Hero Collector Unveils New Doctor Who Companion Sets

Hero Collector Unveils New Doctor Who Companion Sets!

“Fear Makes Companions Of Us All”

Hero Collector – designers, manufacturers, and publishers of high-quality collectibles from across the worlds of pop culture – unveils something old and something new, with two new Doctor Who Companion Sets featuring a cast of beloved TARDIS travelers separated by 55 years!

Each set contains four figurines – an incarnation of The Doctor alongside their three companions –perfectly rendered in hand-painted polyresin at 1:21 scale (approximately 3.5 inches tall). They also come with a “companion” magazine, packed with details behind each character’s time in the TARDIS – including interviews, photographs, and a look back at some of their best-loved stories.

The First Doctor (William Hartnell) arrived on screen in 1963, when teachers Barbara Wright (Jacqueline Hill) and Ian Chesterton (William Russell)followed their mysterious pupil Susan (Carole Ann Ford) home. They soon discovered that she and her grandfather were alien time travelers living inside a police box – which led to all four setting off on adventures through space and time together!

The Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) crash-landed in Sheffield in 2018. Teaming up with trainee engineer Ryan Sinclair (Tosin Cole), former bus driver Graham O’Brien (Bradley Walsh), and probationary police officer Yasmin Khan (Mandip Gill), she defeated a tooth-stealing alien warlord and made her way back to the TARDIS – complete with new friends in tow!

The Thirteenth Doctor Companion Set will be available direct from shop.eaglemoss or your favourite retailer in January 2020, with the First Doctor Companion Set following soon after in February 2020. They join Hero Collector’s ongoing line of 1:21 Doctor Who figurines, which explores aliens, monsters, robots, humans and Doctors from over five decades of classic science fiction TV.

Fans and collectors should stay tuned for further details about Hero Collector’s Doctor Who box sets, including Daleks, Time Lords, and even more companions!

I’m loving these companion sets and will be buying both once they are available to buy. I’m hoping we get ones for the 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and war doctors.

Having said that I do genuinely really hope we might possibly get a season 12 4th Doctor with a Harry and Sarah Jane.

Maybe we could even get three variants of the Third Doctor set? He had lots of costumes, three companions and three key UNIT personnel so it makes sense really. I’d go for-
Set 1-Third Doctor, Liz Shaw and Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart from Doctor Who and the Silurians (1970)
Set 2-Third Doctor, Jo Grant and Sergeant Benton from The Daemons (1971)
Set 3-Third Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith and Mike Yates from Invasion of the Dinosaurs (1974)

Depends how well the first and thirteenth sets do.

I couldn’t agree more. There’s been a load of companies that have tried to tackle a figurine/statuette set based on who and I think Eaglemoss have pulled it off the best.

Really hoping this collection lasts for a good while longer. Still a lot more to do from the adventures in time amd space.

Don’t know about Big Finish (the Real Time blue suit 6th Doctor is the first issue coming in 2020 but that may because that was a BBC property made for them by Big Finish – rather than them having a direct rights agreement in place with BF for their ‘own’ stuff?). But I’m sure they have said they don’t have the rights to the 1960s Aaru (Cushing) films and their characters.

The rights for the Peter cushing films, torchwood and the Sarah Jane adventures are separate from the doctor who rights eaglemoss have. The big finish issue depends on whether they think there is a general market for them. I suspect there is among fans despite the over the top hysteria that accompanied the announcement of the sixth doctor figure

These are amazing and the details look quite fine. They seem to be getting better and better over time. It takes a bit longer for the sets and figurines to be released in the States but always well worth the wait!

Lovely set and a nice touch to return to the ‘moment’ idea reflecting Ian and Barbara’s first meeting with the Doctor. The likenesses are very good for this scale (especially Susan I think) and captures their characters very well. Very much looking forward to it!

Loads of possibilities for other sets of course although I must admit I’m hoping for a Fourth Doctor set with the two Romana’s and K9 mark II.

Hoping this collection keeps going – it’s by far my favourite range along with the Collection blu-ray box sets.

The 13th Doctors console isn’t my favourite but it would be a really ambitious build. I’d be interested to see it.

      I’d love a Capaldi console and a Hartnell/Troughton one!

Well, it’s not confirmation but Neil C has tweeted this morning about ‘Now all it needs is a console to go with them, right?’ referring to the First Doctor set. That could be a hint maybe (they also tweeted a few weeks back that an announcement on a second console release was coming soon)…

the likeness is as good as you could get for figurines of this size. They haven,t always got it right in the past but for these two sets they have done a fine job. When can i order them?
