Gallifrey Edition Statue 2nd Doctor

Available from www.amazon.co.uk

Patrick Troughton’s portrayal of the Second Doctor is captured at last in a statue of exacting detail.

This is the first in a series of Collector Statues from Underground Toys that will bring you beautiful detailing and incredibly accurate likenesses of characters from “Doctor Who”, the most successful science fiction series ever. Everyone involved in this project has worked meticulously to bring these pieces of history to life in a manner never seen before.

The Second Doctor’s costume is from the storyline ‘The Tenth Planet’ which was first broadcast on 29th October 1966. At the time, “Doctor Who” was broadcast in black and white but the colours used on the statue are authenticated by the many existing ‘behind the scene’ shots.

This piece itself is made from polystone and once set on it’s base, stands 9” tall. It is presented in a high-quality, fully illustrated closed gift box. Masterfully painted and beautifully crafted, the Second Doctor is packaged with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity and is ready to display.

A while back, Product Enterprise started to release a series of statues–nicely done with ornate Gallifreyan bases but they cancelled the line after Hartnell and Troughton. I was understandably irritated. I guess they couldn’t strike a deal with the Pertwee estate.

Anyway, I just measured the Troughton one I have and that is 10 1/2″ including the base. Yet again, a different scale. Guh.

They really should make the other Doctor’s or at least the classic ones anyway.

It certainly is not from 10th Planet or Power of the Daleks. It’s not even from War Games. The trousers are wrong from either story.

    Shoddy and lazy!

It’s done from the same 3D model I think. Those mugs shaped like the Doctor’s heads around the 50th anniversary were too

i have all those mugs but sadly for me the skin tones were widely inconsistent which was great shame as most were pretty good

I saw this being advertised a while ago. Is it just me or does look like a statue of the Character Options Second Doctor action figure?

what was the reason they gave?

    • The Yeti Next Door

      May 5th, 2016 - 4:17pm

no reason but after exactly a week i got an email saying ‘is everything ok with the order’, so i responded saying it was not and they said they run out of stock so i got a refund. i thought it was rather suspicious to be honest but maybe that is the conspiracy theorist in me. i think this looks great so i definitely wanted to get it. hopefully it will be safe this time.

Can I ask what sellers people have been buying them from and if they’ve been ok? Having had a few bad experiences with Amazon sellers even ones with good feedback, I just wondered. I just bought this off seller “real merch”, has anyone ordered from them and if so were they ok?

Cheers Booboo, well I’ve ordered from Star Action Figures before and they were good, but as this seller was £5 cheaper I thought I’d risk it…my postman will no doubt throw it over the wall in his usual style anyway 😉

well the figure is very well protected in the box so hopefully it will be Ok

On a side note when you order online you have an awful lot of protection.

I don’t get the appeal – it’s just a Character Options action figure but without the articulation…

The lack of articulation and nature of the product allows for slightly more detail. People buying this aren’t buying it to play with, they’re buying to have it as a display piece.
