October 30th, 2020 - 4:48pmI got this book today and whilst its a gorgeous catalogue of Monsters and enemies, to say it has every single monster is a white lie. Whilst some are obviously more villain’s like Cassandra and The Wire; there’s quite a lot of omissions. I’ve looked at monsters from New Who only, but I can tell there’s a fair few missing from Classic Who, but there’s no pages for; The Handbots, Sun Possessed, The Peg Dolls, The Repears, The Midnight Monster, Gameshow robots, The Smilers, Eknodines, The Siren, Headless Monks, Sandmen, Time Beetle, Futurekind, Hoix, Isolus, Graske, Emojibots or The Pandorica Alliance is briefly mentioned but scarcely.
I can understand maybe why some might not appear but I’m sure a smaller page wouldn’t have been an issue. Perhaps if there is to be a Villain version, they will all be included in some form. It’s also rather odd to have Brannigan, Bannakafalata, the Vinvocci, the Tritovoeres and the Tivolians, considered as monsters and have Zellin and Rakaya considered as Monsters, but overall its a must buy and I would say its quite grown up in its content. It’s got lots of new information.

If you like your monsters then i highly recommend this. It’s the sort of book where you wish every image was a poster on your wall growing up.

6 are Jodie
5 are series 12 (Resolution was on the boxset of series 12)
3 Tennant originating monsters
and 3 Smith originating monsters
They really could have done better, and if they’re going to do new series monsters, then spread it across all the doctors.
(There are no 9th doctor monsters or anything that started from Capaldi)
