Sarah Jane Smith, Louise Jameson as the Doctor’s captivating new companion Leela and guests
stars Tim Pigott-Smith, Stephen Thorne, Peter Pratt, Pamela Salem, David Collings, Christopher
Benjamin and Trevor Baxter.

I’m guessing you’ve found the ‘at home’ site? I asked them about that in February, and they said it was their sister site, “the catalogue company”. So they must do mail order too. The £999 price is their temporary out of stock indication (which could well turn permanent).

Has anyone who ordered a signed collection Season 14 set from louise Jamesons website had theres yet? Or any ideas when signed editions useally ship. Orderd a few months ago because leela is one of my favourite companions. I’ve never bought a signed one before so just seeing if anyone can shed more light on it and when to expect it. Lack of emails is alittle worrying for me

Has anyone else spotted a decreasing physical quality on these sets? More instances of badly off-centre printing on the spines, more copies with dents on the front cover where the opening fold is? I’ve seen it since the Season 26 release, when the previous ones tended to be fine. Perhaps the factory changed?

Although I display my sets with full covers on view I have noticed issues with the spine.

Seasons 12 2nd edition, 14, 23 and 26 have the back cover now coming all the way to edge of Spine picture which is noticeable when you line the spines up.

Originally to left of spine picture there was always at least a couple of millimetres of grey. For example, on Season 10, 12 (1st edition), 18 and 19.

      My OCD hates it.

      May 5th, 2020 - 5:24pm

Yes….usually top left hand corner or the edges are sometimes bent. The cardboard sleeves can also be prone to damage. That’s why I always try to get it on the shelf at HMV so I can pick a decent one. They should have held off releasing this till lockdown was over. I managed to get one luckily from Argos,,, although people are buying them up to sell for ransom.

I agree about season 13, that one will be crazy. I’ll have to pre order from three different places just to hope one copy makes it to my doorstep.

As for my season 14, still no movement or shipping notice from Amazon, but no Cancellation email from them either, so keeping my fingers crossed.

Pre-ordered this on the day of release from Amazon and it arrived today even though Amazon says 11th-13th May as delivery date. Don’t lose hope guys, hopefully all of the issues that this season’s release is currently having will be sorted once the coronavirus situation either eases up or vanishes entirely, until then it’s just a case of having patience which is obviously difficult but unfortunately there’s not much else you can do. Good luck to all those still waiting and having problems, hopefully your set will find its way to you soon.

I had the same reply from Zavvi, as soon as I heard they got zilch from supplier I went to Argos and ordered online and collected it later that day, I got it just in time.

I will def be going back to Amazon for the next one, especially now that I am officially a Prime member.

I was checking argos website every day but season 14 was never on. Then when i checked after midnight on sunday all of a sudden season 14 was now pictured but sold out. When did these actually appear on their site and how long before they sold out because it must have been within minutes of going live. Im getting really fed up with this now. No point in collecting these anymore.

If you look back over the thread, Argos had stock up to almost 9am on Monday with more then popping up over the next 24 hours. I think you might have been unlucky enough to find the set when it was listed but not actually ready to buy, so it seemed sold out. There were copies all over the country when I was looking at 3.30 Monday.

I’m considering abandoning trying to collect these sets now unless the BBC starts making more copies. I missed the original season 12 release, then wasn’t quite quick enough for the reissue and ended up having to pay double the price to a scalper on eBay. Now my Amazon order for season 14 is on hold with a “we’re still trying to obtain the item” email from them today. This is becoming too stressful!

    • Gordon

If the bbc make too much of them they will be left with a ton of unused stock leading to lost sales and lost profit. These are reliant on selling on their allocation. However with the coronavirus and the sets being made abroad the number of sets that were able to produce has been hampered. I’m sure with this situation more will get produced in time

    • Rob W

      May 5th, 2020 - 11:57am

They lose out anyway as people are selling them at £100 plus when they could have sold all copies through their own (now closed) BBC Store. One copy per buyer, they know who’s bought do IF there’s a problem with the discs it’s easier to sort out.

Well, I got that out of system.

I do hope you get your copies folks. Kepp smiling…

The Season 12 reissue was selling for those prices just after release, but the sheer glut forced prices down to £70-80 a month or two later. Yes, it’s more than the pre-order price, but better than what’s on offer now. If you wait, or check Argos from time to time, you’ll probably be ok.

Amazon Australia have them, but won’t ship to the UK so you’ll need some mates over there. Box looks the same but with different certificate logo I think. That’s what I’ve gone for after missing them at Amazon, ordering from Base.com only to be told months later they didn’t have enough after all, refusing to go above £80 on eBay and not staying up all night in case Argos had any.

Yes they press the same amount of each season. They increased the amount produced after the release of Season 12 to meet demand. This allowed them to release a 2nd edition of season 12 for those that missed out .
