Available to order exclusively from www.bbcshop.com

Unseen in the UK for 45 years – marvellously restored and remastered and brought back to life for you to own on DVD.

The TARDIS narrowly avoids becoming engulfed in a cobwebby substance in space. It arrives in the London Underground railway system, the tunnels of which are being overrun by the web and by the Great Intelligence’s robot Yeti.

The Intelligence’s goal is to drain the Doctor’s mind; can the Doctor sabotage the device before the Intelligence’s plan comes to fruition? To celebrate the discovery and release of Doctor Who: Web of Fear, BBC Shop and Dark Bunny Tees have been lovingly working together to bring you a strictly Limited, Exclusively designed T-shirt.

Whisked away to Africa**, location of the discovered tapes designer Alex Chenery has been busying himself on the ultimate design and tribute to the six-part tale unseen on these shores for 45 years. With finishing touches being placed on the designs right now, (we’ve waited this long, we didn’t want to rush!) keep your eyes peeled!

All designs will be screen-printed on a Ring-Spun, Soft Style, Euro cut t-shirt.

**The office we nicknamed downstairs.

i enjoyed the story on dvd as it was new material. However i thought the artwork was a bit naff i thought the bbc shop artwork for outer slipcase was much better-would have prefered that as cover instead! Also very disapointed with the telesnap reconstuction would have prefered animation!!!

I got this on Saturday and watched it straight away. I give the episode 4 stars out of 5 because I thought the story, the acting and the monsters were superb. The only that let me down was the ending. The ending was terrible.

The reconstruction of episode 3 was very good and the special feature was a trailer for The Enemy Of The World – ‘Available Now’ Trailer

    I like reconstructions… and I also like animations…

    But…

    Which is better?

There’s only one way to find out…

Like others, really looking forward to the release of Web of Fear in 2 weeks and whilst I’m disappointed at no extras – we have the episodes back, I know – the question needs to be begged, given that a commentary of episode one has been done and was on the Lost in Time DVD, why couldn’t it have been added for this release? I suppose the BBC will re-release in a few years knowing we’ll buy it again.

I think this DVD will include a animation or at least a recon because if you take a look at the normal DVD cover you will see 2 disc set
on the second disc may be episode 3 or at least more special features unlike “THE ENEMY OF THE WORLD”

I don’t care what people say about The Enemy of the World, I enjoyed it. I’d give it an 8/10. I like how it joins on The Web of Fear. Even though I’ve got the Lost In Time box set, and that it contains episode 1 of The Web of Fear, I haven’t watched it yet (I got Lost In Time for Christmas) because I feel that when I do get The Web of Fear when it , I’ll enjoy it even more. Now, the special features situation, I don’t care about them, as long as it contains a coming soon trailer OR a spoof (like Blue Peter on The Mind Robber DVD) then I’m happ

Yeah but I doubt we’ll get one. No special features at all on TEOTW DVD either which I’m really annoyed about. Got it on iTunes already so why should I pay £14 for a DVD cover, insert and case? I reckon they’ll be special editions of these (possibly as a boxset) in a couple of years time. I’ll either wait till then or when they come down in price on Amazon.

Don’t you want to watch it on a nice big tv, sitting on your comfy sofa, proud to have a limited edition dvd?

      November 23rd, 2013 - 9:32am

Just HDMI my laptop up to my 37″ tv. Still really good quality. You can’t tell me you’re not disappointed to have special features on it? I know I’ll have to buy it again in six months time as a special edition. A box set of both would be nice as they’re back to back stories.

    • skaroman

      November 23rd, 2013 - 6:15pm

But what do you value more? The episodes or the special features?

Lest I remind you, this is the greatest DW haulage since 1992, I’ve just watched the enemy of the world and thought it was brilliant! the only special feature was a coming soon trailer for the web of fear, but I still enjoyed it.

Remember, quality is a lot more important than quantity mr Ollie sir. 🙂 sleep on it ollie.

      November 28th, 2013 - 4:30pm

I’m aware of the significance of the find… That doesn’t mean I’m going to be duped into paying more for something I already have. Once a special edition comes out or it decreases in price on Amazon, then I’ll get it on DVD. You want an animation of episode 3 of ‘Web’ so you too must value the special features that 2Entertain offer. They are exceptional and one of the main reasons the DVD range has been as popular as it has been. A vanilla release of ‘Enemy’ is just an excuse to get more money out of fans.

I bought the itunes version because I couldn’t wait to see it. I then got the DVD, not just to have it on the shelf/watch on TV but also so I could watch the VidFire restored version which wasn’t on itunes.

perhaps they’re not allowed to give out information regarding an animated episode. Perhaps they don’t even know and are just guessing… To be honest, I don’t mind 🙂

It was up for stock. Orginally I had special slipcase Enemy preordered and assumed that was the only one they were doing. I had Web prerordered via Amazon. I checked back like 2 days later though and found the BBC shop had special slipcase for Web as well and yes it was in stock as I bought one. Seems you are just too late I’m afraid!

What I find a little baffling is that they have apparently just found these episodes, yet artwork and release dates are already out, whilst no sign of pre-order for Moonbase and Underwater menace which I thought had been known about for some time!

No the news has been around all week, the BBC obviously found it and made the artworks before it was announced, and then wanted to get the DVD out as soon as possible

    • Some bloke

      October 29th, 2013 - 5:51pm

Nope mr. clever, by the sounds of it work on Enemy and Web began months ago, sometime before june. The news of Underwater menace’s release only came out in september and even though rumours of the moonbase dvd came out in march, they still needed time to animate the missing episodes, so it seems more likely that they would announce dates and reveal artwork for these two before moonbase and underwater 🙂
