Dr Who Figurine Collection #19 SKaro City Dalek

Celebrate 50 years of Doctor Who this fantastic new figurine collection. The series draws from every era show and includes all eleven versions of the Doctor plus his greatest monsters.

dalek-19

All the figurines are carefully produced in 1:21 scale, and cast in a specially formulated metallic resin before being painted by hand and individually numbered.

The specially formulated resin and high quality sculpting allow the figurines to reproduce an incredible level of detail right down to the mesh in the Silurian Warrior’s uniform and the controls on Davros’s console.

Each figurine recreates a specific moment from the TV series in loving detail and every sculpt is based on detailed study of the original production photography, props and drawings.

The collection features several different versions of the Daleks and Cybermen allowing you to trace their evolution over the years.

This is the definitive Doctor Who figurine collection.

They’re spheres not eggs. Eggs are quite different.

And Totter is right, you shouldn’t need to put up with broken figurines.

Ever since they were called that in alsylum

I thought they were called “Dalek bumps” after The Curse of Fatal Death (also Time Lord slang for a part of the female anatomy apparently).

Actually, they weren’t called ‘eggs’ in the Dalek Asylum. That was one of the Daleks attempting to say ‘exterminate’.

If it’s the same as the 5″ Character Options Daleks, then Teclis Blue is the shade you want.

No they can’t, but when many people start having problems there are definite issues.

    • Trenzalore

      April 25th, 2014 - 2:49pm

It doesn’t seem to me like many people are having problems. It’s just the people who have had problems are louder than the people who haven’t.

    • booboo

      April 25th, 2014 - 3:00pm

that is very true, and there are also huge variations in what different people would call “acceptable”

There are however many people commenting on their facebook page and other sites about the painting of these so this is something they need to address i think

      April 25th, 2014 - 3:01pm

I’m glad you have a very good condition figure that looks very good.

I too would like to have very good condition figure that looks very good, after all I paid the same price you did so therefore should get the same.

Perhaps if you received the figure I got then perhaps you would also be complaining.

    • Trenzalore

      April 25th, 2014 - 3:43pm

I would complain about the sculpting definitely but I’m not too bothered about the paint. As I said below I have already had a few figures with dodgy painted but have decided to ignore it since they have explained it’s hand painted and there’s bound to be problems.
But I agree with everyone that they could be doing a little more to resolve this problem 🙂

    • JDP Manjoume

      April 25th, 2014 - 4:00pm

The paint job on mine is fine, the gunstick on the other hand….

    • Me

      April 26th, 2014 - 2:29pm

Considering the price of the magazine, the figurines should be a lot better than they are. The only figurines I have seen which I feel are acceptable would be: Davros, The Weeping Angel, The Silurian, The Last Dalek, The Silent and Omega.

    • Moodbeam

      April 27th, 2014 - 4:32pm

If you had received the figurine I got I think you would be saying something different right now. I’ve not complained once so far even though I’ve had some figures that are far below the standard I would expect. Yet the Dalek I received this week is truly awful. The globes are barely painted blue, there’s white paint blobs all over the dome from the painting of the lights, there’s black lines all over the sides of the ‘railing’ on the dome, the grey line around the middle of the Dalek has made it’s way to almost every part of the figure…

    • Moodbeam

      April 27th, 2014 - 4:35pm

…the black paint which is supposed to cover the base has also made it’s way up the body of the Dalek, and, finally, the gunstick is bent upwards to a very noticeable degree. I understand they’re all painted by hand but when I’m paying good money I don’t expect work this shoddy. If I saw it in a shop I wouldn’t buy it so why would it be any different just because it came through the post. The figure is below the standards I expect and that I’ve been promised, it’s therefore well within my rights to request a replacement which is what I’ve done

    • The Werewolf

      April 27th, 2014 - 4:45pm

If people didn’t demand replacements for paintjobs they could modify themselves there’d be more figurines left for replacements for people who actually need it, and to make sure more subscribers get their figurines as soon as possible and enough for the shops too.

That said, if you think the paintjob looks like it was applied by a half-blind monkey, then go for it. The amount of effort Eaglemoss put into it was insufficient (in your case that is) and should have more time spent on it.

      Good on you moonbeam

    • The Werewolf

      April 27th, 2014 - 4:46pm

Just in case, “good on you” is not sarcasm, it is genuine.

    • Moodbeam

      April 27th, 2014 - 5:27pm

      @ The Werewolf
      1) I shouldn’t have to repaint it myself, I pay for it to be done for me.
      2) I do actually need it. If they don’t have enough to supply the demand that’s not my fault; perhaps if they didn’t make such a mess of so many of them they wouldn’t have a demand which is outstripping supply. They’re now launching this in America; perhaps they should think about sorting out the issues over here first?
      3) Shops should come second to subscribers; we give them a guaranteed income, not shops.
I’m yet to see a decent Skaro City Dalek.

    • Moodbeam

      April 27th, 2014 - 5:29pm

I think they’ve obviously had issues with this batch but I’m hoping it doesn’t happen again. I’ve received much more complex figures with no problems at all (Fourth Doctor for example) so to get a Dalek with quality this poor really upsets me. I hope my replacement is better. They need to sort out their quality control and check issues the first time they go out; it’s no good waiting for people to request replacements. I dread to think how high their waste costs are what with replacements and having to pay for another parcel to be sent out.

    • Moodbeam

      April 27th, 2014 - 5:32pm

If they get my stringent quality control checks in place before they send out issues I’m sure they would save a lot of money and would also have much happier customers. This collection has the potential to be amazing but it won’t be until they sort out these problems. We’re eight months in now; I’ve had hoped they would have got everything in hand by now. Anyway, other than my Dalek, I’m really enjoying collecting these and I can’t wait for my next delivery.

I’m very disappointed with this figurine, the hemispheres are poorly painted, the sucker arm was bent out of shape. (I managed to straighten the arm but the plunger is still at an odd angle.

Eaglemoss spend far too much time on their Facebook page uploading ‘funny’ Who videos & pictures, instead of actually sorting out their concerned customer’s poor quality control issues…

very true. it’s shocking, I asked many complaints, received no reply, the only reply was a video from youtube of weeping angels. 😡 My Tom Baker was awful and my vashta nerada was weak. If the Judoon commander is bad which im getting tomorrow i may stop collecting.

They’re incredibly well made, unfortunately far too many of them aren’t painted very well. The model itself though is very good. If you can find one in a shop that’s well painted then I too would recommend buying it.

    • Trenzalore

      April 24th, 2014 - 8:20pm

On most of my figures there has been some kind of paint application problem but I’ve just decided to ignore it. Since it’s hand painted and they haven’t covered the fact it’s hand painted, people should have expected slip ups.
