Stocks Arrive – B&M 2021 September Sets Information on Product Codes / Barcodes

Stocks have now arrived and are starting to appear in stores.

We have closed comments on all other B&M posts so they can be concentrated here.

At the time of writing option 3 on published store telephone numbers that allowed you to speak to a member of staff has been removed. You could try the main customer service number, 0330 838 9000 and ask to be put through to your local store or try and find out its direct number.

Shown below are the product codes and bar codes. The app is not allowing you check locations at this time.

We strongly advise you make whatever checks you can yourself to check store availability before traveling.

To find your nearest store visit www.bmstores.co.uk or use the map below. Please contact www.bmstores.co.uk if you require more information.

The B&M Map:

This map is a guide only and shouldn’t be used as a definite indication that a particular store has stock

The map shows most stores, if you see any missing please leave a comment. As the app will not allow you to check stock locations at the moment we may use this map to show the distribution pattern and possible stock locations.

If you see stock and take a picture you can send it to [email protected] and we can add it to the map or you can link to an image you are hosting yourself.

This map has layers, if you click on the icon in the blue header at the top left of the map in the you can select which layers you want to see.

A Dalek will be placed to the right of the store concerned but you will need to zoom in to separate the 2 or click off the store location layer.

Please note as the situation on the shop floor is so fluid we will no longer list stock on the map. As far as we can tell the initial delivery for stores that have had stock was for 12 of each figure set and 6 of each Dalek. As you might expect most stores are selling out of Daleks at a faster rate than the sets. Some stores listed have already sold out of all stock

Confirming the presence of not only Keys Of Marinus sets, but also Sensorites sets at the Ipswich, Warren Heath branch (I have e-mailed booboo a photograph of the shelf). As of yesterday there was still nothing present at the Anglia Retail Park branch, and there was nothing in the Carr Street branch as of this morning.
One thing that annoyed me when I was buying one of each of the 3 packs today, was that (unless my memory is playing tricks on me) B&M have upped the price i.e. I thought the 3 packs were originally £14.99 whereas the HOTD sets were £20.00?

Not masses of new information, but:

    No confirmation of stock arrival-
Ewell Road, Tolworth (Surbiton) – none on shelves, no information from staff.
Victoria Road, Ruislip – none on shelves, no information from staff.

Confirmation of stock arrival (but cleared instantly by, almost completely or completely, one individual)-
Argent Centre/Pump Lane, Hayes – fantastic member of staff (I’ll email to commend, as I always do), two boxes on the shelves of all 4 sets yesterday: every item cleared by one “customer”.
Willow Tree Lane, Yeading – again, brilliant member of staff: all sets on the shelves yesterday: one notorious guy clears the shelves of the first few deliveries every year (he is known to the staff- not remotely as in ‘on friendly terms’, as in- and I’m paraphrasing and translating body language- one of those customers who becomes a private joke amongst staff)

So all signs point to a really, really significant and professional scalper in Hayes, free in the day, absolutely sheds of money to invest in stock, and at least as well informed on delivery times and dates as us- so potentially a reader here, lurking amongst us as if a regular person.

As usual, my Pavlovian stress response to these miserable hunts continues, but I can’t devote any more dead time and money to this for a bit, now.
    Good luck!

    (Also, might be helpful:
As soon as they’re sold, the price labels are removed and the shelves filled with other stock until there are new deliveries- so don’t be disheartened by the suggestion of no space for them on shelves- they’re constantly rearranged to match stock available that day.)

ebay is full of professional “scalpers”, not just Doctor Who, everything, but its just Doctor Who that gets singled out here.

The thing is hardly any are registered as a business which they should be, so they run the risk of an HMRC investigation if they are ever picked up and they are starting to hot on this, they are not that difficult to spot.

There have also been retailers that go in and clear shelves, nothing to do with ebay

      September 10th, 2021 - 12:48pm

Checked some of stores across East London today: Romford, Beckton, Barking, Dagenham, Newbury Park and Goodmayes and none of these stores have anything. Also I think the map is missing some of these stores as well.

    • Peter C

      September 10th, 2021 - 12:55pm

Still, it shouldn’t really be allowed. Morally wrong clearing all the shelves, especially when people still haven’t had a chance to even look in their local branch yet. Happens every year I know, but surely they could put a block on one person buying up entire shelves-full? All about money and sales at the end of the day though, but if these people were stopped at source, then the scalpers would reduce/cease to exist on eBay…. therefore giving everyone a chance at a set of each for normal price.

    • booboo

      September 10th, 2021 - 1:08pm

There are people out there who genuinely buy multiples and sell at cost to help people out who cant get them, It was even suggested doing it to help people in the USA and Australia, so how do you distinguish between them.

Determined “scalpers” will just make multiple visits or get a load of mates to go with them and buy a couple each.

In this day and age its also a big ask to expect staff to stop people buying whats on the shelves even if it is multiples.

    • Independently Cross

      September 10th, 2021 - 1:47pm

Youre not at all wrong, Booboo, and I personally think it’s increased even moreso since the onset of the Pandemic.
Scalping issues are oft discussed regarding Hasbro products, too (and, I gather, video game consoles and stuff, collectible cards and trainers/sneakers)- all collectibles now, to some degree, I guess… But I think it’s so regularly highlighted by Doctor Who/Character collectors because these fall under the ‘exclusive’ bracket which obviously automatically makes them more limited, because they’re quite small production runs, too, and because they’re hugely rarer again in that they require lots of physical ‘running around’ as well; so not only are they absolutely prime targets for scalpers, but people really, really feel the disappointment in time, money and loss, in ways some other forms of collecting aren’t quite that same perfect storm. If you’re beaten by a scalper normally, online, at least it’s only cost you 10 minutes at home, so disappointment’s a bit more tempered, perhaps- with these products, in these circumstances, I can see why lots of collectors might focus more on those that create difficulties in maintaining a collection and hobby.
I’m pragmatic, though, and softer than lots of people- so I’d have more forgiveness if there was an unspoken code of conduct that scalpers didn’t fleece too much nor, especially, especially, clear shelves so completely- was just stunned to hear of the scale of the one or two at my locals! So hopefully you’re right and they’re drawing attention to themselves enough to at least reconsider their current operating habits.
Anyway, massive, massive thanks for the way you do this, hugely and creatively evolved this time, too. Really inventive. I’m sure most of us have a good consideration of just how much extra work it must be causing you, and it’s massively appreciated.

      September 10th, 2021 - 2:47pm

I can’t disagree with your comments Booboo. You’re exactly right. I just get twitchy whenever these B & M announcements initially come out due to issues getting certain sets in the past. If I was a bit more patient and less paranoid it would help as my local B & M usually get them in. I think only the Dalek sets late last year and the first Pertwee TARDIS from 2018 I’ve not seen on shelves and had to get off eBay.

    • booboo

      September 10th, 2021 - 2:57pm

The problem is some areas get hit hard by these unregistered ebay sellers and even registered businesses sellers and shops – some have pre sold far more sets than one store is likely to get so they clear multiple local stores so its hard on those who live and shop in those areas.

These people do this for a living so no matter what rules and regs people would like to see they will find away around it.
