The second edition of Doctor Who – The Collection: Season 12 will be released on 2nd March 2020.

Season 12 was first released as a limited edition on Blu-ray in February 2018, and is being re-released by BBC Studios to bring the total number of copies in line with other seasons in the classic collection.

Season 12 features five stories over 20 episodes, including The Ark in Space and Genesis of the Daleks. The Doctor is accompanied by Sarah Jane Smith (Elizabeth Sladen) and Harry Sullivan (Ian Marter) and was first broadcast on the BBC between December 1974 and May 1975.

BBC Studios have confirmed replacement discs will be included with this release.

BBC Worldwide has announced that Doctor Who: The Collection – Season 12 will be released on Blu-Ray on 2nd July 2018.

For fans of Doctor Who and collectors of Classic Who seasons, the Blu-Ray has limited edition packaging with artwork by Lee Binding and has been restored and up-scaled to HD by Peter Crocker and Mark Ayres. The new release also has a wealth of new bonus content.

Russell Minton, Executive Producer at BBC Worldwide says : “We are doing our very best at BBC Worldwide to restore and bring as many Classic Who titles out on Collector’s Edition Blu-ray, and this starts with being able to confirm one of my favourites, Tom Baker’s first season. We will also endeavour to include additional archive material and exciting newly-shot features where possible.”

Season 12, Tom Baker’s first as the Doctor, features five stories over 20 episodes, including The Ark in Space and Genesis of the Daleks. The Doctor is accompanied in this season by Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen) and Harry Sullivan (Ian Marter) and was first broadcast between December 1974 and May 1975.

    My amazon order hasn’t arrived. I checked and I all I needed to do was make a payment revision as my card had expired in the time I had waited for it to arrive. However every time I try to switch over to my current card it keeps saying a problem occurred. Trying to get help through customer services and I’m sent to automated questions rather than being able to compose my email and there is no route which follows my problem. I just keep getting redirected to the account page to revise my payment method. arrrg

      Absolutely no response from them. Just an email saying the item will be cancelled in 4 days. Tried ringing just an automated message saying sorry none of the phones are manned due to coved-19.
      I’ve tried my wife’s card and same problem.

    I Don’t want to open mine as keeping them all sealed. (Now all as my 2ndEd Season 12 arrived just now). Are they all the incorrect artwork on discs or does it depend on who it was ordered from?

      some are definitely getting the correct discs from Amazon but not had enough reports from zoom yet

      I think it’s a lottery. Pot luck as to who gets the correct disc art. The content on the discs is correct – apart from the issues from the original that weren’t amended. Overall, I’m happy I’ve finally got my copy after many delays but I’m convinced this set had a curse placed upon it.

    Has anybody who received the wrong discs a few weeks ago had their new copy sent to them from Amazon. I haven’t yet and I have had no emails from Amazon too.

    I received mine from amazon yesterday. And low and behold, my discs are still wrong. I wouldn’t have minded waiting the extra time if it meant the right disc art. I’ve contacted amazon but they seem a little unhelpful and I’ve emailed the bbc dvd support thing.And yet to get a reply. So hopefully it gets sorted at some point. But either way I guess it’s nice to finally have the set. Even if it does look weird when you open it up with those discs in

      Mine came from Zoom. Wrong disc art etc. I’ve contacted them as well as the BBC in hopes of getting replacement discs. The content on them is S12 but the art isn’t.

    Mines been dispatched from Zoom! Fingers crossed all ok! Should the disc art be correct but SFX & continuity errors not fixed will the BBC be issuing replacement discs 3 & 5 again?

      The issue with updated SFX shot of the vogan rocket in episode 2 of Revenge of the cybermen has NOT been corrected so assume they are not bothering

    Got mine today.

    Correct labels on the discs.
    The spine picture does have various aliens on it but I honestly don’t mind.

    Just need to check the disc content to make sure there aren’t any problems with them.

      As long as the spine picture is similar to the 2018 release (but of course with the aliens as you said), that is fine. Something is go with Season 23! Haha.

    Hi everyone,

    I was wondering if anyone could provide some advice on what to do with the delivery issues I am having with this boxset being delivered through Amazon.

    So yesterday I had the notification that it would be arriving tomorrow (today). At that point, I had only realised it was being delivered to an Amazon Locker. I ordered the day it came back in stock relieved to get a copy as I missed the first run and thought nothing more of it. As soon as the notification came through, I knew I had to divert the delivery back to my address as the amazon worker would not be able to successfully deliver otherwise. The Amazon Locker is in a public library that of course due to COVID19 is temporarily closed. So even if they could deliver, I could not pick it up.

    I tried to go into my account and did not have the option to change the address. I tried to speak online with customer service to explain this situation. They said they could not change the address and only offer a refund. I asked if they sent it back to the fulfilment centre could I not then change the address and have it sent out again.

    Amazon said the best they could do is offer a refund. I tried to explain that this item is no longer for sale and is a limited edition. Eventually, I was told they can’t explain the details but they can get to the locker and that I would be sent an email when it could be collected.

    Today when they tried to deliver they said they could not attempt the delivery as I predicted. I received an email saying to change my address in my account and contact them again to verify the change. In that email, it also states if they do not hear anything in a number of days I will be automatically be issued a refund. I tried to get through to them online and as soon as the advisor got through to me and went to find out more I was cut off.

    I will try again with customer service but If I can’t get through to them, it looks like that because of the automated system they can only provide a refund but I am trying to maintain my claim to it. I understand it is out of customer services hands and of course, I have no idea how Amazon operates. The only thing I can assume is they will still have hold of it and when it is back at the fulfilment centre, the boxset will just sit there or be listed back online again. With everything going on, I know other deliveries are more essential right now so I am not in a rush to have it sent back out. Even if it is in 3 or 4 months time, I would just know that my order is not lost.

      I’d try sending an email about this, once they reply you are usually asked did Amazon resolve the issue, and if not you can then ask someone to call you back which might help. They’ll have simillar issues regarding lots of other customers so they might sort something out.

      Hi Rob!
      Thank you so much for replying and suggesting that 🙂 I contacted them again through the chat anyway as planned and have just got an update. After explaining the situation once again I was told that the delivery address is updated and will be sent out between April 27th and 28th. They said that was updated in the system on their end. After the chat, I went onto my account to verify it and there was no update so enquired into how long until I would see it from my end as it still stated ‘action required’.

      On the follow-up chat, I was told they can’t deliver it and only offer a refund. Back to square one. I explained that I have been told several different things which turned out not to be true and can’t reorder the item. I was then passed over to the delivery team who were the most helpful.

      Speaking to the agent, they said they can’t redirect the address however they were keen to assist and wanted to at least try and get the boxset to me, given the unusual situation. They said they would contact the station to see if the delivery can be made to my address as it is close to the locker location. It is not a guarantee but I will get an email update in the next 3 hours. Fingers crossed!

      Fortunately, the delivery team agent got hold of the right people at the delivery station and was able to change the address. The email said it was now on the way for a reattempt of delivery but a while later on my orders page it once again said delivery attempted and that action was required on my part.

      It turns out the package was out for delivery with the current driver before the request was submitted to the delivery station. As it was already on the driver’s route to the original locker address it looks like the driver did not receive notification of the re-direction before they attempted delivery. As I received the email another reattempt will be made, this time to my address. It won’t update on the order, it will only show on for the carrier. It may go out for delivery again today, however they are unable to view the planned routes or driver’s availability so they can’t guarantee it will arrive today in which case it should be tomorrow.

      Hi all,
      So even though I was told about the redirection and got through to different teams, I was then told by a manager that actually that can’t happen. So they will continue to deliver to the Amazon locker and after a number of attempts, a refund will automatically be issued. They did apologise as it is an automated system they can’t override but nothing else can be done.

      I have now contacted the BBC DVD line in the hopes that something can be arranged.

      What I gather Robert is that disc content is fine but the disc art is Jon Pertwee’s season 10.

    I just received mine from Amazon and it has the Wrong disc art inside, I have emailed the bbc dvd support but to be honest i don’t really care, its got the right episodes on there and thats all that matters.

      Me personally, i couldn,t live with that. I,d want them perfect after all that has happened before. This was their opportunity with the second run to get things right. If mine come with imperfections it is being returned. I,m with Zoom so we,ll see.

      I too have messaged both amazon and the bbc for the same issue. Amazon said to return it but due to it being out of stock I won’t get another copy. So I won’t be doing that. And aside from an automated reply saying I’ll hear back, the bbc has yet to reply to me. Bloody nightmare. But it’s great to have it anyway

    Just had mine delivered. All correct discs no issues there. 2nd edition written on the bottom and spine shows the artwork with monsters present which is the only shame. Have sent photos to address booboo supplied.

    Just had mine delivered, but incorrect discs (labels) unfortunately. Have emailed Amazon, but obviously they are incredibly busy at present. I can live with it if I can’t get a replacement, tbh there’s more important things to worry about right now. Stay safe everyone

    Really starting to get worried that Amazon won’t send the correct set to those who received the wrong one a few weeks ago. I did get an email saying that they were going to send the correct one last week but I’ve heard nothing since. Well aware that Amazon will be extremely busy at the moment though.

      Not as correct as some would like according to some of the Amazon customers, so i,m hoping its just confined to a certain batch. Corrected with Michael Wishers name spelt correctly and those ‘revenge’ effects fixed.

    I received the wrong copy a few weeks ago. I also received the email from Amazon informing me that I am getting the correct copy. I haven’t had a dispatch email yet. Has anybody else who is in the same position as me had a dispatch email.

      I’m not sure if we’ll get one tbh. Doesn’t show up in the App except for the incorrect copy being delivered.

      The email did say delivery on 30th March though. Fingers crossed.
