I am LIKING it! My one gripe is that it has only forward and backward shoulder rotation. I mean, come on! They added an elbow swivel to the Series 6 Doctor figures, why not here? 😕 However, the detail is great, the swap-able heads look great, and the accessories sound like a ton of fun! 😀

The final version will probably have a ball-joint at the shoulders. I don’t see why it wouldn’t being perfectly honest. This is just a mock up – you can tell because there is no joints in the arms or legs.

    • Dalek1234

      June 20th, 2014 - 7:24pm

whats a mock up if you don’t mind me asking?

    • booboo

      June 20th, 2014 - 7:26pm

not the real / finished item

made up from photoshopped images and figures

What we are seeing is the model of the figure – before they have added any form of articulation. It looks as though the shoulders have the, very, very 2005, shoulder joints – but the final product won’t.

    I just noticed something!

If you look closely at the 12th Dr figure it looks as though he has new kidneys but don’t like the colour though to pink 🙂

Should have ball jointed arms in order to recreate one of my fave scenes from TOTD: the clock tower and “Love from Gallifrey boys!”
    😀
This really is a fantastic figure!

Definitely getting this. Wish the info was a bit clearer as to whether it is just one figure with swappable heads and removable bow tie or two figures. If it’s just the one figure, I think I’ll keep it displayed as 11 as it is now pretty much confirmed we are getting a 5″ Capaldi. I hope they put some sort of limited on how many you can buy as if it’s a limited run, it really isn’t fair on people if loads of people buy loads of them.

Looking at the info again, it does seem that it is a Capaldi figure with swappable heads and a removable bow tie. Will try and get 2 if this is the case.

      June 20th, 2014 - 6:55pm

as i have said this is where it would be great if UT would interact with their core collectors

these surprise releases raise more questions than answers sometimes

    • The Other

      June 20th, 2014 - 6:52pm

Judging by the collar I’d say 2 figs and 3 heads

    • booboo

      June 20th, 2014 - 6:52pm

the problem this is essentially a collectors line so if you get to heads many people will want 2 sets

its probably partly what made the war Doctor so successful which in turn has got us this

if it makes people buy the stuff the fine because it will keep going

    • The Other

      June 20th, 2014 - 6:54pm

Although looking at the info again you have a point

    • Nicholas

      June 20th, 2014 - 6:55pm

Yeah, I suppose 🙂 Any news on when this is supposed to be out?

The Other: The Collar on Capaldi has a pin hole which makes me wonder if it’s just the one figure.

    • Dalek1234

      June 20th, 2014 - 7:05pm

but look at the collar the button is slightly scruffy?

  • 100000BC

    June 20th, 2014 - 6:33pm

Still have no war Doctor 🙁
I will try to get this, and hope that at some point a 13 Doctors with new variants set or a rerelease of Mr. Hurt comes out. At the moment I am having to use Little John from Robin Hood as a “younger” war Doctor.

I am so happy. I did not care for the 3.75″ figures as they just looked…tacky, plus all the older figures I have (eleven Doctors, companions, aliens etc) are all 5″ so add this and John Hurt’s War Doctor 5″ (and another sylvester McCoy as the arm broke off and lost that during a move to my new house) and I’ll have “ALL THIRTEEN!!!”

    Also 5″ Clara please!!!!!!!

I’d say that this, and the War Doctor, is evidence that UT are noticing that the 3.75″ figures aren’t really doing it for the fans. I doubt that the 5″ line will re-evolve from the dust – but I would say that we will be getting certain ‘special’ figures here and there very so often.

    • booboo

      June 20th, 2014 - 6:15pm

I’m sorry, this is just so AMAZIIIING!!!!
But, if they make a Twelfth Doctor in his own costume for the 5″” scale, they’d better change the hairsculpt and/or color. After all, Capaldi got a haircut between filming for Time of the Doctor and the series 8 premiere.
    Details aside, I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!

Except that the description implies that it is only one figure, with two additonal heads. It would be good if they would make it clear exactly how many figures are in this set, because a lot of people are getting confused.
