Through the ruin of a city stalked a little boy…”

Terrance Dicks was the bestselling author of 235 books for children, and is widely credited with not only teaching generations of children to read, but instilling in them a life-long love of reading.

That would have been achievement enough, but he was also writer, storyliner, script editor and producer of some of the most popular TV shows — best known for his work on Doctor Who, but with credits ranging from The Avengers to Crossroads, and Space: 1999 to the BBC’s ‘Classic Serials’ of the 1980s, including Jane Eyre, Oliver Twist and Vanity Fair.

With access to Terrance’s treasure trove of paperwork, and new interviews with those who knew and worked with him, Written by Terrance Dicks is the definitive biography of his life and work. This is Terrance’s own story.

Simon Guerrier has written countless Doctor Who books, comics and audio plays. He’s also the author of Sherlock Holmes: The Great War and has produced a number of documentaries for BBC Radio 3 and Radio 4.

Casebound Hardback with cover artwork by Andy Walker: 156mm x 244 format; 420 pages in black and white, plus 12-page photo insert in black and white and colour.
