New 3.75″ Dalek Variant Emperors Guard Hits The Shops

We were told it was coming – Two were found in Smyths Toys, a new (and supposedly non rare) variant – no more information available at present.
You can Search Ebay for “Rare” figures or Search Ebay for “Chase” figures.

I’ve got 4 now, I got the first 2 both from smyths (the 2 on the photos) and the next 2 I got were both from an independant store in bicester. Still not sure how rare they are though, they’re clearly not as rare as the ‘chase’ figures, but not as common as the normal figures. Also if they were making a new figure, why wouldn’t they make a new box for it? The box says “6 to collect” and if this isn’t rare than obviously there are 7

Hmmm sounds like a plan maybe the wave will have somthing to do with the 50th look at it this way the 50th DVD comes out 10 days after the 50th that’s on the 2 of December so retailers are using this as an advantage before charistmas day so they get more money retailers have probably been waiting for this they just love it when a plan comes to gether”…!

October 25th, 2013 - 4:53pmPlus, with all of these [5″ and 3.75″] Emperor’s guard Daleks drifting about, is it possible that they feature in the 50th? I mean, the manufacturers probably didn’t know, but the BBC could easily go, “Hey, Emperor’s Guard Daleks would be a good idea.” The 9th Doctor 5″ one was because it was a new Dalek for no.9 but why the 3.75″, and in such close proximity to the release of the 5″ version?

2 at £69.99 and 1 last night for £49.99
There are another 2 on eBay right now. Both with buy it now prices over £60.
All chase figures started off being ridiculous prices on eBay, but they soon come down once loads of them start appearing.
There’s a looped angel at the moment on eBay for a buy it now price of £24.99 with free p&p. I’ve seen them go for much more.

October 22nd, 2013 - 5:55pmI went especially to the Fareham Smythes yesterday lunchtime. Helpfully they immediately asked what I wanted. “Doctor Who”. I was escorted to section without any Doctor Who. After speaking to other colleagues it transpires that somewhen in the next month they have read that some items are coming in.
I am again staggered at how an expanding toy chain cannot foresee the marketing potential of Doctor Who. Even Robert Dyas has put out a Christmas range already.
I am singularly unimpressed with Smythes.

Al dewar stated on his twitter that these daleks were going to be on general release, so we know that they will be easy to find.But he also stated that they would be in later shipments of the figures which does back up Booboo’s theorey that the bronze daleks are being replaced.

October 21st, 2013 - 9:24pmIf this emperor guard figure is to be a general release figure, why then is it packaged the same way as all the previous 6 chase variant figures?
It’s packaging just says dalek and not emperors guard dalek (like the toys r us 9th Dr/Dalek set does) and the reverse side is identical to the previous wave and still shows the completely gold dalek in the photograph just like the black dalek sec variant did.
