Doctor Who Fugitive Doctor and Tardis Collector Figure Set

Online Exclusive announced by Character Options

Character Options is excited and delighted to announce that, for the first time, the Fugitive will join her esteemed other incarnations with her own figure set in this latest Online exclusive Doctor Who Figure set.

Inspired by the Doctor Who episode entitled “Fugitive Of The Judoon”, Character Options is proud to present this figure of the mysterious Fugitive Doctor along with her very own TARDIS! Both are presented in this specially designed 60th Anniversary window packaging, which has been designed to wow even before it’s opened.

Set Contents at 5.5 Inch Scale:

  • 1 x Fugitive Doctor Figure.
  • 1 x Division Blaster Accessory
  • 1 x TARDIS with opening doors

This incarnation of the Doctor is shrouded in mystery. The Thirteenth Doctor first met the Fugitive Doctor (played by Jo Martin) when she was hiding out as ‘Ruth Clayton’, a tour guide living in Gloucester. Using a Chameleon Arch, she’d re-written her DNA to appear human and buried her TARDIS below ground where it could never be found. She was hiding from her former employer, a mysterious Time Lord agency called ‘The Division’, who had hired the Judoon to track her down. With the arrival of the Judoon and Thirteenth Doctor, the Fugitive Doctor’s secret couldn’t be kept for much longer.

Ruth flees with the Thirteenth Doctor to a lighthouse she remembered as a child, but what they discover there only deepens the mystery. Sensing something familiar, the Thirteenth Doctor discovers her own TARDIS from the long past, and when Ruth breaks the fire alarm within the lighthouse it triggers a reversal of the Chameleon Arch. Instantly the Doctor once more, she teleports herself and the Thirteenth Doctor into her TARDIS and takes off to confront the ‘Division’. The Thirteenth Doctor is hugely disturbed by the fact she cannot remember being this incarnation but recognises the truth that she undeniably had been. Now free, this no longer fugitive Doctor leaves for further adventures and would go on to meet her Thirteenth self a handful of times, as a projection of the Matrix, and then again as a holograph.

The full story of the Fugitive Doctor remains undisclosed and only time will reveal the full truth… as it always does.

Al Dewar, Creative Director, commented:

“Well, it’s finally out there! And safe to say this is one of the most special Doctors I’ve ever worked on. It’s been under wraps for well over a year and a half which helped keep the secret. Jo Martin, who was utterly delightful to work with when creating this set and we also give her rather lovely TARDIS a wee overhaul as well, with the original flat roof being replaced by a slightly angled one, with replacement lamp and nice little undercuts between the roof pillars. There is also one neat little easter egg in the pack we hope collectors enjoy. All in all, this is a truly great set.”

The online exclusive costs £39.99 and will include postage to UK addresses.

I like it. Just purchased one – first attempt. Now if Character could do more inserts for the other Tardis I’d be pleased – free pdf’s to download on their website maybe?
Shame it’s not electronic but I suppose I can’t have everything.

Feel sorry for the Guys who wasted 9 hours or more trying to buy this Set, life’s too short for that.

7 1/2 hours later I wanted to give up. I tried 3 different devices, 4 different browsers and kept clearing my cookies and cache. Still met with the error on the payment tab.
Asked my friend to try, went through straight away.
So glad I managed to bag one, but so frustrated by the process.
Love the look of this. It’s exactly as I wanted if they did this character so looking forward to it arriving.

I’m really excited about this set. Been waiting for the figure to be announced ever since the episode first aired, and to get an updated TARDIS too is even better. The new packaging is pretty cool too.

Just replying to myself and for the others lmao. From the video with Jo Martin, the Tardis itself actually has a speaker grill. So hopefully an electronic variant might come soon?

    • FH

      January 22nd, 2024 - 7:43pm

Every TARDIS they do has a speaker grill because they use the same mould for every TARDIS regardless of whether it’s electronic or not, so unfortunately this isn’t a sign that there’ll be an electronic variant. Which is a shame because it’s a nice TARDIS.

Great to see the Fugitive Doctor get the release she deserves!

Unfortunately though I won’t be purchasing this. I can’t justify £40 for 1 figure given I’m not interested in the TARDIS and it would just sit at the back of the cupboard rather than on display with my figures. Not a criticism of the price point, but just not viable when I’m only interested in half of it.

However, I’ll be keeping an eager eye out for the eventual release of the glasses variant. I expect it’ll be in a B&M 3-pack or 2-pack (likely with Judoon rerelease, 13th rerelease or maybe a Dan figure if we’re lucky), but we will see.

Also gives me hope we will eventually see a Dhawan Master! My most wanted figure by far!

I know what you mean Tim. I would much rather a few new 3 figure packs. I did buy it but i think i will be selling this TARDIS and others on in 2024.

    • Doug Who

      January 22nd, 2024 - 6:36pm

      Hi Tim! Been a while!

Yes I agree with you. I don’t collect the TARDIS packs for reasons of space apart from anything else. A single release variant with glasses down the line will be great.

    • TimelordTim

      January 22nd, 2024 - 9:51pm

Hi Doug! Yep, I still check this website very regularly but been a while since I commented on a release.

I’m glad I’m not the only one Doug and Anon, it’s certainly a space issue for the TARDIS’s, whilst the variants are great I’m not really that fussed about slight changes in colour, roof shape etc, a few TARDIS across the eras is enough for me.

Personally hoping the glasses release will either be single release (I’d go up to £20 but would expect it to be £15) or better yet a 3-pack; reckon they could do a Dan head sculpt as the new thing for the pack alongside a 13th rerelease for a Flux set. But I’d be happy with any combo of figures that allowed me to get a Fugitive without a TARDIS.

American fan here – this figure looks beautiful!!

Any tips on ways to get this from across the pond? I could order through the website, but shipping through Character would put this past $80 USD, which is very steep for my budget. I’m a casual collector who tries to get at least one of each Doctor (which means so far I’ve already missed the 14th regeneration figure but that’s another story). Any advice would be appreciated – thanks!

I see comments from people aghast at the 39.99 price tag but its the same as the 2nd Doctor in fur coat and Tardis set. That literally was just him in a new coat and slightly changed Tardis – so wondering why all the negative comments. As always, you don’t have to buy if you don’t want to and secondary market will have the usual field day with upped prices.

Given that the figure is almost certainly an all new tool which is very rare for Character Options now given how expensive making new molds is the price makes sense to me.

I give up!!!!! 5 hours and the problem still exists!!!!! Why will CO not sort out its website?!!!! No one can buy anything from their website. Unless you are one the lucky few who managed to buy something. With the annual B&M hunt and this website nonsense buying Doctor Who action figures has become a really unenjoyable activity.

Totally agree, it is a very unenjoyable activity trying to acquire the Character figures whether through the thankless tasks of B&M or the CO website

Absolute stress, endless error messages, saying invalid address details, despite being logged in with everything they have on record. After hours of trying a payment option with PayPal came up. PayPal took the money, but the order didn’t complete without their website crashing. Sure I’ll get the money back, but that’s an extra inconvenience one could do without

Would be interesting to see if Character would have success launching crowdfunding campaigns on their online store, to get certain figures or sets made that they otherwise couldn’t afford to, similar to Hasbro’s HasLab. That way everyone who helps fund it is guaranteed their item. Still can’t order this new set after about five hours trying on and off.

CO don’t own the rights to DW or Any of the people/monster designs. No matter how much Kickstarter raised. you have to Licence the image /person fees. then clear fees with said person if say Dan etc. Then get it made. Then get it approved by BBC, then approval of John Bishop (example only) or Monster if say Yeti, needs the Haisman estate clearance and approval.

The sculpting molds cost 200k+ but it all falls at the BBC rights or Terry Nation,Robert Holmes etc. I would love to be able to pay for Jamie and Zoe say. but it’s all rights and costs

    • JRT!

      January 23rd, 2024 - 3:56am

So you’re saying Hasbro can do whatever they like with Marvel or SW but CO has a lot to go through to get something out there? Only asking as I’m curious about it.

    • Hewy

      January 23rd, 2024 - 6:58am

And if we did manage a Jamie you could use the kilt and legs for another fifteenth variant.

    • Rex F

      January 23rd, 2024 - 7:51am

Bryan’s right, but only in the same way as any other licence and any other figure. It’s the same with all of them, inc. Hasbro and Star Wars – we all know that. Maybe he was thinking in terms of Dave down the road starting to make action figures? Or Dave raising money to give to Character? (Neither of which Anthony meant.) I’ve also wondered why CO won’t go the KS or HasLab model – but they never answer. Maybe BBC Studios won’t let them.

    • John

      January 23rd, 2024 - 10:04am

CO have said countless times crowdfunding isn’t their business model. Also I doubt a lot of Who fans would be in favour, we aren’t used to it.

    • Rex F

      January 23rd, 2024 - 3:46pm

John: Who fans not liking new things? Never! But now you mention it, I can imagine the grief CO would get if they did branch into crowdfunding – it’d not be worth the effort so no wonder they don’t want to explore it.

I wonder what sort of set the glasses variant is going to be. A single release? How much would that be? If it’s £7.99-£10 or whatever the standard is now a days that could basically mean this set is £30 for a non-electronic TARDIS.
