Images of this new release on Twitter shows they’ve ALSO managed to cock up the art on the spine, showing the monsters like on Season 23. How. On. Earth. Do you go from having it correct before, to making the second release worse. Surely it should be improved if anything. (Such as the model shot error on the disk) but nope.

What’s the account that shows the picture

    • dazzleshell

      March 14th, 2020 - 1:36pm

Just looked at mine as I never noticed. Tbh. Might have been done on purpose to be another difference for the 2nd Edition.

It doesn’t bother me too much though. I display mine with covers facing forward.

I’ll send a pic to BooBoo like I did with the J-Card. So he can put it on here when he has time

Sorry didn’t mean to post twice, the account with the picture is @MacaulyCairns, who I believe is somewhere on this site too

    Hi everyone.

Amazon appear to be pretty useless due to what their Customer Service staff can see on their systems. So if you have the 2nd Edition but with wrong images on the discs they simply don’t understand and you can’t return it for a replacement as it is sold out. (Even though they will probably receive corrected stock later in month).

I have sent an email with Photo’s of my Set and hope they pass it on up the chain so someone can take ownership. Will post again if anything happens.

I have also emailled BBC but don’t expect reply from them til Monday at the earliest.

I have sent a photo to this site showing ‘2nd Edition’ on the J-card so no doubt it will be uploaded by BooBoo later for everyone to see.

Sorry for those who are having to deal with the faff of the mislabeled amazon sets, but can someone who received a copy check disc 5 to see if the new sky striker missile fx on Vorus’ screen in ‘Revenge’ part 2 have been fixed.
    Cheers 🙂

    • dazzleshell

      March 14th, 2020 - 12:03am

Had a quick look. Must still be wrong. One scene shows new animation, then on next shot is just white model again.

    • OllieOz

      March 14th, 2020 - 2:04am

Ah that’s a shame, this re-release would have been a good excuse to for them to have corrected it, given it has been on recent US replacement discs. Thanks for checking though. 🙂

  • Tom brady

    March 13th, 2020 - 6:49pm

Received mine today and it says ‘second edition’ underneath so there’s your difference. Seems the first release will still fetch silly prices.

    • Anonymous

      March 13th, 2020 - 7:24pm

Did you get the season 10 discs?

    • Adam

      March 13th, 2020 - 8:16pm

Underneath where? I’ve seen images/videos of 7 of the S12 sets sent by Amazon today and nowhere do I see the words “second edition” on the packaging.

    • dazzleshell

      March 13th, 2020 - 8:21pm

2nd Edition is on bottom of J-card.
      Just looked at mine.

Mine is same as others. Wrong images of Season 10 on the discs but correct media.

Gonna see what response people get on here before getting in touch with Amazon and/or the BBC.

      March 13th, 2020 - 8:48pm

I got correct discs 🙂 ordered from amazon as well. I’m so chuffed!!!

    • MIKSK89

      March 13th, 2020 - 11:13pm

I pre ordered mine on amazon back when it was announced as being available and I’m still waiting for mine to be dispatched, and I used top up to pay the full ammount. They are still showing a delivery time of March 31st 2020.

  • Type 40

    March 13th, 2020 - 6:32pm

So, I suppose the question now is will those sets sent out at the end of the month definitely have the correct images on the discs?

    • Rob W

      March 13th, 2020 - 6:48pm

Hopefully this was just the wrong discs and only the Amazon orders sent out early.

  • Adam

    March 13th, 2020 - 5:05pm

The reason that the BBC aren’t going to do replacement discs is because: the content on the S10 discs inside the S12 set appear to hold the content from S12 (it’s just the discs are marked as S10). So The Three Doctors disc is actually Robot. Carnival is actually Ark in Space. And so on

    • Rob W

      March 13th, 2020 - 5:24pm

What a shambles. They re-press the discs then cock up the labels! The only consolation is any scalpers who might have bought this hoping to make a small fortune now eon’t.

    • Andrew Townsend

      March 13th, 2020 - 7:33pm

These maybe worth something in years to come….as a calamitous big BBC F**k up

    • Brett M

      March 15th, 2020 - 1:00am

Yeah I agree, they will probably increase in value exponentially down the track due to the total incompetence of the BBC

  • Adam

    March 13th, 2020 - 5:00pm

Advice from the BBC is just to send the S12 set back to Amazon and get a full refund. They are NOT sending out replacement discs. Sigh…

  • Anonymous

    March 13th, 2020 - 4:11pm

Mines is meant to arrive tomorrow but I know it will come with the season 10 discs. What should I do?

    • Harry

      March 13th, 2020 - 4:27pm

You will have to take it but message the bbc amazon anyone make they know they have got to issue replacement disks or something

    • Anonymous

      March 13th, 2020 - 4:38pm

Could you please possibly inform me of the email for the BBC. Thank you very much 🙂

    • Harry

March 13th, 2020 - 4:58pm enquiry this is what I’ve used but do and anything and everything because I’m not just settling for a refund

    • Anonymous

      March 13th, 2020 - 6:09pm

Thank you both for your help. I have emailed them and now awaiting a reply. From what I have heard it is still the same content but just the disc art is different but that’s not really the point. I ordered this for Season 12 and I expect the actual box set. I will try my best to get replacement discs but I will never order from Amazon again with these box set. They are a shambles.

  • Harry

    March 13th, 2020 - 3:45pm

Contacted the bbc they have not gotten back this is so stupid

  • Harry

    March 13th, 2020 - 3:05pm

How do you contact the bbc about replacing disks this is unreal now come has some got a brain cell left who works on these collection I would understand more if it’s a brand new boxset but this is a reissue

  • Jordan9364

    March 13th, 2020 - 2:38pm

Wonder why on earth some people are getting sent the dodgy disc versions now? Whilst mine is from Amazon but still says March 31 release date. Hoping it doesn’t come early now, leaving people in awful situations

  • Adam

    March 13th, 2020 - 1:59pm

And now it appears that some of the S12 sets that Amazon have sent out don’t even have booklets! Amazon are telling people that they should just send back the item for a full refund and “wait for it to come back in stock again”. So it looks as though if you’ve been sent the S12 set today with the S10 discs in it – well, that’s all you’re going to get. As far as Amazon is concerned, they’ll just refund you and forget about trying to send a proper S12 to you. Shameful display, it really is. I only hope that Zoom (who are sticking to the original 30th March date (confirmed through email today) have the corrent release and I’m not going to be waiting 20 days just to recieve the S10 discs.

  • Adam

    March 13th, 2020 - 1:23pm

If you look on Twitter right now, it appears a few have recieved their orders from Amazon BUT they still have S10 discs in!!! See @TheEducatorTL twitter. Absolutely unbelievable!!

    • booboo

      March 13th, 2020 - 1:26pm

yes people saying this on here as well, no one should loose their copy because of this

    • A4geek

Gang the wrong discs are still in the boxset!

    • booboo

      March 13th, 2020 - 12:27pm

      where has that come from?

Amazon have certainly sent a few out way a head of the given date somehow

    • The Educator

      March 13th, 2020 - 1:39pm

I’ve received the boxset today mate. Amazon CS Manager has no idea how it’s happened either!

  • John Smith

    March 13th, 2020 - 11:48am

I’ve sent an email to Zoom’s ebay shop (where I bought S12) and I’m waiting for a response… Congratulations to those Amazon buyers who are receiving theirs today.

    • MickeySmith07

      March 13th, 2020 - 1:17pm

Mines arrived but has the season 10 discs in it. Contacted Amazon and they can only refund the item as it’s out of stock. I’m not very happy to be honest.

    • booboo

      March 13th, 2020 - 1:23pm

this is a monumental cock up, i would get in touch with the BBC

    • MickeySmith07

    • Type 40

Hmm. Considering there now appears to be another issue with those sent out, I’m happy to wait for a later dispatch.

  • Anonymous

    March 3rd, 2020 - 1:18pm

Apparently ALL sets have been recalled, due to them having season 10 discs put inside them in error.
(This is actually quite strange, considering that season 10 is supposedly now discontinued)!
Also the artwork on the spines is out of line too,
so may have to be completely reprinted.
Does anybody else feel as though there is some kind of curse hanging over season 12….?

    • Rob W

      March 3rd, 2020 - 2:52pm

Yes, one almighty cock-up and yet more resources wasted which ought to be spent on future releases.

    • Gordon

      March 3rd, 2020 - 3:43pm

They would be insured against this sort of thing. Plus it’s the manufacturer(Sony dadc) that’s cocked up. They are fitting the bill

    • Ricky

      March 3rd, 2020 - 5:00pm

I know someone who got one of these sets, it’s not spare season 10 discs that have been put in the sets, it’s just they got the artwork wrong , the actual discs do have the correct content i.e season 12.

    • Chris

      March 3rd, 2020 - 5:06pm

Heh heh. No curse, just shoddy work.

Mistakes happen, I know, but come on. This is a limited edition product, which people pretty much have to pre-order if they want to be sure of getting one, that then can’t even meet it’s release date. Consistently. The list of mistakes with this range is seemingly endless too. (Season 23 spine art anyone? I mean, I don’t actually care about that but still a screw up.)

I’d be embarrassed to have anything to do with the production of this range right now. It’s a mess, regardless of whose fault it is.

    • Alan Dobbie

      March 3rd, 2020 - 8:19pm

It’s a pity that Zoom haven’t informed people of the delay, which is what Amazon does. Had I not read here about the problems I’d be slightly more miffed, especially given that this is the first – and last time – I’m ordering from Zoom. Poor customer service.

    • Rob W

      March 3rd, 2020 - 8:38pm

I’d let Zoom know you are disappointed Alan, Amazon would probably offer you a £5 gesture of goodwill against a future purchase. You never know your luck mate.

  • Simon

    March 2nd, 2020 - 6:20pm

Hi guys, for those who have ordered this box set from I have contacted them this morning as regards to the whole “Sent to Warehouse” confusion. Basically they have told me that the supplier has informed them of the manufacturing error where the wrong season discs have been put in and that this has just simply pushed the release date back to the 30th March. So as far as I can tell you will all still be receiving them just not until then. Hope this helps and gives a bit of peace of mind.

    • The Timeless Child should’ve been the Master

      March 2nd, 2020 - 6:42pm

Thanks for the update Simon. Can’t believe they’ve made the same mistake second time round.

  • Jordan9364

    March 1st, 2020 - 2:00pm

What’s the likelihood of them doing a “Doctor Who: The Collection – The Movie” one of these with Paul McGann on the cover?

    • Gordon

      March 1st, 2020 - 2:54pm

Very likely as part of a wilderness years set

    • Jordan9364

      March 1st, 2020 - 6:30pm

My thoughts too, I wonder what they’d call it?

    • Kenman

      March 1st, 2020 - 6:39pm

They will likely call it “The Wilderness Years” as that sums up all that will likely be included.

    • Kyle Edgecomb

      March 2nd, 2020 - 12:34am

It should include mostly Paul McGann material such as the TV Movie, Night of the Doctor, perhaps a couple of his big finish stories as bonus material, and other stuff during the the wilderness years such as Dimensions in Time, Scream of the Shalka and Curse of Fatal Death

    • Gordon

      March 2nd, 2020 - 9:35am

probably won’t include dimensions partly due to the contractual issues that were agreed upon at the time and the fact that children in need want £60 grand just for its inclusion.

    • Kenman

      March 2nd, 2020 - 11:02pm

As much as Dimensions sucks, and sucks hard, it is a shame it will likely not be worked out. You’d think they’d be able to set it up where they really tout the charity or something as an exchange. But I suppose it is what it is.

    • dazzleshell

      March 3rd, 2020 - 11:55am

With DIT they should include it. It might be £60k cost to do but surely the set won’t retail at same price as the other Seasons if it isn’t included.

£39.99 is a lot for just TV Movie being an official canon story. Even with all the extra content that we expect.

If they do include it and sell it for full price or near full price that should pay for use of DIT. Which as a collector I’d be happy as long as we get everything possible.

    • Toby Price

      March 9th, 2020 - 11:27am

Hopefully if this set is made, it will include the webcasts, especially the sequel to Shada, which stars Paul McGann.

  • James17

    February 29th, 2020 - 7:03pm

So everyone is talking about their zoom orders being on ‘sent to warehouse’ but the release date is 30/3, but I’ve been charged by zoom. Has anyone else had this? It still says sent to warehouse, but they’ve taken my money when its saying it wont arrive till 30th. I’m hearing people say about early batches being ok, but I’m just confused about why they have charged me but saying the 30th… like, is it coming and they’ve correctly charged me, or is the date right and they’ve charged too early. Zoom haven’t emailed me at all, bit wierd.

    • Rob W

      February 29th, 2020 - 7:45pm

    • philip shaw

      March 1st, 2020 - 9:54am

I’m in the same position. It sounds like they have sent them to the warehouse for delivery, charged people before delivery as usual, then were told the discs were wrong and they have to be returned.

    • Mr Neil Martin

      March 6th, 2020 - 10:10pm

    February 27th, 2020 - 7:31pm

There’s one possitve in all of this I suppose. I’ve noticed several eBay scalpers listing this on eBay for around £70 (some more some a bit less) as a pre order so they will be affected aswell… silver linings and all that
