That makes me feel slightly nervous… can Zaavi seek box sets without actually knowing how many units they are receiving? I ordered this box set minutes after the big announcement was made. I was super hopeful this would place me high up In the priority list when the release date came.

      Super frustrated!

Has anyone received their copy from HMV yet? Are all the boxsets okay besides some of the ones Amazon distributed, or is it an issue with lots of different websites sending out faulty copies?

So after nearly an hour on live chat, amazon have no idea about the replacement copies that we were told we would receive today. Amazon gave me a full refund and I did not have to send the item back. I am now trying to find wherelse can I order it. I now know that I will never order any Doctor Who blue rays again after this whole mess.

Thanks for the information. The point is every store is sold out now apart from ebay sellers who are still selling for extortionate prices.

Im going to contact Amazon again as they have given me a refund i didnt ask for, asked me to send item back and £15 pound voucher as good will.

Heres hoping the BBC come up with a aolutuon soon.

Amazon are not sending replacements. I’ve checked. They will refund you when you send the item back but have said there are no replacements being sent.

    • Euan Bird

      March 29th, 2020 - 6:51pm

Wait what. I got an email though a few weeks ago telling me I would receive a replacement. I was also on live chat yesterday and they said I would get a dispatch email today. Amazon have been shocking in this situation. I’m aware they are under a lot of pressure though at the moment

    • dazzleshell

      March 29th, 2020 - 7:04pm

      Hi Euan,

I emailled them yesterday just to check as I got the email telling us to dispose of the incorrect version and had been dealing with BBC too. They pretty much didn’t understand my query and refunded me. I sent another email and got no response.

Tbh. As the app never updated since the original email for the 1st copy and it doesn’t show as being refunded, I’m hoping it is something they cant see and the corrected version gets delivered tomorrow.

Let me know if you get yours.
If not the BBC will be able to replace the discs as it is effecting a lot of customers now. We’ll just have to wait a few months.

    • Euan Bird

      March 29th, 2020 - 7:18pm

Let’s hope it arrives tomorrow dazzleshell. I’ll keep you updated and any others too in the same position if I receive it tomorrow. Fingers crossed you will get it too. I have a feeling it won’t come tomorrow but since so many people are in the same situation, even people who haven’t ordered amazon, I’m sure that the BBC will send out replacements.

Mine is inbound to the states, but with everything going on it is taking longer than usual naturally. Hoping I get the correct blue rays.

    • Joe 90

      March 30th, 2020 - 4:50pm

I’ve had the exact same issue today.

I received the incorrect discs a few weeks ago for the 2nd edition.

Got an email from Amazon on 18/03 to apologise for receiving incorrectly printed discs and rest assured I will receive the correct item on 30/03 and to dispose of the current set.

Just e-chatted them …….they don’t seem to understand as they see I had received the item….they have advised that the item is temporarily out of stock but they can’t confirm if the will receive new stock.

Like everyone on here I’m not sure where we stand now…or just wait to see if the Beeb reply to someone to confirm.

It’s also impossible to speak or raise a complaint on Amazon !

    • dazzleshell

      March 30th, 2020 - 11:01pm

      Hi Euan and Joe,

Nothing turned up today so I have emailled the BBC DVD Support again.

I’ve had numerous conversations with them since the 13th and they intervened and contacted Amazon once they understood the Amazon responses I was getting. Which resulted in the emails we got about the correct copies from Amazon.

I will let you know when I hear something. Just need to have patience as with COVID-19 they might not be open at the moment or be short staffed/working remotely.

I’m glad to have the correct box for my shelf. Just want the complete correct product for my collection.

I hope you both kept your copies though.

    • Joe 90

      March 31st, 2020 - 8:51am

Hi Dazzleshell….thanks for letting me know…happy to wait to see what type of reply you receive.

It doesn’t appear that Amazon have a Complaints Department to raise this to…odd to get an email to advise a replacement copy would be sent and then to receive nothing and no support on their eChat.

Had mine on pre-order since 8th June so fingers crossed this can be sorted.

      Thanks again

    • Euan Bird

      March 31st, 2020 - 9:38am

Thanks for the info dazzleshell, fingers crossed the BBC will send out replacement discs after covid-19 finishes. I’m sure they will considering how many people are affected by having the wrong discs. I did keep my copy thankfully but I’m sure many didn’t which is bad as they will be unable to get the correct discs if the BBC ever send them out.

      Hi dazzleshell
You have the correct box so why don’t you either put the United States version in the box or print disc faces and put them on using a dvd printing kit and software.cheap on eBay and so easy to do.download the disc images from the internet then use software to print it then stick it on over the incorrectly printed disc.just a thought if you are struggling to get a corrected copy.
      All. the best

    • dazzleshell

      March 31st, 2020 - 2:09pm

      Hi Andy.

I do have a dvd printing kit. That would be worse case scenario. Unfortunately my 4k Bluray player cant read discs with home printed covers. I have a copy of ‘Dimensions In Time’ on one for example.

Joy. Still got my health though so all is good.

It’s one shot of the Skystriker that’s faulty in part 2 on Vorus’ screen at 04:03. The rest play fine. The annoying thing is that said shot is right next to another shot where the FX work. So new FX, then a cutaway and then cutting back it’s the old model shot.

    • The Ergon

      March 29th, 2020 - 3:27pm

They shouldn,t have bothered. The only effects that needed updating were the outside shots of Nerva Beacon and that tombola drum voga surface at the end of part 4.

  • James

    March 29th, 2020 - 9:58am

Why didn’t they just reprint the correct discs before re-release? Yes it would have taken a little longer to wait but then they wouldn’t be bombarded with complaints.

I got mine today, but the disc tray was damaged, the discs themselves were fine but the tray had snapped. I have put a bit of cello tape around the broken tray for now. I can’t find any replacement trays anywhere and don’t really want to send to back after waiting a long time for it to arrive (I know, I’m very petty). But if anyone knows where I can get a replacement tray, please let me know

Mine arrived damaged too. The external box crushed. No discs effected but very disappointing. Not petty at all. These things are advertised as collectible packaging so a damaged box can defeat the object. Very relieved to receive it at all though but wish there was a way of replacing.

There have been no changes made to these discs.
They will be the exact same as the 2018 first edition discs (although obviously the replacement discs for Sontaran Experiment and Revenge are included rather than the original faulty discs). Anything that wasn’t fixed on the replacement discs has not been rectified. If they had rectified it, they would have to issue replacement discs again for anyone who has the original first edition.

I do think in the light of what is happening it would have been easier all round if the original release date had been kept.

They BBC should have put out a statement advising that some copies might have the wrong discs and then those who need to could request replacements via the BBC DVD Support team.

The fact they seem to have reproduced the boxes too as well as the discs is a waste of resources.

I still hope my corrected copy from Amazon arrives in a few days. But knowing my luck it will be the same as my first one.

Amazon, my wife orders them for me, we haven’t had any problems with 10,18,19,23 or 26.

I think probably best to contact the BBC rather than Amazon as the problem may be across all stock issued. Does anyone have the contact email for the BBC?
