Doctor Who Fugitive Doctor and Tardis Collector Figure Set

Online Exclusive announced by Character Options

Character Options is excited and delighted to announce that, for the first time, the Fugitive will join her esteemed other incarnations with her own figure set in this latest Online exclusive Doctor Who Figure set.

Inspired by the Doctor Who episode entitled “Fugitive Of The Judoon”, Character Options is proud to present this figure of the mysterious Fugitive Doctor along with her very own TARDIS! Both are presented in this specially designed 60th Anniversary window packaging, which has been designed to wow even before it’s opened.

Set Contents at 5.5 Inch Scale:

  • 1 x Fugitive Doctor Figure.
  • 1 x Division Blaster Accessory
  • 1 x TARDIS with opening doors

This incarnation of the Doctor is shrouded in mystery. The Thirteenth Doctor first met the Fugitive Doctor (played by Jo Martin) when she was hiding out as ‘Ruth Clayton’, a tour guide living in Gloucester. Using a Chameleon Arch, she’d re-written her DNA to appear human and buried her TARDIS below ground where it could never be found. She was hiding from her former employer, a mysterious Time Lord agency called ‘The Division’, who had hired the Judoon to track her down. With the arrival of the Judoon and Thirteenth Doctor, the Fugitive Doctor’s secret couldn’t be kept for much longer.

Ruth flees with the Thirteenth Doctor to a lighthouse she remembered as a child, but what they discover there only deepens the mystery. Sensing something familiar, the Thirteenth Doctor discovers her own TARDIS from the long past, and when Ruth breaks the fire alarm within the lighthouse it triggers a reversal of the Chameleon Arch. Instantly the Doctor once more, she teleports herself and the Thirteenth Doctor into her TARDIS and takes off to confront the ‘Division’. The Thirteenth Doctor is hugely disturbed by the fact she cannot remember being this incarnation but recognises the truth that she undeniably had been. Now free, this no longer fugitive Doctor leaves for further adventures and would go on to meet her Thirteenth self a handful of times, as a projection of the Matrix, and then again as a holograph.

The full story of the Fugitive Doctor remains undisclosed and only time will reveal the full truth… as it always does.

Al Dewar, Creative Director, commented:

“Well, it’s finally out there! And safe to say this is one of the most special Doctors I’ve ever worked on. It’s been under wraps for well over a year and a half which helped keep the secret. Jo Martin, who was utterly delightful to work with when creating this set and we also give her rather lovely TARDIS a wee overhaul as well, with the original flat roof being replaced by a slightly angled one, with replacement lamp and nice little undercuts between the roof pillars. There is also one neat little easter egg in the pack we hope collectors enjoy. All in all, this is a truly great set.”

The online exclusive costs £39.99 and will include postage to UK addresses.

I only wanted the ‘Fugitive Doctor’ figure and NOT another Tardis. Luckily, I managed to buy the figure on its own on eBay. Very impressive figure, very happy.

It seems that you only receive the Cyberman gift, if you order a Judoon?
People who have received a Cyberman or ordered a judoon, does this seem to be the case?

@FH they must be doing it to get rid of spares. If it was originally a giveaway figure, they probably aren’t allowed to sell it.

Has anyone had a go at customising a CO TARDIS, trying to make it more screen accurate, putting lights in, etc? If this had been £30 I might have bought one to try to modify into a 60s or 70s version.

My Fugitive Doctor arrived today to my home in the States. This was the quickest arrival, for an item ordered directly from Character Options, coming via Royal Mail, ever. My only suggestion would be that C.O. should go to a thicker, more durable, shipping box. The thin cardboard allowed my product box to have some impact dings in it. But, the figure and TARDIS were fine. Now, let’s get the 15th Doctor and new characters in our hands.

The sooner it sells out the sooner we’ll get the wearing glasses variant. That’s the version I’ll be getting as have no room for her Tardis.

A glasses version will be years off – Al Dewar said they could do that as a variant in future, not that they actually had any plans to do so in the foreseeable.

      The Outcast.

      Don’t worry I can wait.

There will be a variant of this, just like we’ll get jacketless/glasses 14 eventually. They’ll want to recoup as much money as possible from them in the long run.

What evidence is there that this is true vs being a marketing tactic targeted at impulse buyers/ second guessers? Character’s model of rush announce & release encourages a siege mentality that surrounds all their recent releases; 14th Sonic, B&M, Jungle Daleks & Snowman TARDIS.

We are passing on what they have said officially via email and their social media feeds for those who maybe sitting on the fence.

If you require further evidence you should contact Character directly for an answer as they have no presence here.

      January 31st, 2024 - 11:45am

What evidence makes you think it’s not? TARDIS sets do seem to be best sellers, with the recent Ultimate Adventure and Abominable Snowman variants proving to be still very popular chase items, so not surprised that this surprise release is doing so well.

      January 31st, 2024 - 1:15pm

I’m not disagreeing that they’re saying it, I’m just wondering whether they’re saying it because it’s true, or as I consider in my comment, as a marketing technique? I have no desire to contact Character and accept we probably won’t know the answer, but wondered if anyone else had had this thought…

@Martino I have no evidence to think it’s not true, I do find their DW sales strategy interesting/ irritating tho, as I say it’s all about “siege mentality” and this is quite in keeping with it!

Anyone got a problem with their old Doctor Who 5″ figures getting sticky – I’m starting to get worried that Dr who figures are harmful to health

I don’t think there Harmful to health as such but plastic does break down over time to the point we’re (maybe 500 years) it will have disintegrated into nothing at all.
The First signs of the plastic breaking down is turning ‘Sticky” and maybe even blotches or Spots appearing in the plastic. Quite a few of my Original Star Wars Figures from the 1970s have started going Sticky and even developing a Few Spots here and there.
Don’t worry though Your figures will easily last a Lifetime and will easily out last you.

If you wish to wash them and “de-sticky” them there are online
help hints as well. Basically a good gentle clean will put them to rights.

I painted a few of my old Star Wars Figures. The worst one was the At At Driver, it’s Grey legs were very Sticky and a few Brown spots had appeared. I made up the Correct Shade of Grey Paint and painted all his legs. (You cant really tell they’ve been painted at all and the Figure looks brand new now). I didn’t mention this tip before as I know not everyone’s skilled with a Paintbrush. I’m just guessing, but I don’t think I’ll have anymore trouble with stickyness or Marks appearing on these Figures as the paint will cover up any problems and should last my Lifetime.

Personally, I think the best thing about Who coming back in 2005 is the toys. When I was a kid there was nothing. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. If I wanted to play Doctor Who action figures, I had to pretend that Luke Skywalker looked enough like Peter Davison to get away with it. Just being a fan was nothing you’d brag about. To the world at large, the show was a joke, the fans were a joke & merch was non-existent (except the books). I’d have killed for a toy TARDIS but there was no such thing. Now, my flat is littered with them. It’s brilliant – I can’t tell you just how great it is.
And it’s true, public interest has waned again. The BBC were not behind it (again) & it looked like the show was going to die. But that’s changed. Suddenly it’s back again with a bigger budget & a showrunner who just won’t let it be ignored. The BBC’s deal with Disney+ means that they’re committed to keep producing the show for, at least, the next 5 years & to keeping the standard to a level Disney finds acceptable. And the toys? Classic fans are lifers so as long as they’re still kicking, there’ll always be a market. I feel like when we get down to the last 20 fans, CO will still be knocking out figures (in very limited numbers).
Oh, & I couldn’t find a way to fit it in but I’m constantly surprised by the number of girls you run into named Tegan, Romana & Leela. And I think that’s pretty great, too.

And the Denys Fisher figs and Tardis, and of course Paltoys K-9 and Dalek. We did have a little bit of merch but not much. God I used to love my talking K-9! Now I want a lifesize one, lol.

@Trev, I am so with you on that! My 10 year old self would have loved a Pertwee figure, a TARDIS, Jo Grant, the Brig, and a bunch of monsters. Luckily for me, Doctor Who was still cool during the early 70s and you didn’t have to hide that you were a fan until the 80s came along. Mind you, if these figures had existed back then, I probably would have broken them by now!
