This and the Dalek were not very well made. App was buggy. Unless you really have to have one I would avoid.

DON”T BUY ONE! I opened the box and when I went to put the batteries in realised there was a metal piece missing from the battery cover, so NO POWER. Not that it really matters because there is nowhere you can download the app to drive K9. All in all a bloody expensive paper weight. : (

I bought one for my daughter who got it for Christmas and we can’t get it moving either. We have tried on several devices as I thought there was something wrong with my bluetooth on my brand new phone but can’t get it to move. It lights up and connects to my phone but it will not move. I have tried 2 lots of brand new batteries and nothing. We followed the instructions and also followed instructions on a YouTube video and nothing is happening. The back lights flash and the nose says that it is connected and on my phone it says it is connected but the K9 will not move, how disappointing and so frustrating. My 9 year old daughter is so upset that her Christmas present is not working.

No point in wasting money on this toy, or presumably the Dalek remote controlled toy either. Neither Android/Google or Apple Stores have the application required to operate them and longer. The links from the Zeon website do not function either.

The app needs to be updated with the new iOS 11 so far it’s only working on androids but not iPhone please update the k-9 app. Why sell this product if you can’t keep up because the box falsely advertising the product with instructions saying it’s compatible with “iOS 4 and later”

Hi all, i bought one. It is 1/4 scale (i did not check yet how good the scale is), the color is too light blue. It functions well with my Wiko Lenny (Android 4.4.2). It’s made of plastik, you CAN NOT remove the sidewall, that image does not belong to the product! Driving is ok, the ears wiggle only when it’s driving. It can play 8 sounds i think, and you may use it as (lousy) bluetooth speaker. The nose extended one times, never retracted again and even if manually pushed back, it will not shoot out again. Maybe mine is defect. The lights on the keypad flicker randomly, all together, driven by one RGB-LED.
So i would say, nice to have for any Whovian, but a bit expensive for the quality.
    Best regards Michael from Germany

no via mobile broadband so virtually anywhere

with average use they will last me a day then i just recharge via usb , i have a car charger as well

I have an iphone 4 which is £14.99 a month including the phone, unlimited internet (and i use it a lot) and so many calls and text free, i have never needed to “top up” but i hardly ever use the phone.

it just depends on what you do, for me its brilliant, i have a memory like a sieve so the alerts and alarms are great, as are the maps if you need to find somewhere, obviously been able to check comments (and reply) and check emails when I’m out in invaluable.

Lol someone tell me about smartphones..apart from controlling a dalek or k9 what use are they….I still use my pay as you go phone bought in 1995 for a few quid from tesco and rarely use that….

whats the difference between using a phone and a remote control unit ??

i dont know much either but i find mine very useful ( and I’m not a techno person)

I actually hardly ever use mine as a phone

As they connect to the internet when you are out and about you can check emails, leave (check) comments etc useful for me

they have built in alarms, timers if your cooking, note pads of your out and think of something, reminder alarms, calculator and of course the time.

      all sorts

The have apps where you can check the weather play games, loads and ,loads of stuff

if you travelling you can see live train updates or road problems, it has maps as well

its an app that controls K9 so they can do updates with different phrases etc

its basically your smart phone “talking” via K9

That’s odd the finished on we saw at the toy fair was considerably bigger than that

It takes 4aa batteries to start with which wouldn’t fit into that

Do you have to pay for the app too or is it free? I definitely want this & the Dalek, just hoping they’ll be cheaper than £69.99 each from another retailer, especially as FP want £5.50 on top of that for delivery. 🙁

Several years ago (late 90’s) I built a “life size” K-9 with foam core board and mounted on an RC off-road truck… the ears moved and it all lit up… even got the laser to move in and out by using a floppy disk motor… It was a hand held remote control but I put some coils on the side walls and it would automatically “follow me” through a convention if I didn’t walk too fast or make sudden crazy moves… I had a simple display screen on the side but the “voice” portion never really worked right…

I might have to try it again with the arduino/ raspberry pi options now available…
