Dotor Who Twelfth Doctor 8″ Figure (Cancelled)
Doctor Who Twelfth Doctor 8-Inch Action Figure
This item in now cancelled
The wait is over! The Twelfth Doctor has been revealed and Bif Bang Pow! is proud to introduce the Twelfth Doctor in an 8-inch scale EMCE action figure! Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor stands about 8-inches tall and features real fabric clothing, accessories, and multiple points of articulation. Ages 14 and up.
Produced by the BBC, Doctor Who is the longest-running sci-fi TV series in the world. The award-winning show presents the adventures of a time traveler known simply as “the Doctor.” Along with his companions, this mysterious Time Lord journeys through time and space using his TARDIS, which appears from the outside to be an ordinary police phone booth.
The Twelfth Doctor!
by Bethany Grenald
I was really excited to hear that Peter Capaldi has been chosen to be the 12th incarnation of Doctor Who! Of course, for us, the announcement immediately threw us into high gear! We are licensed to make Doctor Who action figures, and we want to be sure that fans can get their hands on their 12th Doctor action figures as soon as possible!
So what does this mean? As soon as we heard the announcement, we began making the sculpt for the action figure’s head. It takes a long time to create a sculpt that meets our standards. We also need to get it approved by the BBC and the actor himself.
Once we get a sculpt approved, we’ve got to wait…

August 18th, 2013 - 11:23amIn the good old days it started in the Autumn and ran non-stop until the end of the next Summer.
You can’t beat that, even if you set it to today’s episode length we’d still have far more episodes.
Sam Bentley
August 18th, 2013 - 12:35pmAlso if it was like the ‘good old days’ we would have about 4 20min episodes spanning over a matter of weeks.

August 18th, 2013 - 3:30amThat’s pretty damn good. Very distinguished, and nicely disproves the “Capaldi is ugly” rubbish that’s doing the rounds on some corners of the internet.
I’m really impressed with BBP’s commitment to the show these days, and am far more interested in their figures now than the Character’s range. Just a shame it takes so long for them to turn up in the UK.
booboo
August 18th, 2013 - 10:15amwouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t cost so much to get stuff sent from the USA
you would think in this day and age they could get a parcel from one side of the world to the other for a reasonable price

Ryan Denyer
August 17th, 2013 - 10:24pmIt was during filming for The Time of Angels which, I’ve just checked, was July 2009, 6 months after the reveal but we probably won’t get a peek at Capaldi’s costume until January when they start filming Series 8
drjakeyoung
August 17th, 2013 - 10:25pmHe was announced in January 2009, and we got to see some pictures of him in his costume in about October.

August 17th, 2013 - 7:20pmLooks great and i’m sure it will look even better with colour and costume. It looks like they have been working on it for little while, does that mean they know the 12th doctor before everyone else?
booboo
August 17th, 2013 - 7:21pmvery very unlikely
Trenzalore
August 17th, 2013 - 9:22pmSo that mean’s they did that in quite a short space of time, just makes it seem more magnificent!

August 5th, 2013 - 8:37pmi’m ok with that now, got my BBC bargains and the 11th and 1st Doctor in the Tin from the USA so well happy right now
I just wish the Tardis was not so expensive hear compared to the USA – everything BBP is double the price here
Sam Bentley
August 5th, 2013 - 8:24pmSo, I’m assuming, his costume has already been sorted and everything? Very good! I want to see the return of the Question mark collared shirt. And maybe he should have a cane!
booboo
August 5th, 2013 - 8:29pmprobably not but will be soon, enough time to get the figure into production for next yaer
Sam Bentley
August 5th, 2013 - 8:30pmI suppose! What do you think he should have as part of his costume?
booboo
August 5th, 2013 - 8:33pmI think something Jon Pertweeish might suit him
Nicholas
August 5th, 2013 - 8:35pmI want him to wear something Edwardian

August 5th, 2013 - 8:38pmPeter Cushing style
Nicholas
August 5th, 2013 - 8:41pmYeah, but a bit… “cooler”. More Steampunk…
WouldYouLikeAJellyBaby
August 5th, 2013 - 8:45pmI don’t know what I want him to wear yet but want his personality to be joky and or a it dark.
Sam Bentley
August 5th, 2013 - 8:49pmMy mum thinks he looks a bit like Pertwee – I don’t see it myself.
Anonymous
August 5th, 2013 - 8:49pmTom baker look
Anonymous
August 5th, 2013 - 9:07pmI think it’d be cool to have him dark, moody and gloomy one moment then joking around and a bit like eccleston the next, I don’t think he’ll be a complete dark character, Peter is a comical actor, so his doctor I think will he comical too.
Vortexsurfer
August 5th, 2013 - 9:12pmI’ve always liked the idea of the new costume being revealed over time – so he sticks with the Matt Smith costume but ditches the bow tie in the first episode, and then the rest is slowly changed until you’re left with the new costume by the end of the season.
Anonymous
August 5th, 2013 - 10:08pmI think he should wear something dark that makes him look really tall and slim. pertwee like would be the best. Almost like the master maybe.
Scott the Raptor
August 6th, 2013 - 9:21amI’d like something a bit like McGann and a sonic cane and sonic screwdriver.
The Supreme Dalek
August 6th, 2013 - 9:33amI think he should wear an outfit similar to both Pertwee’s and McGann’s outfit.
sheepinafez
August 6th, 2013 - 11:09ami think he should have a tom baker/david tennant look
WouldYouLikeAJellyBaby
August 6th, 2013 - 11:28amI think he should wear various different items of clothing from previous Doctors. E.g Ninth Doctor or Dark Eyes Eighth Doctor’s Leather Jacket, Third Doctor’s Frill Fronted Shirt, Fourth Doctor’s Scarf, Second Doctor’s Bow Tie, maybe? And Tenth Doctor’s Converse Trainers.
the mediocre time lord
August 17th, 2013 - 8:05pmNeeds a grey long coat and black waistcoat
Anonymous
August 18th, 2013 - 1:07pmI’d love to see the return of “edwardian” Doctors – practically every classic Doctor was nicknamed “edwardian”. Also, it seems to be a rule that each Doctor has to wear a tie, a bow tie or a cravat at least once (Eccleston on the pictures Clive shows to Rose in “Rose”.)
Luke
August 5th, 2013 - 8:24pmSounds great
Nicholas
August 5th, 2013 - 8:18pmMay get this along with Characters inevitable 3.75″ 12th Doctor.
dalek 105
August 18th, 2013 - 7:25amthey might make a 5 inch one to
RandomBananaGuy
August 18th, 2013 - 1:38pmThey’d better. Otherwise Peter Capaldi would be very small/tall compared to my other doctors
AlexanderOP
August 18th, 2013 - 8:00pmEven if they never make any other 5 inch figures for current DW series, they really should make a special figure of the current Doctor. So it’s in scale with everyone’s collections.
Doctor Who Crazy Ross
August 5th, 2013 - 8:12pmthis is interesting, I wonder how it will look 🙂
