I’m a proud to be; hard core fan of Doctor who. Having said that the only thing I buy and collect in relation to this is Doctor Who DVDs. As a result I admit that I am obsessive and a completist. My collection includes the 1993 TARDIS video (now DVD) cabinet and aeveral rare and collect able DVDs and other items. However…In my collection of almost 500 DVDs….
….THIS is the only DVD I have been unable to get and unable to locate or track down. It’s the one DVD I would love to add to my collection; and I look up to all of you who have it. Take pride in it and value it. You have a rare collectors item.

Almost 2 years later…..searching for listings or sellers on a regular basis…… AND THIS PAST WEEK I’ve found a copy and I’m now the proud owner of my own copy in my collection. I genuinely never thought I’d locate a copy but it just shows if you want limited or special edition copies they can be located eventually.

Its a forbidden planet exclusive. I did preorder but canceled as its simply not worth it.£12.99 for the non limited edition from amazon.co.uk or 24 pounds (20 quid plus 4 quid delivery) for the limited edition . Reguardless of it being my absolute fav story of all time and even if it is limited its just not any way worth paying an extra tenner for what is just an extra bit of cardboard.

Not worth it just to get a cardboard sleeve!! I always bin those anyway, they are such a waste of time…

no you can order this from Forbidden Planet at the moment, they are running the shop at the convention but I’m not sure why they call it a convention exclusive

I think the US versions of some DVDs are better than the UK. The 2 disc Beginning box set is much nicer than the UK 3 disc version, not just the size but the artwork cover also.

Hey ! What’s the Difference between this special version and the regular ?

Is it just the cover ?

Yeah its just the cover. Slightly pricey at 24 quid for it once you add in Postage and packaging for it and the fact that play.com are charging 13.99 free postage and packing.

When it says slipcase, is it just like a card case for it, like the Special Editions, or does it have a different cover inside too?

I’m 30 and watched the Deamons so many times in 1992… it was coloured and put on BBC2, on Uk Gold and relased on video so quickly. Don’t think i’ve watched it since then… and exactly what convention is this for ?

i think this is like a cardboard sleeve that covers the main dvd case, a lot of main films have them like this
