April 2nd, 2026 - 6:59pmAl Dewar is interviewed in the new issue of DWM.
War Chief.
April 2nd, 2026 - 8:16pmOh yes….? Say anything of…..interest….?
The Gun Jumper.
Scotel
April 2nd, 2026 - 10:59pmHe talks about the history of Character and the Doctor Who brand. If you’re looking for information on future figures this isn’t it but he does discuss the change in the markets over the past twenty years and goes in depth into why the 3.75″ range failed (with a few images of prototypes from that range which I’ll leave for people to find themselves).
War Chief.
April 2nd, 2026 - 11:11pmMy heart sank when the 3.75 range was introduced….they would have clashed with all my 5 inch Dr Who figures, so I didn’t buy any…
I was doubly disappointed, as I really liked Peter Capaldi’s first season….

April 2nd, 2026 - 3:35pmMaster Replicas Limited Edition Brass Dalek now up for preorder. Due September – Only 150 Worldwide. Don’t think this will end up in B&M!
Hope it doesn’t tarnish easily as would be a bit difficult to polish.
The ergon
April 2nd, 2026 - 5:51pmAt £500 i dont think so.
Mr. Greel
April 2nd, 2026 - 6:59pmI don’t think so either.
Scrap value for the actual brass used depending on it’s quality is only about £8.00 so even allowing for production costs and import fees etc they’re making some profit if they sell all of them. Can’t see ebay scalpers being attracted to this either!

April 2nd, 2026 - 1:44pmNew dr who mag issue is out (got mine from tesco but sainsbury had it as well) the comic is very short. 16 pages. Small section about the returned episodes fuller articles next issue on them.

April 2nd, 2026 - 3:17pmAlmost expected it would be a short one but the actual issue itself sounds quite interesting as well which is good.

April 2nd, 2026 - 8:02pmSadly subscriber issue has not arrived today, and unlikely to arrive until Tuesday due to Easter post. Disappointing.

March 31st, 2026 - 10:03amI do wish al had been allowed to publish the set details for the year, its a very uncertain time for a lot of people who need to budget.
War Chief.
March 31st, 2026 - 10:25amYes, I was wondering what had happened with that….On the one hand, it would be nice to know what’s coming, but on the proverbial other hand, it might be torture to know that a fantastic Dr Who figure, playset or sonic would be released…..in November…..!
I’d be marking off each day on a calendar…..

March 31st, 2026 - 12:37pmWe haven’t actually had the announcement yet so we’ve got no idea if we’re getting the full lineup or it’s being drip fed again. No timings were given and no guarantees were given.
We won’t know until the first press release hits, don’t jump the gun on it.
daz
March 31st, 2026 - 12:37pmIt would have been nice but in terms of surprises we’d know everything in advance so there would be less buzz on CO socials etc…
If it is modern/nuWho alternating with classic as rumours online suggest it will be a good year for all fans hopefully.

April 1st, 2026 - 3:05pmHas it been confirmed that he hasn’t revealed the entire line at once because he hasn’t been allowed? First I’ve heard of this. If it’s true then it seems like someone higher up than him has more sense on the matter. Revealing all the releases for the entire year would kill the hype for the Online Exclusives stone dead. I’ve never understood the logic of ‘we want to control the leaks…. by leaking it ourselves.’ Like when the BBC made a big news story about John Simm returning in Series 10 simply because it had got out there. Despite it already being leaked, I and many other people would not have known had the BBC not revealed it…. They just damage themselves in an effort to maintain some fake notion of ‘control’.

No, nothing of the sort has happened. Actually from what I gather he recently shared a teaser of their upcoming sonic range so it seems the big announcement is coming. Other toy ranges announce their releases well in advance and don’t have any issues, there’s no reason why Doctor Who would be any different.
I don’t want to come across as rude to anyone but it has to be said (and this goes for all merchandise ranges, not just the figures: the same thing keeps happening with the animations and collection sets too): just because something has not been announced by whatever deadline you have set in your head does not mean something isn’t happening. Until we either have the announcement in hand or until we actually hear from Al that it’s not happening could we please stop jumping the gun and assuming what’s happening one way or the other? The figures are coming, we’ll find out what form the announcement takes when the announcement happens. It has not happened yet, so we don’t know what form it will take. Patience is a virtue.

April 1st, 2026 - 4:09pmWell indeed this is why I ask for confirmation when such things are said Scotel.
Scotel
April 1st, 2026 - 4:29pmWhich is completely fair and to be clear the second part was not aimed at you. People are just being impatient.
pb
April 1st, 2026 - 5:11pmI thought so, just wanted to make it clear I wasn’t intending to add fuel to the fire and always push these people to provide sources for their statements, which they rarely do unfortunately. I’m quite out of the loop so always take things with a pinch of salt until people verify such claims. 🙂 Agree with you completely, they shouldn’t say such stuff as fact when it’s not, it just adds confusion and makes it frustrating.

April 2nd, 2026 - 9:02amIt was reported that Al had said he wanted to do it and was told no.
Scotel
April 2nd, 2026 - 11:38amWhere was it reported? I’ve been following his regular updates and have not heard anything of the sort and certainly not in the past few days to have sparked this reaction.
Nick
April 2nd, 2026 - 2:18pmIt was ages ago, just a side comment he said something like he wanted to do it but Character didn’t. I think that’s probably wise as things will most definitely change in the current climate!
Scotel
April 2nd, 2026 - 2:47pmDo you by any chance know where it was said?
War Chief.
March 30th, 2026 - 11:35pm15th Doctor with vindicator……?
War Chief.
March 30th, 2026 - 10:35amA very good question….! This is now the end of March…..and to paraphrase Shockeye, I am becoming insane for a new Dr Who figure….!

March 30th, 2026 - 10:50amWasn’t the last one only two months ago

March 30th, 2026 - 11:02amTwo months for you…..more like a chronic hysteresis for me…..!

March 30th, 2026 - 12:05pmIn fairness the Tegan set was delayed and we were told at the time this would have no impact on the 2026 releases which were still on schedule at that time so the Tegan figure’s timing shouldn’t have any relation to what’s happening this year.
Al Dewar was on a podcast that came out yesterday and while they were mentioned in passing (they are expecting people will “have questions” when they get announced) the big “news” of the conversation was about international distribution: namely that he had been pushing for stock to be set aside for Australia in the same way that stock had been set aside for the US last year. Australia is one of their biggest markets but gets hurt by the high shipping costs. That’s no guarantee of anything because it will be up to Character’s management and actually finding a distributor but hopefully that will help collectors down under going forward.

March 30th, 2026 - 10:29amDoes anyone know what the next “Vortex Edition” figures are going to be?
daz
March 30th, 2026 - 1:31pmNot guaranteed but i heard on social media it is 15 related again. If it’s just Doctor variant I can’t see it selling well.
War Chief
March 30th, 2026 - 2:09pmIs that ‘guaranteed’ the way Salamander says it……?
Scotel
March 30th, 2026 - 3:50pmThey added the Dalek to the Tegan set because they were concerned about value for money and the Third Doctor and sonic screwdriver did not perform well. I think it’s safe to say it won’t just be a Fifteenth Doctor variant.
daz
March 30th, 2026 - 10:27pmYes, but if it is a 15 variant with something it has to be something really good for it to sell considering 15 and ruby hasn’t sold out yet either.
