You cna usually find the items on www.amazon.co.uk or www.ebay.co.uk

The Seventh Doctor’s iconic appearance was designed by Ken Trew in April 1987, ready for McCoy’s debut in Time and the Rani. He battled Daleks and Cybermen, braved Paradise Towers, played chess with Fenric, and performed at the Psychic Circus for the Gods of Ragnarok until the costume made its last appearance in 1989’s Survival.

Sylvester McCoy’s Seventh Doctor briefly tried a Napoleon-inspired look, a mortarboard with cape, and the clothes of four of his predecessors, but he quickly settled on this iconic jumper that underlines the show’s main concept: Doctor… Who?!

Day of The Doctor DVD and Blu-ray

books-thevault300Doctor Who: The Vault: Treasures from the First 50 Years

Named in Guinness World Records as the longest running science fiction TV series in the world, the BBC-produced television program, Doctor Who, will celebrate its fiftieth year in 2013. Since its conception in 1963, the show has become a major part of British pop culture and has continued to garner new fans with each generation.

The series centers on the adventures of the main character known simply as the Doctor, who is a Time Lord—a time traveling humanoid alien—who explores the universe in his TARDIS, a telepathic time-and-space-travel machine that, on the outside, resembles a classic blue British police box. Over the years, the Doctor has been accompanied by a wonderful array of companions who have helped him battle his enemies and save civilizations.

    • booboo

      April 10th, 2012 - 7:33pm

the picture used on the packaging was someone else’s work which they (Monopoly) evidently did ask if they could use.

The image was therefore removed immediately from here and retail sites but its still around in some places

given the rumots of a new dr this xmas there could be the pic of her in december(yes, apparently the next dr is going to be a girl!!!)

      April 11th, 2012 - 6:22pm

That was an April Fools joke and the other rumours about a female Doctor haven’t been confirmed at all. Matt Smith isn’t going anywhere yet.

    • Chris

      September 11th, 2012 - 11:22pm

I’m already making my very own calendar right at this very moment. December is a tricky one, though. It either could be all the Doctors, or the Companions, or the Daleks, or even the Master. All complete with a 50/TARDIS icon, like the DW one, only golden.

    Looking forward to this calendar!
I bet each month will go up in order of Doctors like:

    Jan – 1st Dr
    Feb – 2nd Dr
    etc

And the December will have them all togeather.

I hope that’s how it goes anyway. I would certainly buy it!

    • Mumble5557

      April 10th, 2012 - 6:59pm

No I personally think it should go like this:
      Jan-First Doctor & All Companions
      Feb-Second Doctor & All Companions
      March-Third Doctor & All Companions
      April-Fourth Doctor & All Companions
      etc
And then like you said for December all the Doctor’s with all the companions and some monsters.

It’ll probably be an Eleven Doctors calendar. With every Doctor from January-November and then Decembr has all of them. Or the other way around, January has all of them and February-December has all eleven seperately.

    March 31st, 2012 - 9:51am

Does anyone else find it destressing that they animate lost eoisodes of dw on dvd, getting the message out about lost episodes should be at the top of the BBC’s To do list!

    • booboo

      March 31st, 2012 - 9:53am

It is, there has been extensive research over the years to try a locate them

    • Mr Who 63

      March 31st, 2012 - 10:04am

Booboo, has there EVER been any locations on Shada.
And i recently found it VERY unthankfull of a fan saying he had the tenth planet last episode.
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTujXxXdaXc

    • booboo

      March 31st, 2012 - 10:08am

there have been many hoaxes, some very good ones

How do you mean Shada? – that is incomplete because it was never completely filmed because of a strike

    • Give me a Dalek any day

      March 31st, 2012 - 10:08am

It’s good that there are sets such as Lost in Time though. The only annoying thing is that it makes you want to see what happens next when you know you can’t. Would you agree booboo? 🙂

    • booboo

      March 31st, 2012 - 10:11am

totally agree we have the audios (and we only have most of those because of one person) but its not the same

Many of these lost stories would be worth a fortune the the BBC now especially episode 4 of the 10th Planet and Power and Evil of The Daleks

    • Mr Who 63

      March 31st, 2012 - 10:12am

I never knew Shada was’nt completed, and Give me a Dalek any day, in totally agree, i would recomend if you REALY want to see the next episode, on DailyMotion, fans have made lost episodes into their original form by using surviving clips and motion pictures.

    • Anonymous

      April 10th, 2012 - 8:43pm

I think the animations are a good option for the restoration of episodes. Obviously they are not the best option (I’d rather have the actual episodes any day) but not every episode exists, we know one episode is definetly lost forever (The Daleks’ Master Plan episode 7 which was never copied) so if it can provide a way of “seeing” these lost episodes then I’d say they should do it.

    • gordon

      April 10th, 2012 - 10:34pm

I agree that animation is the best way and i know we are getting reign of terror animated. I think ice warriors and tenth planet will follow after that. But for stories like moonbase and crusade that was on lost in time it will depend on how reign of terror sells. Anything more than 3 episodes will possibly be too costly budget wise or too time consuming (the 2 eps of reign of terror alone will take a year)

    • Commander Strax

      April 11th, 2012 - 11:44am

      that video is so sad

    • Mr Who 63

      April 21st, 2012 - 7:41am

Sad about the daleks master plan — yes — if animation is the only way then yes, i will listen, BUT IM NOT GIVING UP! 2 entertain should make second releases with subtitles explaining whats happening in the picture/audio, cause just think what would happen if the pictures and audio went missing!!

  • Black TARDIS

    March 17th, 2012 - 11:16pm

Bets that BBC will attempt to start airing 50th anniv either 5:16pm or 5:17pm (can’t remember which was the time in which an unearthly child pt 1 was 1st aired) so that its exactly 50 yrs of doctor who

    • Mr Who 63

      March 31st, 2012 - 9:32am

Yeh! They should bring the 80s Console room and then, accidentally the TARDIS lands at TOTTERS LANE ( as in an unearthly child, and rememberence of the daleks )

  • Dalek of Doom

    March 10th, 2012 - 6:36pm

May I just say I am beginning to worry A LOT about the 50th Anniversary in 2013! I looked at the annual front cover for 2013 and thought – it doesn’t look special and it doesn’t even say it’s the 50th Anniversary Annual! Worried, guys?

    • booboo

      March 10th, 2012 - 6:39pm

no need to worry, annuals are always way behind events, they bring them out early for the Xmas market so there simply wouldn’t be any 50th info available yet for them to put in it

  • the astronaut of death

    March 8th, 2012 - 4:05pm

i know but it would be worth it

    • gordon

      March 11th, 2012 - 11:41pm

I dont think that will ever happen. We are talking Over 150 discs at least. With the bbc pricing policy i can see that costing well over 1000 pounds at least. Cant see many sane fans being able to fork out all that when you can get a once in a lifetime holiday abroad for that same money

    • Mr Who 63

      March 31st, 2012 - 9:35am

Maybe 2 entertain will bring out two boxsets:
Begginings ( all doctors first episodes – please help find the power of the daleks! )
and endings ( all the doctors last episodes )

    • Mr Who 63

      March 31st, 2012 - 9:41am

they should have two boxsets every doctors first episode ( IF THEY FIND POWER OF THE DALEKS ) and every doctors last episode.

    • gordon

      April 18th, 2012 - 1:53am

They are planning something special for the 50th aniversary but it wont be box sets for the first and last episodes. Im kind of expecting for 2013:

      1. ambasadors of death in colour (if its not out by the end of the year)
      2. Mind Of evil in colour
      3. Terror Of The Zygons(Something special for it is being planned but its not CGI)
      4. Tenth Planet (with hopefully ep 4 animated) and possibly Galaxy 4 ep 3 as an extra
      5. Ice Warriors (with hopefully eps2 and 3 animated)

    • gordon

      April 18th, 2012 - 2:06am

      6. Underwater menace with eps 1 and 4 animated (if the budget is not there for animation put ep 2 in with ice warriors
7.Galaxy 4 if its not with 10th planet with eps 1,2 and 4 either animated or reconstructed in some form depending on budget.
I also feel they will possibly pad out the rest of the year with revisits.Katy manning let slip that she was recording talk for an axos dvd and im thinking it wont be the only one.

    • gordon

      April 18th, 2012 - 2:27am

I would also like for them to give The crusade and moonbase revisits but as long as they have the budget for animation but that would be way after 2013 and is off topic. As for finding power of the daleks i would love to happen but being a realist the odds of finding all 6 episodes are very small indeed. We might find an episode or 2 but all 6 i just cant see it.

It could have 8 discs all containing 8 episodes each.

I don’t think there will be a multi Doctor story with more than three Doctors.

The first three incarnations of the Doctor and the 9th are not available because they’re no longer with us and Christopher Eccleston has stated he WILL NOT play the Doctor EVER AGAIN. ❗

What really would be better is if David Tennant and Paul McGann came with Matt Smith for a special, perhaps involving the Timewar, and the 8th Doctor can wear that new outfit that was seen at a convention (Armageddon) and it would be so cool ! 😀

Sylvester McCoy is very keen on the idea of the surviving Doctors playing other parts, they could actually do stories involving everyone inc companions

Star Trek deep space 9 did an episode something along those lines which was very good

rule 1: the cast and crew of dr who lies (Christopher Ecclestone)

    • Anonymous

      April 10th, 2012 - 8:38pm

There is a difference with Christopher Eccelston, after a bit of a fall out with the writers and directors over their treatment of some lower members of the crew (meniotning the props and makeup departments in particular) he refused to do a second series and refused to ever be involved with the show again.

It’s a great shame but the reasons are fair enough, it might not have been RTD who did it but the people who worked alongside him were responsible for ruining any chances of bringing back one of the Doctors in future.

its going to be a series split in two like last year, part 2 is next year though 🙁 all the remaining doctors in one ep is a rumour at the moment, i would love it to happen though.

      March 7th, 2012 - 10:06pm

At the moment it will be a full series, regardless of what a certain head of BBC One claims. Some of it will broadcast in 2013 but not because of a split of any form unless something goes disastorously wrong in the production.

Rumours about that they might be making ‘An Unearthly Child’ in full colour and that is where I got the DVD idea from.
The 5o years action figure set would feature unreleased figures and most wanted from the classic series.

    • gordon

      March 7th, 2012 - 10:29pm

I can squash the rumours about a possible colour version of an unearthly child right now and say there absolute no truth to that rumour. Restoration Team have said multiple times they have no plans to recolour any 1960’s serial as it wasnt recorded in colour or made for colour. Plus the time and cost of it would be best spent else where as Every shot and frame would have to be coloured in individually as no chroma dots exist unlike the surviving b and w pertwee eps which do have chroma dots
