As more and more consumers move to digital viewing we will be focusing our efforts on BBC Store, the new BBC Worldwide digital service.

Theodore Maxtible
March 7th, 2016 - 7:17pmThe question is do we wait in the hope the prices drop further come the 29th March or do we just buy buy buy.
Knowing you lot I’m tempted towards the latter. 😀
booboo

March 7th, 2016 - 6:14pmCheers for the heads up, Booboo
That’s a real shame to see the site close down, but I guess if it just wasn’t making enough money, then it’s for the best
Managed to pick up a Doctor Who t-shirt, mug and Trivial Pursuit game for €15
DannyTheNerd
March 7th, 2016 - 6:09pmThey must really be struggling to sell stuff, if they have that low prices. They must be making a loss on some items.
Theodore Maxtible
March 7th, 2016 - 6:07pmJust started shopping here and now it’s going dahm.
booboo
March 7th, 2016 - 5:56pmstrongly advise people to keep checking as they are reducing stuff all the time
Not just Doctor Who across the board lots of bargains to be had here
Trenzalore
March 7th, 2016 - 5:54pmA good portion of my collection I got from BBC Shop, such a shame but these bargains are not to be missed!
I can see their dilemma with DVD vs digital, and they have probably made the right decision but I will miss the low prices and offers. Still need about 30 stories to finish my classic DVD collection but its not like BBC Shop were the only place selling classic DVD’s.
Demdike@CultLabs
March 7th, 2016 - 5:37pmSome excellent prices, picked up the special edition dvd’s on offer, seems rude not to even though i have the original dvd’s, plus some Target reprints and a Sherlock 5″ figure. Oh and the WhoOlogy book.
Really sad to see the shop close. I’ve been a regular purchaser for a few years now.
A Duck
March 7th, 2016 - 5:36pmIs there a code for the BBC shop? Or not because everything is already pretty cheap?
iWhovian
March 7th, 2016 - 5:35pmSo gutted!! . Love the BBC shop. Luckily only have 1 classic dvd to buy as it was the only one not available on the bbcshop website when I ordered my last few the other week. Will be shopping later for a few extra bargains. Can’t say no to a Who Sale!

March 7th, 2016 - 5:33pmCurrent basket 12 items and still not reached the £50 mark 🙂
The Yeti Next Door
March 7th, 2016 - 5:06pmreally sad to see the decline of the show, first no figures now we can see the classic dvds are going(the bbc shop closing are the first step for the eventually end of the range) next i can see the cancelation of the show itself in the next 3 or so years…
booboo
March 7th, 2016 - 5:16pmyou are completely misreading what’s going on here
A Duck
March 7th, 2016 - 4:57pmso the DVDs will still be available from other places right? I hope so as i have only just started collecting…
A Duck
March 7th, 2016 - 4:58pmNevermind, read the full thing.
booboo
March 7th, 2016 - 4:58pmyes although not sure how long some of the classic will last
The Yeti Next Door
March 7th, 2016 - 4:59pmwhich will go first then booboo, the black and whites?
booboo
March 7th, 2016 - 5:18pmi think the longer they have been out on DVD the less likely they are to reprint them after all some have been around for years and the used market will always be flooded with them
A Duck
March 7th, 2016 - 5:18pmWhat classic do you think are gonna go? And why?
booboo
March 7th, 2016 - 5:20pmI dont know but they have been around for years, people are going more and more digital there would always come a time when repressing a new batch would of stories that had been around for years would not be viable
A Duck
March 7th, 2016 - 5:28pmBut does everyone want to go digital? I prefer having a physical collection on a shelf cause it looks like ive actually accomplished something. Im sure other fans are the same right?
The Yeti Next Door
March 7th, 2016 - 5:31pmsame here duck but for joe bloggs who doesnt have the room or care, digital is better – there will always be a physical media market and one would hope big finish stay physical due to the certain variety of fan we all are.
MickeySmith07
March 7th, 2016 - 4:41pmRubbish! I was gonna buy a load of dvd’s for my birthday next month
whotoys
March 7th, 2016 - 4:33pmDoes the BBCSTORE10 code still work
whotoys
March 7th, 2016 - 5:39pmjust realised it is for the new horrible BBC Store. Will never buy from because I don’t want digital copies of classic who. What a year it has been so far the worst year of my life no doctor who, no Sherlock, no BBC shop, no new doctor who figures and it has just been the worst year yet
booboo
March 7th, 2016 - 5:47pmall they are saying is the want to concentrate on their digital store there are numerous other markets to still buy Doctor Who items from
They cant keep repressing new copies of DVD’s that have been round for years in a shrinking market either
They did however seem to be the only place for some items like Xmas decs so we will have the see what happens there
Kirt Alder are about the most unhelpful supplier i have even tries to get info from it has to be said
Anonymous
March 7th, 2016 - 10:01pmKurt Adler I have never had a response from. Considering the items Exclusive to BBC Store US, I’m now getting concerned over the fact that Christmas Decorations available there; may now not appear here? (ie) Orange Dalek, Gingerbread Tardis & Adipose Glass figurines.
Wally
March 7th, 2016 - 4:02pmBooboo, I have half of a complete Doctor Who DVD collection, would you recommend I get the rest now?
booboo
March 7th, 2016 - 4:29pmi suspect many will not be reprinted now so get them while you can
thewhoman
March 7th, 2016 - 4:02pmAlso, are the toy lines going? God I hope not!
booboo
March 7th, 2016 - 4:29pmno not al this is just the BBCshop stopping selling things
thewhoman
March 7th, 2016 - 4:01pmSo DVDs are going? Nooooo 🙁 So many stories I need! Well, we have HMV but when they run out….. Grrr I’m so mad! I hope they start to offer DVDs at a higher price than the downloads on BBC store. Many fans will probably stop watching, especially in other countries due to them relying on DVDs…. This is really upsetting 🙁 Never again will I be able to walk to my local ASDA and find complete series boxsets 🙁
Star Lord
March 7th, 2016 - 4:15pmThe BBC are still making DVDs, just not selling them to us directly, they’ll be available to retailers…
booboo
March 7th, 2016 - 3:45pmthey are reducing stuff all the time that i can see, sad but many bargains to be had here

March 7th, 2016 - 3:40pmmaybe we could start a petition?

APT
March 7th, 2016 - 3:31pmReally shocked by this, another crazy BBC decision. This is really bad news for Who fans as BBC Shop often had great bargains plus free P&P. 2016 really has been rubbish on the Who news front.
Wally
March 7th, 2016 - 3:30pmWill there be a 25% off voucher for one final time?
booboo
March 7th, 2016 - 3:32pmthey are reducing a lot of stuff to half price already, i dont know how they will do it it but i would images the nearer the end gets to more stuff will be reduced if there is any left but thats a risk
ahunter8056
March 7th, 2016 - 3:15pmThis is a complete shock to me! Never in a million years would I expect BBC Shop to close. I thought it was doing plenty of good business, but apparently not. BBC Shop has always been my #1 favourite online store, with a multitude of order in the past few years. Will be sorely missed.
John
March 7th, 2016 - 3:17pmSame here.
booboo
March 7th, 2016 - 3:18pmto be honest with the Aus stores closing and the fact they had not added anything new since Christmas i thought something was up but it will be greatly missed by me and countless others
They have been extremely good to us with offers over the years as well
CG
March 7th, 2016 - 10:39pmYes the Australian store and the ABC Shops all over Austraia too!
Jamie mcrimmon
March 7th, 2016 - 3:14pmOh I loved the bbc shop but I think I will get these titans at £4.19
Kiek
March 7th, 2016 - 3:09pmDoes this mean that there will be no more Doctor Who DVDs?
booboo
March 7th, 2016 - 3:10pmyes, form Amazon etc but the BBC themselves want to concentrate on digital services
Wally
March 7th, 2016 - 3:09pmWhere will I be able to purchase Doctor Who DVDs now 🙁
