Limited edition numbered Doctor Who collector’s posters up for grabs at Hamleys Stores across the UK

September 2014 will see a very special Doctor Who event take place at five Hamleys Toy Shops in locations around the UK, when a series of uniquely numbered exclusive posters will be available for fans to get their hands on.

hamleys

The posters are the first and only collector’s posters ever created by the producers of the official Doctor Who figures, Character Options. On each poster the entire collection of 3 ¾ inch figures they have released to date are shown. Only 250 of the posters have been produced for the five Hamleys stores (London Regent Street, Glasgow, Cardiff, Dublin and Manchester) and each is uniquely numbered from 1-250 for authenticity.

The poster has been created to celebrate the launch of the latest series of Doctor Who figures, which have been produced to commemorate the new TV series and the brand new Twelfth Doctor played by Peter Capaldi. With fans always eager to get their hands on any unique Doctor Who memorabilia, they are bound to be popular.

To be eligible fans must purchase an item from Hamleys’ Doctor Who collection. The posters will be available as a free gift with that purchase but only while stocks last. There is no minimum spend, but as the gift is so unique it is restricted to one per customer.

Grant Yuill, Marketing Manager of Hamleys commented; “Our free limited edition Doctor Who poster day is a very exciting event for our shops. Doctor Who has so many fans that like to collect the figures and other memorabilia but now with the chance of owning one of these very exclusive posters we expect there to be a huge demand. What’s more we have an added bonus of 25 goodie bags for fans that come dressed in Doctor Who costume. These will be distributed free of charge on a first come first served basis.”

The posters were available from the following stores on the selected dates;

· London Regent Street – 20th September 2014 from 9:30am
· Manchester – 20th September 2014 from 9:30am

Got my poster and Twelfth Doctor figure from Hamleys Manchester today. I wonder if the posters are given out in order. There’s no number to identify which poster it is on the tube, but I thought they’d have had a system to give them out in order, so the first customer receives the 2nd poster, for example (the poster labelled 1 of 250 being held back for charity auction). Mine’s number 162 of 250.

Posting out, knowing there were only 250 of these sold in 5 stores, means the event wasn’t that successful, am I wrong? Or at least not many people turned out…

Hey everyone, I usually read the comments but thought I’d post for once. Can anyone find out if Hamleys would be willing to ship internationally to Canada? Otherwise, can someone order one for me and I’ll pay them back in full over paypal (postage and shipping) included? You guys seem like a trusting lot, I’d really not like to pay those nasty e-bay prices…

(Booboo, I’ll remove this post if it’s not appropriate for the site. Apologies if it is)

No idea but it sounded like they had plenty left. The guy in the phone was a forum user lol when I asked if they had any left the first thing he said was ‘are you from the forum?’ Lol and ensured me it was the brand new 12th doctor figure not the regenerated. I didn’t even have to ask. He said people have been calling all day and they have been able to provide every caller with a figure and poster. So it sounds like they have plenty. It was £12 for the figure with poster which included postage.

    • Exterminator

      September 23rd, 2014 - 2:42pm

She didn’t say how many posters just said “some left”. If I were you I’d phone and get them to post a 12th Dr figure and poster to you whilst they still have them. It’s only £3.95 p&p.

    • Chris

      September 23rd, 2014 - 2:46pm

Do you think they would just let me reserve them though? If I’m going in in a couple of days time then it saves me the p&p, plus if the Doctor figure’s quality control is a little dodgy then if there’s any left I can swap it for a better one.

It looks like they’re using a different head sculpt on Peter Capaldi than the one on the regeneration figure. No idea why they’d do that. The regeneration head looked great, just like Capaldi. This one looks a little like him but not much. Are they likely to do a 5 inch Twelfth Doctor figure?
