I love the new figures and only need the weeping angle to finish my collection not counting the rare ones but the time zone play sets were a bit of a let down though.

They should have used plastic instead of cardboard for the playsets.

Got the doctor yesterday. Honest thought was they released a futer doctor early because that is not Matt Smith! Getting the dalek today I hope it’s good

Got the dalek it’s great. I only think it could have used a bit more attention on the eye-stalk because I think they used a bit to much blue on it but oh well most detailed figure out of the wave.

Personally I think the Ice Warrior and Cyberman are pretty good although Ive only seen photos and not the actual things yey. However they do look good and wouldnt object at all to classic figures being made at this scale…. more room for display and the level of detail (again based on these pics) looks good.

Full range of classic monsters at this scale …surely easier to produce.

I’d be a little annoyed, but satisfied in the long run if they made the Classics this size. Other people would certainly be annoyed about it though.

Why I honestlly think these figures are doing well? There quiet rare and alot of collectors re trying to catch them. I bet if these figures get released into COMMON retailers I don’t think they will do aswell as the 5 inch. I think the only reason the series 6 wave went wrong wass because character decided to bring unpopular characters out like uncle, Nephew, Idris, Ganger doctor and that bearded doctor. I know they brang out an Amelia and the silence plus a River Song for the series 6 wave but there the only one’s I got cos they was popular

forbidden planet newcastle has told me these new smaller (and i have to say they look terrible!) figures are not selling in the shop. they also pointed out to me that the scale is not standard toy scale anymore! Star wars are doing 6inch figures soon and most figures now are of the five inch or larger range. (alien/predator/superman/ect)

No I doubt it. If the 3.75 range fails that will probably be the end of the new series figures for good.

    • trenzalore

      July 2nd, 2013 - 10:05pm

I personally wouldn’t be bothered if the new series figures fail, they are good but a child (who it is aimed at) can’t play with it, they are too fragile and small. Also it will let us focus on other things to build on in our collection.

    • booboo

      July 2nd, 2013 - 10:08pm

“they are good but a child (who it is aimed at) can’t play with it they are too fragile and small.”

Strange, have you not seen the 100’S of pictures being sent in with people playing with them then?

    • booboo

      July 2nd, 2013 - 10:05pm

People must be buying them in toys r us then, i went to 3 today and they had 6 figures between them.

I also saw rows and rows of other 3.75″ figures – have have seen loads of pictures with people mixing 3.75″ figure ranges, something i never saw with the 5″ range

    • trenzalore

      July 2nd, 2013 - 10:11pm

yes but they are quite fragile for example; my doctors head fell off and a cyber-foot fell off poor little fella. Also how do you do that quote thing?

    • booboo

      July 2nd, 2013 - 10:14pm

if your figures are faulty send the back

its done with coding, i will see if Luke can add it

    • trenzalore

      July 2nd, 2013 - 10:19pm

yeah, my new ones arrived a couple of weeks ago, hopefully the parts will stay on. I hardly even touched them, well the doctor already had it’s head off when I took it out of the packaging and the cyber foot just mysteriously fell off. And the quote thing would be good so everyone could do it thanks for asking Luke about it 🙂

    • Dalek Sec

      July 3rd, 2013 - 4:27am

Actually Character Options Figures are pretty tough when you think about it. Dalek Appendages are less snappable then those mirco talking Daleks, or those project enterprise RC Daleks. And the only damage that has been done to my figures over the years is the paint that comes off their noses. If your a Doctor Who Fan CO is the best place for figure collecting (Or Big Chief, the only issue with that is money, LOTS OF MONEY).

    • I like series 7

      July 10th, 2013 - 6:47pm

5 and 6in figures are to big you need a castle to house them all.The new figure size is ideal
and we are getting the new Doctor who collection by Eaglemoss end of August the detail on those is very good.

    • Jordan

      July 13th, 2013 - 4:57pm

My doctors head fell of to which if kids are playing with these could be a choking hazard. Seriously I wouldn’t recommend these figures for anyone under the age of 8 because some kids can be curios to swallow small parts I know because my brother who is 5 swallowed a 5 inch cyberman’s foot. It’s a shame the scale was changed because not many collectors like my self are keen on them and for kids under the age of 8 it’s a choking hazard. 5 inch should come back. I know the last lot didn’t do well but at least give them one more chance.

  • Doctor 909

    June 30th, 2013 - 11:58am

I think wave will be released for Christmas because character will get a lot of money around then if there are new figures and sets out. He reason why they should do this is because pretty much everyone has the full wave.
    Wave 2 hopefully will contain:

The Doctor (without coat/jacket) with open sonic screwdriver
    Clara (NOTD)
    A Whisperman
    River (TPO/TBB) with gun
    Dalek Drone
Ghost ( glow in the dark)

    Playsets
The Bells of St John Office with Exclusive Miss Kizlet
Oswins dream room/ outside cage with exclusive Oswin Dalek

I found Dalek Sec in the Bromley Toys R Us yesterday! They had about twenty figures in stock and he was right at the very back. At first I thought it was a bronze Dalek in shadow but it was what I wanted. It was only my second day of looking after finding nothing at the Entertainer.

Question is, do I sell it or keep it boxed for myself? 😀

      June 28th, 2013 - 7:21pm

To be honest I wouldn’t pay no more than £20.00 for that black dalek because at the end of the day it’s a 3.75 inch figure. Now i’m a fan of doctor who so of cause I would want it but I would never ever pay £250 for a figure. Plus i’m still not keen on the scale due to lack of detail and how fragile they are.

Apart from Forbidden Planet, Online and Toys’r’us these figures need to get to other retailers like Tesco or Argos because I really can’t find these anywhere else. I also find if you are buying a figure online like of eBay you send around £10.00 which is ridiculous. Does anybody know if the figures are actually going to be released somewhere COMMON like Asda or Tesco?

they will do more waves but I think these are just to see how well they sell and what fan’s and collectors think of them.

Nope, waste if time. 10 bronze daleks ans 10 normal cybermen received.

Interestingly though, the boxes they came in said on the box bronze dalek and cyberman without arm gun!

I’m probably just going to return them all for a refund as I already have them.

@ Exterminator – This might seem odd but, can you post a photo of the box?

Seeing the box makes me hopeful that Character will at some point switch to full boxes of the gun arm Cyberman (without blue chest) so I can army build them.

    1000th comment on this topic!

Managed to complete my collection the other day, just trying to find:

    Rare Clara
    Rare Cyberman
    Rare Looped Angel
    Rare Screaming Angel
    Rare Doctor

Trying really hard to find these, getting Black Dalek was actually really easy for me!

I found the Black Dalek too, I may pick up any of the other rares if I see them. The only other one I want is the cyber leader.

Also congratulations of the 1000th comment.

They don’t seem to be out at the ABCShop… or anywhere actually. Some sellers on EBay have them (they probably imported themselves). Hmm.

Even the ebay seller’s seem rather small as well? I would have expected 10 pages of listings at least for these – But there is barely a page & a bit – So obviously stock is not readily available?

Just heard that the FX Daleks wave that was announced isn’t going to happen like they said – apparently there’s only going to be four in the wave. Is this true?
