I got SO excited there…until I realised it was 3.75.

Still good…but not what we were hoping for. A 5 inch Night of the Doctor 8th Doctor with swappable head with a young War Doctor or just even a regenerated young War Doctor as we already have the 8th Doctor head….now that would be worth hitting twitter with 🙂

If they redo all the classics they did in 5 inch and many more from the old series, even if separate from the new series range, it will keep old and new fans sated. I,d buy what I cant get from ‘underground’. I,d be deluding myself thinking they,ll do more classics, that’s why I content myself with what eaglemoss are putting out. Those are good but figures are better whatever the size.

When 3.75 first came out i was dead against them being so small and not so well made then after 50th anniversary set with zygon and 10th and 11th doctors i changed my mind. regretting not buying first two waves. Now I,m so excited 3.75 figures are actually better as dont take up so much room. PLEASE can we have the 60,s and 70,s companions BARBARA , SUSAN AND DODO and the boys IAN, STEPHEN AND JAMIE. in all their retro clothing

I’m quite annoyed still at the fact the figures are 3.75″, never mind bringing more classic monsters (that we haven’t had in 5″ yet) into the situation.

I hope that we get series 8 set with missy the doctor Clara Cybermen Danny etc

      why would they be

Character have not marketed new 5″ figures themselves for a few years now and no classics for several years

Characters currant line in 3.75″ and has been for some time now

your directing your comments to the wrong comapny

Shame, I’d buy the whole set as would a lot of us. Character Options are missing out here. One sculpt gives them five figures with lovely shiny metallic paint jobs. Come on CO I’ve got £££’s waiting.

      February 7th, 2015 - 8:23am

That’s a shame. Would rather a few of those then more gold daleks. If you want a dalek for the new scale, the motion control one (that turns when it sees an obstacle) is a pretty good size

      February 7th, 2015 - 11:41am

You mean the WoW desktop patrol Dalek?

      http://merchandise.thedoctorwhosite.co.uk/doctor-who-wow-stuff/

It is about the right size but the problem is in the UK we only got the red drone and North America got the blue strategist.

Character Options should give us the full paradigm as action figures, maybe as a cool box set of all five like the wind up Daleks did. Loads of us would buy them I’m sure.

Al posted on Twitter that the Missy figure(s) will have swappable heads. I tweeted him saying my guess was either two facial expressions: serene and sinister grin, or hatted and hatless.

He simply favourited the tweet, no replies as of yet. Take with that what you will – could mean nothing, could mean a lot.

Al, please dont cancel the Haemovores before theyve even seen the ligt of day. They sound like a great collecting idea and different enough to be quite exciting. At least they are not another straight repack. Please let us have Haemovores.

its a real difficult one this and has different sides

On the one hand including a splattering of classics within the 3.75″ line may entice those “sitting on the fence” to start collecting the range, especially with figures not available in any other format which in turn could lead to higher sales of the whole line.

Also including possible variations within 1 pack could lead to multiple sales by individuals of that pack

if you can make 4 different Haemovores some people will buy 4 packs so they can display them all

There is also the “core” buy everything brigade but they wont be enough on their won to make a figure successful.

On the other hand mass market retailers and many of their customers will not even have heard of Haemovores and they could see it as moving to far away from their intended markets.

Remember Character sell to retailers and they are key. if they dont buy, we dont get.

Doctors would not be a problem i think.

These figure ideas are great. They have to make the money from the mold investment and this is a better way of going than plain repaints that weve seen so far.
They could do the same with Autons.

🙁 Sad. Wish that it was 5 scale because I can’t see a body swapping 3.75 figure working.

      February 4th, 2015 - 6:14pm

And also, out of interest, how do you know that it’s 3.75, Boobo? Not to be rude.

    • booboo

      February 4th, 2015 - 6:17pm

because he said a while ago and 5″ are UT products which he would not “announce”

    • 76 Totters Lane

      February 4th, 2015 - 6:33pm

It doesn’t make sense to release a new sculpt of a Classic series figure as 3.75″ when all the other Classic figures are 5″ (or been 5″ first in the case of the 3.75″ Classic Daleks), especially with it having so many swappable parts. If it was a Dalek then okay, they’ve already got the sculpt and its easy to do, but not with a new design.

    • The Final Adventure

      February 4th, 2015 - 6:41pm

      Precisely. Maybe it’s changed, Booboo…

It won’t have changed, he’s not moved company so it still isn’t his position to announce things.

      February 5th, 2015 - 10:06pm

No matter how hard you keep wishing for the line to go back to 5″…… It’s not going too… It’s just getting old with people complaining about this. Be happy that there is even a line to get! I know I am. I don’t care the size.

    • booboo

      February 5th, 2015 - 10:09pm

Character have not marketed a 5″ line themselves for years now, and several years for the classics, there is no mass market retailer demand

people don’t seem to get that

  • Anonymous

    February 4th, 2015 - 5:42pm

Is The Heamovre 3.75? If so, why haven’t they released a classic Cyberman yet? I’d love it if they did Heamovre 5 because the description makes it sound like that somewhat.

I think these are 5 inch releases…I think the 3.75 would be too small and fiddly to have choice of bodies and clothing accessories etc… where as this has now become an established practice with the 5 inch range since it was reduced to exclusive releases.

I hope its 5 inch…I like the 3.75, but the 2 or 3 5 inch figures we get a year is really something to look forward to.

Personally I’m not interested in the play sets so I would be tempted by single figure release.

    • booboo

      February 4th, 2015 - 11:51am

on the flip side i think many people would have purchased the playsets just to get the figures

    • Ian

      February 4th, 2015 - 12:53pm

Some Tescos have the playsets reduced to £2.00. Cold War, Dalek and Hide.

Unless they add articulation that would be a bit silly. (Maybe they could package the Cherubs as an accesory?)

Good Point. He has said we would have a Missy figure so I assumed it would be 3.75″ for her.

    • Sam Richard Bentley

      February 4th, 2015 - 9:10am

He’s said in past about Haemovore 5″ figures. One can only assume that those are 5″ as he’s made no reference to 3.75″ Haemovores. Also seems an odd place to start the classic 3.75″s, excluding Daleks.

As for Missy – two completely different sculpts would indicate a 5″ and a 3.75″ figures.

    • booboo

      February 4th, 2015 - 9:29am

he already said a while back these are all 3.75″

we assume any 5″ stuff would be for UT toys to announce anyway

I don’t think you would see mention of it here

Character haven’t marketed any new 5″ figures themselves for several years now

  • TheExtremeBlueTARDIS

    February 4th, 2015 - 7:39am

I find it strange how they are randomly deciding to bring out the Haemovores first in the Classics range. Hopefully it looks okay..

    Reply
    • booboo

      February 4th, 2015 - 8:02am

maybe they had been sculpted for 5″ and so can be shrunk for tooling

there are probably numerous sculpted and abandoned figures over the years we know nothing about

we have seen several as well, Lazarus, yeti, The flood, Hurndal Doctor, 2nd Doctor in fur coat

    • TARDISGuy

      February 4th, 2015 - 12:19pm

I didn’t know about the Hurndall figure. To think there’s a parallel universe out there where all of those were released.
Haemavores do seem an odd place to start but, hey, Character love using sculpts and Curse of Fenric is a fantastic story

    • TheExtremeBlueTARDIS

      February 4th, 2015 - 4:00pm

Some of them I didn’t know either, I always find it interesting when you discover figures that were never made.

Was the Lazarus figure going to be in his humanoid form or alien form?

    • booboo

      February 4th, 2015 - 4:01pm

humanoid, Mark Gatiss tweeted it a while ago, then there was also the Owen Torchwood figure which looked fantastic

    • TARDISGuy

      February 4th, 2015 - 8:49pm

That one upset me. Having several Jacks, Gwen, Tosh and Ianto but no Owen is criminal. I would point out, too that on the commentary on The Lazarus Experiment, Mark Gatiss said that Character were planning a Lazarus monster figure like the Racnoss one but it never went ahead
