Full details of Character Options’ Collect & Build Set 2 unveiled.
Following the sell-out success of Character Options’ debut Cybermen set in the 2026 Doctor Who Collect & Build series, the team is delighted to share with fans full details of the next to be released.
The ‘Vortex Edition’ Fifteenth Doctor Set featuring Mr Ring-a-Ding and Dugga Doo Figures will be available imminently, exclusively online via Character-Online.
This limited-edition Doctor Who Collect & Build “Vortex” set is the second of five launches this year. Each pack includes one or more ‘Vortex’ figures, plus a crucial part of the Collect & Build ‘Yeti’ figure. This second set will add the torso of the phenomenal Abominable Snowman figure that can be constructed once all five sets have been collected.
About the set
This six-piece set includes the Fifteenth Doctor, as seen in the 2025 episode Joy to the World, This is a rerelease of the original Gen 3 sculpted Vortex edition figure but with a revised hip component for better leg articulation. Thie decoration levels on this figure have been pushed to the limit to create what is possibly the finest iteration of this figure to date. The Trousers feature incredible high quality decoration to create that woven tweed effect. The shirt and jewellery details have been updated to the bright yellow version seen in the Episode, and the jacket wash wipe and face details are perfect. As expected, it comes complete with the appropriate colour Sonic Screwdriver accessory.
Joining The Doctor this time is Mr Ring-a-Ding or rather Lux, the God of Light, manifested this time in (bendy) action figure form. The bendy body with clear stand accessory allows for many hundreds of different poses and gestures. He comes with an alternative pop on, pop off ‘grumpy’ face head to add even more character.
Complete in the set fresh from representing the planet Grimbald in the 803rd Interstellar Song Contestant with the catchiest tune ever, is little Dugga Doo. With a poseable head and trumpet-like mouth, spikey space mullet and fluffy striped body it’s the perfect finishing touch.
About the episodes that inspired the set
In the recent Doctor Who adventure, Joy to the World (2025), the Fifteenth Doctor arrives at the Time Hotel, which combines both time travel and tourism in the 43rd century. This unique hotel is a prized destination as each room opens to a different place and era in the earth’s history.
Here, the Doctor meets Joy, who becomes caught up in events involving a friendly Silurian and a mystery briefcase containing an unlimited energy source (the seed star), created by the warmongering corporation Villengard. To stop the threat, the Doctor must jump multiple timelines and, while doing so, uncovers a side of Joy she was previously too scared to show.
Mr Ring-a-Ding was encountered in another Fifteenth Doctor episode, Lux (2025). Here, the Doctor and his companion Belinda travel to 1952 Miami and meet a cartoon brought to life called Lux – the God of Light. Lux uses the appearance of Mr Ring-a-Ding to escape the screen and kidnap the audience; the Doctor and Belinda overwhelm the God’s appetite for light, and he dissipates, fading beyond the universe.
Finally, Dugga Doo is a quirky character and star of the 2025 episode, The Interstellar Song Contest. Here, the Fifteenth Doctor encounters Dugga Doo, a contestant of the 803rd competition. Dugga Doo is the representative of the planet Grimbald and performs an incredibly catchy song from his flexible trumpet-like mouth.
About the Abominable Snowman figure
This pack also comes with the second key part of the ‘Collect & Build’ ‘Abominable Snowman’ (1967) figure: the Yeti’s upper chest. This can be assembled with the head from the first set, while each of the three subsequent sets will be issued with additional parts of the mighty ‘Yeti’ for fans to collect.
Al Dewar, Creative Director, Character Options, said: ‘Reaction to the Dark Water Cyberman set release has been fantastic, and we must thank the collectors for coming with us on this Collect & Build first step. At this point it’s hard to know whether the excitement we’ve seen is just about The Cybermen or Yeti’s or both … my moneys on the latter.
The Fifteenth Doctor set I have spoken about several times and arguably it’s the best of the best. Out of the three Fifteenth Doctors we have now done, the deco and styling of this one is peak, and that coupled with the improved articulation on the brand new (que the Elvis clips!) hip joints, well I don’t think its beatable.
This set also includes a ‘bendy’ … yessss! BENDY! …Mr Ring-a-Ding figure for the first time and it works so, so well. He has a pop on and off interchangeable head a wee clear base, and again just superb poseability. Lastly, we have yet another figure ‘and I can’t believe I’m saying this … but its Dugga Doo with his own poseable head and base. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever foresee that one coming!’
This Collect & Build set will be available to purchasers of Set One on August 3rd 2026* and then go on general release on August 4th and costs just £44.99 .

September 3rd, 2026 - 8:43amMmm…I’ve not had any emails from Character yet about the release of set 3…has anyone else? It’s the 3rd September today, so I assumed we would have received something by now…
MDS
September 3rd, 2026 - 9:58amThe set is to be released in September. Just because set 2 was released at the start of the month does not mean all the others will be released at the start of each month. Hopefully we will be updated soon until then we just have to wait.
War Chief.
September 3rd, 2026 - 11:21amI guess we were spoiled, with the Cybermen and 15th Doctor being released so early in the month…
It’s kind of annoying though….

September 3rd, 2026 - 1:57pmSame Here, No Email Yet.
Daniel
September 2nd, 2026 - 6:41pmI honestly, cannot wait for the next set; I do wonder when it’ll be available to preorder this month.
I despised this one; I felt dirty spending money on it just to get the Yeti piece, as I hate the New Series so much, especially the Fifteenth Doctor and his era. As far as I’m concerning with the build-a-figure being the Yeti, this should be an exclusively Classic Series wave.
Scotel
September 2nd, 2026 - 10:26pmThey only have a finite number of releases and can’t just cater to fans of one particular era.
Be honest: would you be happy if they had announced an all new series lineup with a new series Build a Figure? Of course not, so why impose your demands onto someone else?
Phmab72
September 3rd, 2026 - 12:57pm1st world problems dude.
No one forced you to buy the set.
Daniel
September 3rd, 2026 - 9:05pmScotel, actually, yes, I would; whilst I hate the New Series, I recognize that some more modern fans like it, and there are an abundance of figures we have not received from the likes of Series 7, 8, 9 and 10. I am sure that some of those fans would love to see a wave dedicated to those seasons with a New Series build-a-figure. Personally, I would have no interest in that at all, but at least then I would not feel obliged to purchase any of the sets because I would have no interest in said build-a-figure.
If the build-a-figure is going to be a Classic Series monster, I think the wave the should have went hand in hand with that; as a fan of the Classic Series, I several others should not be burdened with having to spend £90 on two sets just to get the Yeti the pieces. Character Options would be wise to tailor wave releases such as this to particular demographics among their consumers because it is not fair for Classic Series fans who dislike (or in my case, hate) the New Series, and vice versa to have to spend money on sets they have to purchase, just a build-a-figure which one set of fans want more than the others.
Phamb72, that is a obtuse and silly comment because it should be painfully obvious that Character Options forced me and several other fans to buy the New Series sets because without them, I would run the risk of never being able to complete the Yeti.

August 28th, 2026 - 7:07pmThis was the must have Vortex figure set for me because it’s from the New Who era and I love the Fifteenth Doctor! Mr Ring-a-Ding and Dugga Doo are a blue-box-tastic bonus too! But now I’m on the hunt to finish my Abominable Snowman build-a-figure. I just found the head for £20 and now I need the rest. Baker comes a with a big body bit so I might have to go with him on release day!
Radburn
August 22nd, 2026 - 6:21pmSo what date do you think the Liz Shaw/Primord will be releasing on? I’m going to go with Monday 7th. Sept?
Fh
August 23rd, 2026 - 10:02am3rd of September assuming it’s following the previous two.
Radburn
September 1st, 2026 - 7:55pmI’m surprised we haven’t had any blurb yet on the Liz/Primord? It really can’t be that far off?
War Chief.
September 2nd, 2026 - 9:13amI thought it was just me, Radburn…..Fingers tapping impatiently, waiting for news….
War Chief.
August 19th, 2026 - 1:22pmThe 15th Doctor needs a support stand as much as Mr Ringading and the Dugga Doo…
Every time a butterfly flies past my window, the bloody thing falls over again….like Tegan and Liz Shaw…
If it had just been another 15th Doctor on its own, I wouldn’t have bought it, and for this reason…
Fh
August 23rd, 2026 - 10:03amLiz Shaw already? :O
War Chief
August 23rd, 2026 - 1:33pmLiz Shaw has the same matchstick legs as Tegan….so she’ll keep falling over….
I’ll only buy that set for the Primord and Yeti part….
Fh
August 23rd, 2026 - 2:06pmOooh, yeah good point!
War Chief.
August 23rd, 2026 - 2:12pmI’m even worried about the Primord….one of its legs seems longer than the other….a common failing with CO Dr Who figures…
I’ll need to see what the finished version looks like in its box…hopefully any day now…!
The Unlicensed Physician
August 23rd, 2026 - 3:51pmThe Primord reuses the figure for Dr Constantine, who had a gippy leg in his episode where he walked with a cane; I’m assuming CO think they can get away with it here because 70s Who monsters tend to lurch along. Liz reuses one of the Jo Grant models, which just reinforces that this set started off as a B&M product (the short hair Pertwee being figure number three).
War Chief.
August 23rd, 2026 - 4:25pmBut lots and lots of CO Dr Who figures have that longer left leg….from the 1st to 8th Doctors, and lots of other figures…
I didn’t think of Dr Constantine’s coat….
But as I say, I’ll need to see what the finished product looks like….
Scotel
August 23rd, 2026 - 5:35pmThey’ve made no secret of the history of the figures. Of course the figures here are a lot better than they would have been if they’d been released as a B&M set a few years back.
Could they be even better in theory? Sure, but they have a finite budget to work with and these are cases where they could reasonably reuse parts (unlike some other figures over the years that jump to mind).
War Chief.
August 23rd, 2026 - 5:40pmMy needs are simple….I want a Primord that doesn’t keep falling over….
(Same with the Liz Shaw figure, but that might be asking too much…)
Bobby Davros
September 2nd, 2026 - 6:10pm….have you….never heard of……blue tac War…..chief?…..ellipse
Summer
August 18th, 2026 - 2:17pmThank you all so much for your support have a wonderful week to you all ❤️❤️
Andy
August 15th, 2026 - 5:00pmI have to say these are all going on eBay buy bucket loads but without the Yeti parts looks like these are just collecting the sets for the Yeti but loads of both sets now on eBay.
But does anybody know if they are gonna be anymore figure sets for the Limited Edition B&M as it’s now the middle of August we usually get the 1st wave by now then the 2nd in the Autumn or is they not gonna be any this year i was hoping for maybe a history of the Daleks #23 with maybe the Ironside Daleks.
Scotel
August 15th, 2026 - 6:15pmYes there are more B&M sets coming.
War Chief.
August 16th, 2026 - 10:35amThe same thought occurred to me, Andy….but unfortunately I don’t know how to sell things on ebay…only buy them…

Red Five, Where Going In.

War Chief.
August 13th, 2026 - 11:21pm11th Doctor and Amy, dressed as PC Plod…
12th Doctor and Missy…

Sime
August 9th, 2026 - 2:31pmMine’s arrived. Really like it. Great set.
FH
August 8th, 2026 - 5:15pmUnderneath the chest panel of the Yeti torso it is INDEED sculpted, with Yeti ‘skin’ AND a sphere hole cavity specifically based on those seen in Web of Fair (completely with screws, etc). Very interesting discovery made by a user called ‘Doctor What?’ on another site who pulled the panel off one of their Yeti torsos.
RobW
August 8th, 2026 - 5:17pmYeah thought it might be multi purpose as otherwise a wasted opportunity
FH
August 8th, 2026 - 5:27pmIronically, the Web of Fair Yeti prototype figure they did many years ago had the sphere cavity design from the Abominable Snowmen Yeti. Though that’s likely due to Web not having been discovered when they made it, so they only had the images from Snowmen to use as a reference. Pretty funny that this one turns out to be the reverse.
