Dr Who Figurine Collection #17 4th Doctor

Dr Who Figurine Collection #17 4th Doctor

Celebrate 50 years of Doctor Who this fantastic new figurine collection. The series draws from every era show and includes all eleven versions of the Doctor plus his greatest monsters.

4th-figurines

All the figurines are carefully produced in 1:21 scale, and cast in a specially formulated metallic resin before being painted by hand and individually numbered.

The specially formulated resin and high quality sculpting allow the figurines to reproduce an incredible level of detail right down to the mesh in the Silurian Warrior’s uniform and the controls on Davros’s console.

Each figurine recreates a specific moment from the TV series in loving detail and every sculpt is based on detailed study of the original production photography, props and drawings.

The collection features several different versions of the Daleks and Cybermen allowing you to trace their evolution over the years.

This is the definitive Doctor Who figurine collection.

Mine looked dreadful but luckily I’m skilled at painting so I just repainted mine. I have no problem doing that as I love doing it. I’ve only had to repaint/ re touch a few of these figures so I’m mostly happy with them so far.

Got this today, for its size the sculpt is very good but it’s let down by the paintwork I think, with mine having a bit of paint on the chin (almost looks like he’s got a little beard there!)

same mine had an awful lot of paintwork on the chin, in addition to awful wrinkles on his cheeks. There were even splashes of blue on his hat!

I’d say the Daleks and K9 are equally as iconic as Tom Baker.

The Slitheen is fantastic and the most iconic “figure” of the whole 50 years is the 4th Doctor which is an awful figure.

I don’t know why people want companions as figures, because the Doctors are atrocious and therefore the companions at best will be as good.

This series should be non-humans only. Then it would be great. The humans have so far all been bad.

“Human” by which I mean bipedal humanoids, I know that the Doctor is not human.

By which I also mean that a skinny humanoid figure of any sort is going to be risky if a multicoloured paint-job such as the fourth Doctor.

The “human” figures have been hit and miss, but they most certainly have not all been bad.

I’d rather they sorted out the quality for those people who have been getting bad figures rather than just stop making them entirely and punishing those of us who have been getting decent figures.

Pyramids I consider to be the best story, and anything “Pyramids” is flagship. The “Pyramids” figure is the worst paint job so far for at least 2 reasons. Shame given the series iconography.

I’m making bets about the rest of the Doctors. Which episode and which version of their outfits. I’m pretty sure Capaldi will be with his debut and Colin Baker with one of the episodes of Trial of a Time Lord. But the big argument is if Paul McGann will be with his movie outfit or with Night’s one.

Got Mine today, The detail and everything was fantastic just like the Vashta Nerada and Slitheen, but the paintwork was appalling on all three of them. and all of my magazines were ripped and crumpled. πŸ™

But other than that, they look beautiful.

Got my 3 today, and although the paint job is good on Tom, he still like the other 2 doctors has no great likeness, although for the scale I guess can’t complain.
I have a Dary Dixon 10″ figure from The Walking Dead and the likeness is amazing but it is such a big figure that it enables the mould/paint to be so much better I guess.
Nice to finally see a classic figure at last though πŸ™‚
