Doctor Who Adventures Magazine Subscriptions to End
Due to the increasingly high cost of postal delivery Doctor Who Adventures Magazine will no longer be offering subscriptions as servicing copies is now unprofitable for them.
“We have explored all options, but in the end found that there is no viable way to keep the subscription service going without losing money.
I would like to express my sincerest apologies for this disappointment.
I appreciate that this may cause significant upset for the little ones who love getting their magazine through the door every week.”
Subscribers should get a letter in the next few days with details on how to reclaim any overpayments. If you wish to ensure a regular copy we suggest you put in an order with your local newsagent.
Please note this is the last subscription copy. Doctor Who Adventures will now be published fortnightly with the next issue available on Tuesday June 4th

November 23rd, 2013 - 10:17amDear Doctor.
Do you ever get to do your own stunts. If so are they fun and what are they? If not would you like to do a stunt to hang upside down from the Eiffel Tower?

May 27th, 2013 - 7:24pmi have been collecting for 8 years and this is just bad, fortnightly again? Who came up with that idea
Al
June 1st, 2013 - 4:12pmWhile part of me sees this, combined with the end of subscriptions, as the bells starting to toll, better fortnightly than cancelling. When they stop with the free gifts you’ll know the end is approaching.
The Doctor
May 27th, 2013 - 3:54pmI have been buying since 2010 and I remember it was the cover for Flesh and Stone and the preview of Vampires in Venice. I have been on the verge of not buying this now for a long time, I brought 321, however I’m not bothering anymore! I don’t think the future is bright for DWA anymore – why would it go back to fortnightly in the 50TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR! That’s bad! So, I enjoyed reading my last issue of DWA!
The next issue better have decent content and a wowing cover to persuade me to buy it!

May 27th, 2013 - 10:43amthis mag is epic I got on Thursday so cool. the whisper men are my favourite monster. and the pencil holder is amazing.

The Surgeon
May 26th, 2013 - 12:00pmI’m still confused.
Was the end of The Name of the Doctor a clue that there is now a Twelfth Doctor, or is it just a different Doctor completely or is it an evil Doctor, or a far future one or. . . AAARGH!
I’ve never been confused at Doctor Who before, but this has me stumped.

May 26th, 2013 - 12:14pmHe’s the official 9th doctor
Andrew
May 27th, 2013 - 10:47amNo he isn’t. That was just a rumour. Until it is officially confirmed, there is no truth to it. Until the 50th Anniversary, we won’t know what role he has in The Doctor’s life.
Even if he turns out to be “the real Ninth Doctor”, as far as I’m concerned the real Ninth Doctor will always be Christopher Eccleston, not this John Hurt guy.

May 24th, 2013 - 5:58pmHave you ever noticed that the mini monster armies stopped after the daleks were released and now they are just doing repeats, I hope they do some more from series 7

May 23rd, 2013 - 12:28pmI have been collecting this magazine for 5 years and am frankly horrified that they are going back to fortnightly.
What about when Doctor Who is on?
How will they do the weekly preview?
And why change to a Tuesday?
Of all things!
This is not good news…
cjayp33
May 23rd, 2013 - 5:25pmI can answer one. Subscribers get there copies on a Tuesday, so perhaps to avoid disappointing youngsters who used to get it on a Tuesday, they moved the date.
As for the others, I have no ideas.

May 24th, 2013 - 9:43amFor the weekly preview they will just do it so there is 2 preview per issue when who is on

May 22nd, 2013 - 9:37pmFortnightly now, so I expect:
1. More pages
2. Better quality free gifts
3. More Posters
Maybe a half-the-size of DWM for DWA?

May 22nd, 2013 - 9:57pmI do want more pages. I desperately need more pages!
Mels
May 23rd, 2013 - 8:17amI hope you’re right, but I suspect they will be the same. I think losing the official subs will hurt DWA income (or that’s what they are anticipating), thus doing weekly magazines may not be profitable. It might also be easier for people to get to a store to buy them, if they don’t have to do it every week.
Mels
May 23rd, 2013 - 9:52amI should note I’m just speculating there. Anyways, I have to remember to order this on Tuesdays now… I’m so used to buying this on a Thursday, I’ll probably forget for a while. ๐ฎ

May 23rd, 2013 - 11:52amDoctor Who Adventures used to be released fortnightly in the early years, the quality was no different.
Doctor Who Crazy Ross
May 23rd, 2013 - 9:16pmI know, I got the first issue onwards; and fortnightly seemed no different to the ones now. However, it would be nice for them to do a little more now that we can’t get our weekly fix of Doctor Who ๐
The Supreme Dalek
May 22nd, 2013 - 8:44pmI can’t believe it’s coming out every fortnight now! Why is this happening?
TheMadManWithABox1
May 24th, 2013 - 9:46amMoney, unfortunately companies like dwa & other mags need it to survive
booboo
May 24th, 2013 - 9:49amplus the show off air for months now with one special and xmas and the who knows how long to series 8, plus no SJA to cover.
Must be a struggle to find content

May 24th, 2013 - 10:04amSeries 8 better not be split, because i think it will be series 8 part 1 in autumn 2014 and part 2 in spring, which i really don’t want to happen!

June 3rd, 2013 - 5:13pmHonestly, I wished they’d start a Doctor Who Marathon (from 1st Doctor Era), every Second Sunday, in between DWA Mag Releases! It’ll be a great way & story to publish… (Just my opinion!)

May 22nd, 2013 - 5:52pmi guess it being out every 2 weeks will enhance what they do and the products they give.

May 22nd, 2013 - 4:53pmThis isnt a very good cover for a finale week DWA compered to past ones like series 5’s big bang DWA which had a 3D cover, also why green dosent realy match the importance of the episode and they could have included some sticker’s or something. Not very happy. ๐ ๐ฅ
Moxx of Who
May 23rd, 2013 - 4:21pmYes I thought that two. Every year they have always done a cover that is good when the finale finishes. This time it dosen’t seem the case. Series 2 finale they had daleks vs cybermen, Series 3 The Doctor and Master, Series 4 Dalek, Donna and Duplicate Dr, Series 5, 3D Cover, Series 6 Silent, Dr, Amy and Rory, and now the doctor and a whisperman. And green doesn’t go with this episode it was to dark so they should have chosen red or black. And hopefully they’ll do a series 7 sticker sheet soon!

May 22nd, 2013 - 4:14pmI love that there’s an Antibody on the desk tidy. I love those things ๐
Actually, come to think of it, has there ever been any piece of merchandise with them on it? This is the only one I can think of, unless DWA had them on things before
WHENAGOODMANGOESTOWAR
May 22nd, 2013 - 4:04pmI personally think this will end soon once every two weeks! And they can’t pay for subscription posts!
booboo
May 22nd, 2013 - 4:07pmnothing to do with cant pay – do you not know how much the post has gone up recently? many costs have doubled. It just makes subscriptions non-viable.

May 22nd, 2013 - 4:15pmi personally think there is no need for the price of postage these days, it’s just ridiculous.

cjayp33
May 22nd, 2013 - 4:58pmyes it is.
Moxx of Who
May 23rd, 2013 - 4:23pmI don’t even understand why they removed the Geronimo page in the first place, they had when series 6 and the first half of 7 where on and also while s7pt2 was airing we got loads of 50th news so they would have had something to write about!
Timelord63
May 22nd, 2013 - 2:16pmHmmmm! Subscriptions ending and going back to a fortnightly schedule. Unfortunately methinks this may be the beginning of the end for the mag. Which is a shame as have got every issue since it started ๐
cjayp33
May 22nd, 2013 - 2:37pmI think so. The quality should improve given its not every weeks, but given the lack of info i.e text I don’t see how it can be improved.
cjayp33
May 22nd, 2013 - 1:43pmBooboo you might want to add for people who are unaware that this issue is the last issues subscribers got (where early subscribers were saving roughly 20% per 12 issues apparently) and that the magazine is now out every two weeks.
