to set manufacturing numbers which may have been smaller / larger that expected, happens all the time, especially with new licences who have no bench mark to work from.

I have not seen it featured on other sites very much either.

Could be any amount of reasons for the hold up many outside of their control.

Virtually everything licence i can think of apart from books, CD, DVd have suffered delays from original planned dates

      Just got mine.
The box it came in looked a bit suspect with bad printing and warn looking but the item itself is good and well made. The hinges have been painted blue on the opening doors so do not stand out as in the original picture.

Spoke to a Louise Thomas at Monster Factory after hold ups. She was really helpful and kept me updated with emails. I think they had some packaging issues.
This seems likely as the quality of the box does let the product down slightly.

could be why you cant order it if they are waiting for better packaging, especially if they plan to sell out to retailers

any chance you could take a quick pic of the box and send it to [email protected]

got them thanks, the product looks great but i can see why the packaging is an issue

looks like it the thin layered corrugated card that never prints well or holds up

Yes thin card. You may notice that the box was damaged also. It just came in a plastic postal bag with no protection.
It would be interesting to see how many others got one today and what condition it came in.

Mine turned up in a plastic bag. The box is totally ruined & the outside printing is extremely faint & badly printed on the main side. The interior packaging is also extremely poor causing the Tardis to shift around. My one has a loose top light & a great big wooden knot in it that ruin’s the smooth texture of the rest of the Tardis. Extremely disappointing!

Just thought of the best ideas, Get one of these and keep Sonic Screwdrivers in it or print out a giant Capaldi face and slot it in for a Flatline replica

Think I might just use this as a model as it looks beautiful! It kind of reminds me of the ‘Doctor Puppet’ Tardis.

I love the idea for this but there’s one small little thing that puts me of, can’t remember what it’s called but the part that lets the doors move I think shouldn’t be on show as it makes this product have a more ugly side to it

I think this might look great with the playmobil figures when they come out. Being made of wood gives it a sort of retro feel.

I must say I do like this & am going to buy one. But I think the NEXT version is a better desk tidy. Unfortunately the NEXT version costs about a £100 now. If only they could combine the Exterior of this one & the Interior of the NEXT splitting into 3 that would have been ace!

Doesn’t look like it would make a great desk tidy, to be honest (surely all the contents would fall out when you open the doors?), but as far as Tardis models go it’s a pretty nice example

presumably you would use the lid, to be honest its a nice touch to have opening doors as it would have been all to easy to just have a fixed panel
