Expecting to be exterminated, they are surprised to be asked to save the Daleks, Humankind has somehow managed to enter the Dalek Asylum – a planet where insane and unruly Daleks are dumped. A spaceship has crash landed rupturing a hole in the planet’s defence shield. If humans can get In, then Daleks can get out!

I always think it looks a bit of a mess when I go into a Toys ‘R’ Us store. Like you say, sad that they can’t keep up to date with some of the latest stuff…

    • Trenzalore

      October 2nd, 2014 - 10:34pm

Despite this, they do seem to be getting lot’s of new, exclusive merchandise recently. It’s kind of like they’re becoming the new Woolworths.

I have to agree with you there Trenzalore, just wish they’d either put this and the DOTD set online, or get them to the stores quicker because I like many don’t have a store within 60 minutes.

The Arthur Stengos ‘glass’ dalek from revelation is really long overdue…considering they made the ‘invisible dalek’ from ‘Planet of the…’ you’d think with a little ingenuity they could modify it….

Yeah that would be AWSOME as only the Dapol ones exist and the prototype on Ebay is way out of my price range

    • VespiformsSting

      October 3rd, 2014 - 1:52pm

I think the unfortunate head of Stengos trapped inside that transparent dalek was one of the most memorable images in Doctor Who and one of the most horrific…I cant understand why it hasnt been recaptured in model form…I really wish character options would knuckle down and complete these sets they start…the Cybermen set is still sadly missing several variants…it seems we all know theyd sell apart from the people who make them…

    • Mark T

      October 3rd, 2014 - 2:10pm

Character haven’t marketed 5″ classic figures for years, they only make them when they are commissioned by underground toys for a niche global market.

There is no saying they wont do these figure in the future

I’m sure there are other figures that people might consider a higher priority as well.

  • stike

    October 2nd, 2014 - 9:22pm

While many say this is too expensive it is actually good value, one SFX dalek on its own costs £15, while two paradigm daleks would cost about £20 therefore this is £5 less than buying the figures separately

      in-store

I see they have just updated their website with the 2 new playsets in stock on the offer – but no figures to go with them

Argos are just as bad, no stock since catalogue launch which was weeks and weeks ago now

    • Dalek The Supreme

I think it’s because all the 5-inch figures are now grouped under the “Classics” logo.

He’s not formally classified as a classic doctor (that’s still based on Moffat starting) I’d suspect it is on their end rather than the BBC.

      October 3rd, 2014 - 12:09am

It’s also so new products for the Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Doctor’s can be made, as there was an awkward period between 2010-2011 where only Eleventh Doctor stuff was made along with First-Eighth things, and it was hard to fit any new products for the other two Doctors within because the branding used for the products didn’t match up.

Actually Matt Smith is now considered a classic Doctor. That is what CO say.

I was in Argos and Boots in Manchester Arndale centre yesterday. Boots had 12th Doctor, Plush Dalek, 8th Doctors Sonic and the Hide Playset.

Argos only had 10th Dr and 11th in Tweed.

Its a real pity they dont get and produce some totally new classic items…. if they produced a new set every three months containing three or four opponents from each classic drs era I dont see how any one complain in fact if they were as good as the Third Doctor enemy set I think there’d be a few delighted fans… I cant understand what went wrong after the brilliance of the Chase set and the third Dr set at the same time I really thought theyd got their act together…

A enemies of the 4th doctor set would be great I’d want it to come with :

      K1 robot

      Zygon

      Magnus Greel

Also forth doctor from tallons of weng chiang would be great and terror of the zygons would be AWSOME

Each to their own, I guess, but they could have included 3 different versions to make it more appealing and with more 3,75″ sets coming (possibly) it’s a bit of a Dalek overload for me.
