Big Chief Studios Tenth Doctor Sneak Peek

Big Chief Tenth Doctor Sneak Peek

Tenth Doctor 1:6 Scale Limited Edition Collector Figure

From Big Chief studios…

We have received such an overwhelmingly positive response to our Eleventh Doctor figure that we felt we needed to relook at our product roll-out plan. We wanted to ensure that our next figure release would prove equally, if not more sought-after. Each and every actor that has portrayed the Time Lord, has brought something unique and captivating to the role. With that in mind, and with careful consideration, we finally came to a decision.

Brilliantly portrayed on screen by actor David Tennant, the Tenth regeneration of the Time Lord first appeared on our screens in 2005. Tennant would go on to play the Doctor for three series plus the TV Specials.

Throughout his tenure, Doctor Who would see it’s viewing figures sour to new heights and the show became a firm fixture of the BBC’s prime time Saturday night broadcasting.

Undeniably a firm favourite amongst both fans and long-time followers of the show, with Tennant’s departure from the role in 2009, many wondered how he could ever be replaced.

As the third release in our line of 1:6 Scale Collector Figures, the Tenth Doctor will feature an authentic character portrait, tailored suit and trench coat, together with his trusty Sonic Screwdriver and signature accessories. A themed display base will complete the package.

Keep checking back at www.bigchiefstudios.co.uk for development updates and behind-the-scenes product sneak peeks.

Weeping Angel 1:6 Scale Limited Edition Collector Figure

“Fascinating race, the Weeping Angels. The only psychopaths in the universe to kill you nicely. No mess, no fuss, they just zap you into the past and let you live to death. The rest of your life used up and blown away in the blink of an eye. You die in the past, and in the present they consume the energy of all the days you might have had, all your stolen moments. They’re creatures of the abstract. They live off potential energy.” – The Doctor

With countless monsters and aliens populating the universe, we wanted to choose a worthy adversary for our Eleventh Doctor figure. A Dalek perhaps? Maybe a Cyberman? After numerous discussions and brainstorming sessions, we kept coming back to arguably one of the show’s most scary creations – the Weeping Angels. The figure is currently at the earliest stage of development, but we have exciting plans for these terrifying characters.

No, the suit is from the 12 inch figure that was about a tenner and his neck is half plain white.

In fact, I reckon they’ll do a big chief studios of every incarnation of the doctor. What do you think of that?

    • Doctorpond393

      September 3rd, 2012 - 12:05am

I’d love the first doctor! The second and third not so much. Fourth yes! Fifth maybe. Sixth yes. Seventh yes. Eighth maybe. Ninth maybe.
I can’t wait to see more images of Amy just imagine how many men will buy her and take her clothes off. (shudders) lol!

    • The Driver

      September 3rd, 2012 - 12:08am

Well you’re in luck! They’re going to be doing a big chief fourth doctor.

    • Doctorpond393

      September 3rd, 2012 - 11:20am

Why do you have a picture of a dalek?

    • The Driver

      September 3rd, 2012 - 6:55pm

Because it’s nice to have your own little icon in your comments because it’s nice to add a personal touch to your comment like booboo. It’s nice to.
NOTE: I do not work with booboo or have anything to do with this site.

    • The Driver

      September 3rd, 2012 - 6:58pm

And like the Tardis icon is associated with booboo, in a way the this dalek can be related to me, the driver. Why don’t you have one and add a personal touch to your comments?

    • MadGuyInATARDIS

      September 3rd, 2012 - 7:10pm

Driver how do you get icons without a background like that? I’d like one too!

    • The Driver

      September 3rd, 2012 - 9:10pm

Type in the google the picture you want an icon of e.g. Tardis. Then go to google images and on the side with the types of search (videos, maps, etc), you will find type of images. There will also be dimensions too. You need approximately 10×10 images. Then click on the images you like the look of and look at the dimensions of it. If it is the one you want, click full size image. It is the link of the image that’s important.

    • The Driver

      September 3rd, 2012 - 9:17pm

You will need to bookmark the link or save it so you can come back to it. Then go to this forum and in comments, before you type your comment, click on image and paste the link. Hope this helps.

    • The Driver

      September 3rd, 2012 - 9:25pm

Alternatively, if you tell me what icon you’re looking like a Tardis, I could find one for you and give you it so you can use. I’ll put a link in one of my comments so you can get it from me (maybe on your collection page (Sam Bentley (Madguyinatardis) drawings)

Any news on the 10th Doctor Dynamix figure…I tried emailing Big Chief and they took 2 weeks to reply and give me an answer on the 11th Doctor realse date instead of answering my actual question – absolutley useless.

Its annoying that they are so quick to give us sneak previews of figures that probably will never see the light of day.

They announced the Dynamix model about a year ago and have delayed the release date 3 times…so far.

    Blue suit and red trainers

Tux with black trainers and black bowtie

Dark blue suit with dark shirt (from Time Crash”)

Brown Suit (battle damaged) (from The End of Time)

      Sonic Screwdriver (burnt out)

      Psychic Paper

Revolver (from The End of Time)

      TARDIS key

      TARDIS key on a string

      3D glasses

      2 more costumes could be:

Space Suit (from The Impossible Planet, The Satan Pit and The Waters of Mars)with helmet and smashed helmet

Pyjamas and dressing gown (from The Christmas Invasion)with Sycorax sword and satsuma

    • dw2005
