Class Series 1 DVD

Available to order from www.amazon.co.uk

From the Universe of Doctor Who.

“Time has looked at your faces now. And time never forgets…”

It’s a new term at Coal Hill Academy, and students are preparing for their Autumn Prom. But when the school comes under attack from deadly monsters, four alienated students must form an unlikely alliance to defeat them.

Like all teenagers, these four Coal Hill School students have hidden secrets and desires. They are facing their own worst fears, navigating a life of friends, parents, school work, sex, sorrow – and possibly the end of existence. And this incursion is only the beginning…

Charlie, April, Ram and Tanya, under the watchful eye of Physics teacher Miss Quill, are now charged with a great responsibility by the mysterious alien known as The Doctor: protect Coal Hill and guard against the creatures of nightmare that want nothing more than to find a way through to Earth and take it for their own.

I’m not 100% sure if I like this cover or not. I was hoping for some proper new artwork.

I’m a bit behind with Class at the moment, and haven’t gotten around to watching it yet. Is it any good?

I hope it’s not too expensive, I usually get everything a year late as I like to wait for price drops but it’d be cool to get this!

This is one Doctor Who related DVD that I have no interest in buying. Class ranks among the biggest disappointments of 2016 for me, on par with BvS.

Seriously? Don’t compare a TV show (especially Class) with a movie! Class is so good, you clearly don’t enjoy anything you watch.

So BvS is as bad as class, No BvS was ten times more worse

Well, Her soul appeared in front of charlie in the finale. Miss Quill got charlie out of the way because she thought it would kill him, and ram blocked april’s should from going into april’s body and instead went to the shadow kin’s body

Given the BBC’s lack of enthusiasm for this show, I doubt there’ll be much by way of extras. That said there were enough promo bits and pieces they could probably toss a few in from off the shelf. Depends how much space is left over on the disks too seeing as they’re shoving everything into just a couple discs. Compare to, say, Game if Thrones whose 10 episodes are spread out over 4 or 5 discs.

SJA was mostly vanilla so I wouldn’t rule it out. These ain’t gonna be big sellers.

Sadly, the Back Cover picture featured on Amazon (If correct) show’s this to be a completely vanilla release. I cannot for the life of me understand why the BBC would put a Doctor Who spin-off on a Digital Only channel first for a limited audience? Then when they stick it out on BBC1 put it on really late? I think a vanilla DVD release spell’s the death knell for ‘Class’

I was going to stick with it & hope it improved with a Second Season. I don’t think the BBC had any faith in it at all, so why did they make it? I now think that’s the end of ‘Class’

I can now confirm (As I received the DVD Set today) that this is a completely VANILLA release. The inside cover has no pictures completely blank, no leaflet/booklet or even just an episode list. The BBC really have shown total contempt for this show!

REVISION: Having now watched the series on DVD my previous comment should now be amended to ONE Special Feature. It has a very brief (But poor) Behind The Scenes although no mention of this is on the cover. Considering the wealth of material available from ‘Class’ this is extremely lacking.

There’s been enough pushback on the adult content in Class that I wonder if the final version of the cover will include the “Doctor Who” reference. When Torchwood came out they never referenced Doctor Who on the covers. There will be potential buyers who might think that because it’s connected to Doctor Who it’ll be family friendly like Sarah Jane Adventures was.

You may want to watch a few episodes first. It’s not for everyone and lots of people are bailing on the show after its third episode. Note the 15 rating on the box; that’s the equivalent of a TV-MA rating in the US.

Unless that is sarcasm, its because it is very gory, and i believe there are some “love” scenes in one of the upcoming episodes.

Im not sure parents would want kids buying a DVD that has a dragon skinning people in it?

thx I hav only seen episode 1 and I didn’t think that was too bad – if it gets very gory, violence, or whatever im probably not going to watch it

Well the s word is used, kissing, it’s more a teen drama

    • DWCR

      October 24th, 2016 - 7:49pm

Love scenes also if you catch my meaning

    • Al

      October 29th, 2016 - 4:48pm

It also says TBC so that may change, but there are supposed to be some sex scenes in it and the gore factor alone in the first two episodes is enough to get it a 15 on that basis alone. Also characters swear. And one character smokes cigarettes which is actually enough to score a higher rating under some criteria.
