    Hi all!

Firstly, I must say a massive thank you to Boo Boo for all the hard work that you put into this site – it is a must for a collector and you do an amazing job of keeping us informed.

I’ve been going around some of the London B&M stores (Leytonstone, Barking, Dagenham, Woolwich, Catford, Elephant & Castle etc!) and NONE have any new stock in. Plenty of 3 figure sets left, but no TARDIS or Dalek sets.

I have a sneaky feeling that we’re unlikely to see any new stock in these stores until after Halloween, but I’ll keep checking between times and if anything changes then I’ll let you know!

A suggestion from one of the Whovians who is able to still report the (lack of) stock situation where they are:
Given the sheer enormity of this “oversight” by B&M (and potentially Character Options), is there a way we can coordinate together to find out the number of stores that are void of stock right now (it’s over 100 I know that), plus those stores that have received initial infusions and/or replenishment of the new stock? That way a formal complaint can be levelled at the two companies, with hard evidence of this debacle. Maybe then we’ll get an answer to what’s gone wrong, and someone and B&M and Character Options will get the issue rectified. Because as it stands, we are completely in the dark, with no way of knowing what is happening, or when the new sets will begin to appear in the many areas that have yet to receive them at all. I mean for goodness sake, London and Cardiff are still void of stock! While at the other end you have (for example) Gloucester and Derby who have received replenishment of the new stock. And worst of all, you have the Scalpers, who are probably (or will be) making Bank because for some Whovians they are the only option (those who are tired of waiting, or who cannot afford to keep going out during a Pandemic).
Rant over, but surely B&M and Character Options can’t be blind to how potentially REALLY bad this problem is making them both look?

Firstly once the items are delivered its out of Characters hands and very much down to B&M as to how these are distributed.

But with the talk of petitions and formal complaints i would rather leave that to others if they feel thats the way to go.

We have asked B&M, they did not reply so unless there is news from elsewhere or definite sightings in the void areas its now time to shut this down.

I will re-open it if stock finds its way to areas that have thus far not had any.

I think B&M getting sacks of COMPLAINTS about its products is not the way to go. It’s a chain of budget stores selling a huge range of goods, formal complaints will achieve nothing other than sour the relationship between B&M and CO – particularly at a time when we’re actually getting all new figures like Harry & Romana. My local store rarely stocks the range, but I’ll get the figures I want eventually, petulance will not help.

I live in the Leicestershire area and the nearest one’s to me with confirmed stock is Birmingham or i think Derby. The East Midlands has pretty much had no stock at all

    • Doctorus

      October 12th, 2020 - 5:59pm

Same, without giving too much information on where I live, I live there and, it is pretty void of stock. I called the one at belgrave gate and, I was told they will not have the stock as it is allocated somewhere beyond the range of Leicestershire. Which is; A) Pretty dissapointing and B) Pretty bizarre.

Any luck in other areas outside of Leicester such as Coalville, Loughborough, Market Harborough or Hinckley?

    • Doctorus

      October 12th, 2020 - 7:06pm

Well, I checked at the B&M store in Loughborough last Monday and, they had a couple of 2nd Doctor and TARDIS sets, one 3rd/4th Doctor Companion Sets (July 2020), plenty of Claws of Axos sets and a couple of 13th’s Sonic Wasps (13th Doctor’s Sonic Screwdrivers). The B&M employee on the phone said that, Leicester, Leicestershire, Coalville and Loughborough will not be getting the new wave of figures in stock. The new stock has been allocated to a different B&M store not in the areas mentioned.

Maybe the other 2 not being mentioned might give some hope that they are on the list for stock.

  • Matt Y

Could it be that stores have two seasonal lines out at the moment be a factor? Once Halloween is over and that is stock removed there will be more room for toys for Christmas. Doesn’t match up with the North/South stock contrast. Just a thought.

Well, last time I checked, the B&M at Haymarket had restocked on the previous wave. Unfortunately, I was told that, the B&M stores in Leicester, Loughborough and Coalville will not receive stock for the new sets, at least that’s what an employee on the phone, told me. Which is pretty bizarre.

    • Spacewarp

      October 12th, 2020 - 11:54pm

I don’t know. It’s quite possible there are still Daleks there as I write this, although they went first during the last wave. Ascot Drive is my goto store for Who, because it always has a lot of stock. I suspect this is because it’s on an industrial estate so not easy to walk to. Daleks and TARDISes still seem to go quicker though. Last time i looked there were plenty of 4th and 13th companion sets, and both UNITs.

If you drive up to Derby on the A52 you can do a round trip of 4 good Who-stocking stores – Spondon, Meteor Centre, Ascot Drive, and ending at Ilkeston.

    • Doctorus

      October 13th, 2020 - 9:33am

Man, I hope I get at least the Dalek sets as, the B&M stores where I live, will never have them in stock. And, since you mentioned that Derby had plenty of them, I’m hoping to get at least one of each set.

  • MrWhelan101

Still absolutely no sign of the sets in the Brislington, Fishponds or Knowle stores in Bristol. Haven’t checked the others but I’d imagine its the same across the city and they don’t seem to know if or when they’ll get them.
