Doctor Who: Bessie Come Home: Beyond the Doctor Audio CD

Available to order from www.amazon.co.uk

Stephanie Cole reads a brand new story featuring the Doctor’s trusty car, Bessie.

It’s been many years since a certain yellow Edwardian roadster was a key member of personnel at UNIT. As the Doctor’s personal transport, Bessie was on the spot for many of his Earthbound adventures. Those were the glory days, when Bessie stood side by side with the Doctor, the Brigadier, Captain Yates, and a parade of plucky young assistants.

Yet Bessie’s remarkable life began decades earlier, at the dawn of a new century, and it has continued beyond the UNIT years. Indomitably she lives to tell the tale, and is only too keen to do so. Thankfully her new owner, kind Mr Foreman, has time enough to listen to her story.

But a serpent lurks in the shadows of the scrapyard. Someone else would like to acquire Bessie – seemingly at any price. After all, she holds a great deal of information about the Doctor…

Stephanie Cole brings Bessie to life in this intriguing and heartwarming tale from Paul Magrs (The Nest Cottage Adventures, The Winged Coven, The Thing From The Sea).

Really? It’s just a car the Doctor once had what did I miss? Is it sentient now? Or is this actors talking about a car for 2 hours.

    I Adore this website.

    Always there with the news.

I wouldn’t have noticed this and there is one with Romana and Lazzlo written by stephen Gallagher .

This one sounds fantastic. DW still gets Actors like Stephanie Cole. Wow. One of our greatest actors, everything she is in , is showered with accolades. So looking forward to this. In my Diary.

Thanks booboo . Love this place.

I had forgotten there was a Tharil called Lazlo and was imagining there the adventures of Romana with a pig-bloke from Daleks in Manhattan.

Agree with your sentiments about this website! My thanks too to you, Booboo.

I think it’s about time another Bessie was made.
Come on Character Options, Eaglemoss, Robert Harrop, Big chief Studios etc, get your act together.
Last Bessie I bought was in a diecast set with the Tardis and the Doctor also included. (and that was years ago).

Bessie, now I know I was wrong
I messed up, and now your gone
Bessie, I’m sorry I neglected you
Oh, I never expected you to run away and leave me
    Feeling this empty
Your engine right now would sound like music to me
Please come home, ’cause I miss you, Bessie

    Bessie come home
    (Bessie come home…)

This better be about Bessie having a one night stand with the Who Mobile and giving birth to Brum or I’ll be so disappointed.

Almost coughed up me Weat-a-bix. Always thought it more likely to be “Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang” with an extra “Bang” thrown in there, as the Dad rather than the Whomible. Off to listen to The Travelling Wilbury’s “Dirty World”.
