The Fourth Doctor Time Capsule is an individually numbered deluxe box-set, containing exclusive content and memorabilia from Tom Baker’s era on Doctor Who, including a newly-commissioned interview with the man himself – An Interview with the Time Lord.
With a limited run of 5000 units, the Time Capsule also includes:
- An exclusive post-regenerative Fourth Doctor action figure, wearing Jon Pertwee’s trademark frill-fronted shirt
- A Fourth Doctor sonic screwdriver.
- An audio version of classic Tom Baker story Genesis of the Daleks.
- Novel Tomb of Valdemar by Simon Messingham, set during the Doctor’s search for the Key to Time.
- Art cards of all the Fourth Doctor’s companions.
- And a letter from Tom Baker himself
Alongside the interview package, the set contains an advance vanilla release of the restored Terror of the Zygons, set to be released in full later this year. Telling the tale of shape-shifting aliens attempting to colonize the Earth, Terror of the Zygons introduces the titular monsters, who are set to return in the 50th anniversary special.
From witnessing the genesis of the Daleks to preventing the death of the universe at Logopolis, the Fourth Doctor was an adventurer on an epic scale. Armed with a gleeful smile, swashbuckling charm and righteous morality, he defeated Sontarans, ancient vampires and the Black Guardian.
It was this incarnation of the Doctor that found and reassembled the Key to Time, that tried to reason with Davros at the birth of the Daleks, and was invested as Lord President of the High Council of Time Lords. February 27th, 2018 - 1:28pmOrdered mine last night. I was planning on getting 4’s sonic anyway, and that was about £20 on Amazon. I was also looking at the (slightly different) 4th Doctor regenerated figure, too, which would have been another £27. Definitely worth the both of them, plus all the other great stuff (including Terror of the Zygons, a DVD that was also on my list to buy) for less than the price of just the figure and the sonic!

February 27th, 2018 - 5:42amAs a US collector I’m surprised this set could still be floating around at relatively low prices in any capacity, used or new. Few things come to mind about this:
1. How low has the demand shifted for this since the 50th?
2. Was the production run greater than the announced 5000?
3. Are Classic Who fans, even Tom Baker lovers, actually not that big enough to the point of plenty of these remaining unowned?

DVD collectors knew the full release was just round the corner
great collectors set for those price though
they could have sold 4500 with 500 lurking around in warehouses, often happens

I’m so glad I’ve seen it now. It’s one of my favourite Fourth Doctor stories now. Brilliant letter from Tom as well. Mine was number 4191 out of 5000. It’s well worth the money. 😀

Considering i payed the maximum price for it and i got it from BBC shop, the main place to get it from i thought they might deliver it on time or even earlier!
