Pyramids Of Mars Figures: Mars Set – Pictures

Action Figures: Pyramids Of Mars: Mars Set

This item is available to order on-line from Forbidden Planet or Forbidden Planet International

Released October £19.99

“Your evil is my good. I am Sutekh the Destroyer. Where I tread, I leave nothing but dust and darkness I find that good!”

In this fourth Doctor adventure, the TARDIS materialises on Earth in the year 1911 inside an old priory owned by Egyptologist Marcus Scarman.

Scarman has been possessed by Sutekh, last survivor of the god-like Osirans, who is held prisoner under a pyramid in Egypt by a signal transmitted from one on Mars. Sutekh desires his freedom and instructs Scarman to construct servicer robots – which look like Egyptian mummies – to build a missile with which to destroy the Martian pyramid. The Doctor foils this plan by blowing up the missile.

He then falls under Sutekh’s control himself and is made to transport Scarman to Mars in the TARDIS. Scarman cuts off the signal but the Doctor, now freed of Sutekh’s influence, realises that there will be a short delay before it stops, rushes back and uses the time control from the TARDIS to move the end of Sutekh’s space-time tunnel into the far future. Sutekh, travelling down the tunnel, is unable to reach the end in his lifetime, and dies.

Contents:
1 x Sutekh with jackal head action figure.
2 x Mars Guardian Robot Mummy action figures.

Wouldn’t that just be a Mummy figure again?

That’s a very generous price, and I might get it. However, I’ll only get this if we don’t get another Sutekh. I want one with his mask on.

    • andrew

      September 12th, 2012 - 3:58pm

hm I have to ask this, when a set is released, I know there is a limit of how many they produce, but how long does stock last? Do they produce more if there is a demand?

    • booboo

      September 12th, 2012 - 4:01pm

impossible to tell – some sets are available from months back, even years but others sell out very quickly (eg Davros remembrance set) i think this one will be very popular

    • andrew

      September 12th, 2012 - 4:38pm

Ok, just I was thinking I’l get it next month as i have spent my limit on Transformers this month lol

    • andrew

      September 12th, 2012 - 6:38pm

As you say about the pyramid packaging^^, I wish they would make use of the packaging, it is nice and I do love and keep the backdrops from the sets! It would just be really cool if they did stuff, like the kinda did with the Fendhal set only better. Like make the packaging into something to do with the story and not waste it!

    • booboo

      September 12th, 2012 - 6:42pm

probably comes down to cost and whether its practicable – i much prefer stuff boxed to the clam shells or card backed

The Robot Mummies with the gold bandages are the Guardians of Horus, they appear on the planet Mars itself in the final episode of the story inside Sutekh’s prison.

Remember how the Genesis set had the secret kaled mutant accessory, and the revelation set had the secret swappable Davros hand accessory? Maybe they’re doing that with Sutekh’s mask!

Nice idea. Thats made me more convinced, but CO have been going quite well with accessories, and have mentioned them in the contents of the set. But you are right, with the Genesis set they didn’t do this. And to be fair, the Invasion of time set didn’t mention Stor had his helmet until we saw the pictures. but on the other hand its not pictured. lol, so it could be either way.
