Master Replicas Doctor Who Dalek Saucer

£49.99, Due October 2024. Includes stand.

When the Daleks come, they will come from the skies, in deadly warships that shine in the night. This week sees the debut of Master Replicas’ first ever Doctor Who ship: the Dalek saucer from ‘The Parting of the Ways’. This impressive polyresin model is 21 cm across and was sculpted by Dalek expert Gavin Rymill..

The Daleks used saucers with a similar design in the TV Century 21 Dalek comic strip, but in the 1960s TV budgets didn’t stretch to expensive spaceship models. The classic Dalek ship only made its debut in 2005 at the conclusion of the Ninth Doctor’s only season. The ship was made as a 3D CG model by the Mill. Master Replicas recruited Dalek expert Gavin Rymill to recreate the ships using renders made at the time and careful study of the episodes. The resulting model is available for pre-order now.

They have answered my questions on the MR Facebook page…

“Let’s answer your Dalek Spaceship questions…

There WILL be a stand included! We are still finalising the design and we will show you what it looks like asap.

Same for the box – it’s still being worked on, but a magazine will not be included.

    We are so excited!”

it needs a stand that will show the underneath , there is no sign of any stand with it.

there are some round acrylic display stands on ebay for about £10 worth searching around

Technically this is the Emperor’s flagship, so there wouldn’t be a fleet of them, but I’m being pedantic.

I’ve been waiting for this for nearly twenty years…

P:S I could be wrong, but I believe the saucer is actually the Dalek Mothership seen in the 2005 finale and 2013 Christmas special.

I appreciate there are rights issues but if they were to produce the 60s movie version of the Dalek saucer I’d snap it up like a shot! Such a great 60s design.

Haven’t gone quiet, they didn’t announce since August last year so we have a month to go presumably.

I saw this last night it looks beautiful, the only thing is, are all these ships going to come without stands, as won’t it just have to be plonked somewhere where you can’t see the intricately designed bottom?

I imagine it will have a stand similar to the Star Trek ship range so it will be at an angle so you get to see the detail.

The bottom of the saucer is far more interesting than the top.
