i think it would be good if they did a series 6 wave in 3 inch because they didn’t make characters that would be a really good figure in 5 inch (im guessing due to money) but for the 3 inch series 6 wave they could do
    11th Doctor like this http://whoismattsmith.com/gallery/albums/screen/DoctorWho/Series6/Promo/normal_s6promopic041.jpg
    Female Peg Doll
    Handbot
    The Minotaur

And a Silent so we have one for the 3 inch figures

Seriously – Make these in 5″ so they are COMPATIBLE with all the previous collections. IT is ridiculous to change scale. I bet a lot of people are refusing to buy the 3.75 – lost a lot of good will there C.O.

These figures are selling far better than the old ones. Also they cannot make these figures into five inch because if they did then they would not sell after the fluke they made a couple of years back, character would not return to something that would not make money.

the reason why 5 inch wasn’t selling was because they didn’t do much for series 6 they kept doing the same figures but with flesh packs

    • booboo

      November 2nd, 2013 - 4:12pm

because there were not enough orders from retailers enabling them to invest in new figures – the variants were a direct result of that, they had to supply figures of some sort to those few who had ordered them hence all the variants

they had already tooled the figure we got

It is ridiculous the length of time people are having to wait for wave 2 released, figures should be coming regularly to keep buyers interested theywill be forgot about soon.

    • Trenzalore

      September 22nd, 2013 - 9:07pm

I think it’s okay wait, it gives them time to make great figures and not rushed. And they want to wait till we get more episodes so they can make the best characters that people will recognise because they have just seen them. Also if they did them too quickly children won’t be able to get them all as they don’t get much money and need time to collect them all. Also co will make more money if they leave them out longer.

    • Trenzalore

      September 22nd, 2013 - 9:09pm

And they have to base it around other company’s for example with Argos they need to leave them out long enough so they can get into the catalogue.

    • Trenzalore

      September 22nd, 2013 - 9:10pm

Also there is a lot of other merchandise we can be buying once we have all of these instead of spending all our money at once on these.

The Daleks and cybermen are perfect in this wave. Especally as they don’t have any facial features, which is ruined in the human/timelord figures.

  • Exterminator

    September 6th, 2013 - 10:49am

In spite of my criticism email to Character Options regarding the rare chase figures, I have now managed to track down the Doctor with dark waistcoat, Clara red dress, black dalek, blue chest cyberman with arm gun, screaming angel, and the screaming looped angel.

I found 3 in toy shops but had to buy 3 from eBay so I paid more for those.

I think so, I’m very happy with these figures. I can’t wait to see what the future releases will be.

  • Exterminator

    September 3rd, 2013 - 8:58pm

I’ve sent Alasdair Dewar a tweet about the possibility of future waves of figures not having the short packaged chase variant figures but instead doing special limited mail away figures.

Collectors that want the rare’s cut out tokens off the backing card of the figures sold in shops, send these tokens off to Character Options and receive the rare figures in the post.

It seems most of the short packaged figures don’t even make it to the shelves, whoever opens the box seems to grab the rare’s which end up on eBay.

    What do you all think?

    Reply
    • booboo

      September 3rd, 2013 - 9:01pm

not a bad idea in a way but i know whey they are doing the chase figures – its to get people back into looking in the shops and just not ordering online

    • Exterminator

      September 3rd, 2013 - 9:07pm

But the problem is, the collectors that want the chase figures can’t find them.

I’ve spoken to several sci-fi shops that stock the figures and they’ve taken out any chase figures and are selling them separately at a massively blown up price.

The mail away idea would make it fair for everyone.

    • booboo

      September 3rd, 2013 - 10:09pm

its true that some retailers are benefiting (greatly) from this, many have been found in toys r us and the entertainer though

    • Exterminator

      September 4th, 2013 - 8:43am

I realise many chase figure’s have been found in toy shops. I myself managed to find 3, but it was hard work and I had to go to a dozen shops.

Now I go into those shops, see there’s nothing new or rare and walk out again without buying anything.

Buy doing the mail away special figures, Character Options would ultimately sell more figures because people would need to collect the required amount of tokens to send off for the mail away figures.

      Everyone’s a winner!

    • booboo

      September 4th, 2013 - 9:00am

we only have an entertainer and they have had very few figures so we dont stand a chance

it would be interesting to know if Character have ever thought about such a move

    • Exterminator

-its probably gonna be released in 2014
    – all of the sets will come with parts to build the big playset
    – the actually time zone sets will be the main console room and the collect and build parts will be other rooms in the tardis
    including the library .

I have a notion that the wave two figures might possibly feature characters from the 50 th episode and the Christmas one, course I could be wrong.
