3.75″ Variant Wave USA / UK / Australia Orders Update
USA / Australia to get 3.75″ Variant Wave
All six figures are now available in Australia from www.popcultcha.com.au
What will they cost…
All six figures £45.27 + Post to UK £10.58 = £55.85
That’s £9.30 a figure
If customs charges apply £79.50 = £13.25 a figure at worst
Figures are now available individually from www.whona.com (Most now sold out)
All 6 figures will cost you £70 (11.66 each) to send to the UK. If customs charges apply add an extra £14 making a total of £84. That’s £14 a figure.
Is is not economical to have individual figures shipped.
Please check UK postage rates to see if they suit your budget.
UK / USA customers can also order now from www.bigbadtoystore.com
There may be others so its up to you!
What it will cost you (please check your own figures, dont take this as gospel)…
At best
All 6 Figures $69.99
UK Post $25.00
total $95.00 which is £60, works out at £10 per figure including post
At worst if charged import duty and costs
£60+vat £72 +£8 Handling fee = £80 = £13.33 per figure
According to underground toys facebook page the USA are to get all the chase figures so sought after in the UK as a single variant wave. This has already been offered to retailers.
They are also now listed on an Australian wholesale site.
Apparently this is because these variants were never included in deliveries overseas.
UK buyers however have never been able to go on-line and buy these individually anywhere other than for highly inflated prices with many examples being taken out of the chain by retailers and put straight to ebay.
As there is no news in the UK on this (the variants have never been “officially” acknowledged here) we can only assume this move is exclusive to them.
If you are considering importing please bear in mind you may have to pay import duty and costs.
Images are mock-ups. There are no official images available at present
You can Search Ebay for “Rare” figures or Search Ebay for “Chase” figures to find them.

November 29th, 2013 - 9:11pmbooboo if I ordered this and the doomsday set from popcultcha would I get charged custom charges twice?
booboo
November 29th, 2013 - 11:03pmnot if they are in the same delivery, if there not and arrive separately yes you could get charged 2 lots of RM handling which is £8, the VAT would be the same any way
we really get stuffed with this in the UK, most people overseas can order from the UK and claim the 20% VAT back with no import charges.
Nathan
November 30th, 2013 - 5:44amThanks booboo
Nathan
December 1st, 2013 - 7:22pmbooboo I ordered this and the doomsday set today. When do you find out if you have to pay custom charges (I have never ordered from abroad before)
booboo
December 1st, 2013 - 7:55pmwhen it gets to the UK if it gets picked up you will get a card from the PO informing you of them, you can then pay it on-line or go to your sorting office and pay it there and pick up the parcel at the same time
Nathan
December 1st, 2013 - 7:25pmBy the way the popcultcha site shows the old style doomsday set on the website. Will it be the rereleased updated set that will be sent?
booboo
December 1st, 2013 - 7:53pmyes it will, Underground Toys are using old (and in some cases inaccurate) promo images for all the Diamond classic sets
Nathan
December 1st, 2013 - 8:26pmThank you again booboo, sorry for the inconvenience

November 27th, 2013 - 6:39pmBooBoo who is the best for cheap postage but fast? ❓
Radburn
November 27th, 2013 - 9:31pmThere aren’t any:
CHEAP Postage = Waiting £15
EXPENSIVE Postage = A Week £30
The more Expensive route is also more likely to get stopped at Customs because it is usually Tracked

November 26th, 2013 - 9:25pmIs it possible to find these figures in shops ❓
booboo
November 26th, 2013 - 9:27pmif your lucky yes, that if you have any shops to go to that stock them, which we dont

November 26th, 2013 - 10:33amThanks for the extra link Booboo, i’ve taken a chance and bought the entire wave!
Jamie
November 26th, 2013 - 10:01amIm seriously considering this. Looks like http://www.popcultcha.com.au could be the cheapest?
booboo
November 26th, 2013 - 10:05amyes, although delivery may take a while on the cheaper option (3-4 weeks) and bear in mind you may get caught for import charges – still way cheaper than here at the Moment if you want them.
Jamie
November 26th, 2013 - 10:13amJust found a discount code that takes the price down to £41.15 Think im going to order…
booboo
November 26th, 2013 - 10:18amgo for it
Jamie
November 26th, 2013 - 10:40amDone it! It would be nice if I didn’t get any customs charges, but that would be unlikely.
booboo
November 26th, 2013 - 10:41ameven if you do its still worth it
Radburn
November 26th, 2013 - 1:01pmWhat’s the Discount Code?
Gargan7
November 26th, 2013 - 3:50pmIs the discount code 13SAVE?
Jamie
November 26th, 2013 - 6:53pmYes that’s it! Takes 45.27 down to £41.15. Its not a massive saving and there’s still postage and customs but every little helps!
CG
November 26th, 2013 - 9:45amCan someone please tell me if these are still rare or if they are not?
booboo
November 26th, 2013 - 9:49amIn the UK yes, IN USA and AUS no, you can order them set easily, once sold out thought they are gone so maybe come more valuable after that
Just ordered the sfx wave 2 from pop cultcha as well, in stock and you cant even pre order them in the UK yet
CG
November 26th, 2013 - 9:52amWow, that is weird that they are in stock here and not in the UK. I often order of Popcultcha as I live in Aus and I may get the set of varients even though they are not rare here. Thanks booboo.
booboo
November 26th, 2013 - 9:55amThe variants are one off run, once gone they may become more sort after, Clara is a great improvement form the original release as well
CG
November 26th, 2013 - 10:32amThanks again, I think you’ve persuaded me.

November 25th, 2013 - 7:11pmReceived my 6 figures from WhoNA today. Delivery from the States in less than a week, really well packed, case fresh figures and Customs friendly ;). If your on the fence about these my advice is to do it you won’t regret it. It’s just a pity that CO couldn’t release these probably in the U.K.
booboo
November 25th, 2013 - 7:28pmI am so impressed as to how much better Clara looks as well
Mels
November 26th, 2013 - 9:55amWhoNA are an awesome store… they cater to fussy collector’s too. If you ask them for perfect packaging they’ll dig through their stock and give you what you want. 🙂 Not many stores do that.
booboo
November 26th, 2013 - 10:02amyes just got a second delivery from them this morning, ordered many things from pop Cultcha as well
Its actually rather sad for me in a way that i am spending more supporting USA and Australian retailers than the UK ones at the Moment.
booboo
November 25th, 2013 - 9:45amwow got my six rare’s from whona in less than a week, now that’s service

November 21st, 2013 - 10:04amI wish some rival company would get licencing from the BBC and concentrate solely on doctor who figures and merchandise, whose heart was not just in it for the profit but for the fans. Seems a naive statement to make i know but its just wishful thinking to believe we will ever get the figures we really want.
booboo
November 21st, 2013 - 10:22amto be fair Alasdair Dewer is a big fan and would love to make every figure possible if he could
its the market that seems to be the problem, or lack of it
The classic figures should be timeless and with all the worldwide exposure you would have thought the market would be bigger than ever.
Anonymous
November 21st, 2013 - 11:47amWhy did he not do hardly any from series 6
booboo
November 21st, 2013 - 11:48ambecause the big retailers didn’t order them, that’s why you only got variants of figures they had already made, not any new ones
Anonymous
November 21st, 2013 - 5:51pmThe probably didn’t buy them because there was n new ones to buy
RexisnotyourDoctor
November 22nd, 2013 - 8:40amCharacter were very, very good to us for a while – they took a big gamble in deciding to launch classic figures in the first place – which is what makes the current state of affairs all the more frustrating.
I keep trying to remember the glory days whenever they pull one of their more recent cynical marketing ploys, but it’s getting harder to do so when they work over the loyal UK fanbase in favour of the US market. I agree, maybe time for the licence to go to another manufacturer.
THE ERGON
November 25th, 2013 - 11:22amThe 3:75 inch figure range has hardly given people the incentive to want to go out and buy ,especially new fans. the way they were talking, especially given the amount of shelf space saved, we were going to get a whole array of figures, old and new, and until peter capaldi takes over and they refresh the range, seems unlikely now. Any news on that snowmen set?

November 19th, 2013 - 10:00pmI hear Dewar has left Twitter. In light of this latest stunt, I’m not surprised. If I were him or any of the other supposed CO ‘ambassadors’, I’d be keeping well away from any of the UK fan/collector sites at the moment.

November 20th, 2013 - 4:04pmI heard January-February 2014.
Radburn
November 20th, 2013 - 8:32pmIf you Ordered from the Bigbadtoystore they said Pre-Order for December. I would expect them to get these in late December & as their postage is the cheapest (& will take a couple of weeks) I presume early January 2014 for delivery. They may get stock sooner & things could change?

November 20th, 2013 - 8:56pmmine were despatched from whona today, have left another set on order with badtoys just in case.

November 20th, 2013 - 9:11pmAs you say Booboo – Whona actually have them in stock, it’s the £30 postage I can’t get my head around?

November 20th, 2013 - 10:04pmAt big bad toy store I picked the $35 postage so it will take 2-5 days and be trackable

November 20th, 2013 - 11:48pmThen you might as well have Ordered from Whona instead of waiting…

November 18th, 2013 - 8:12pmPostage works out about £15.94 for all 6 figures and the figures work out about £43.76 for the 6.

November 17th, 2013 - 11:19amthere needs to be a john hurt and peter capaldi 5 inch figure! are they going to do this or do a 3.75 inch instead! and there needs to be a new 8th doctor figure for his new outfit! CO needs to do these figures this year! Who else agrees and does anyone know when if they do, release them or have plans for them?
Connor
November 17th, 2013 - 11:25amWe also need a new 11th doctor outfit and a clara 5 inch figure aswell! And it would be cool to have the new console room to put a john hurt, david tennant and matt smith to recreate the 50th anniversary scenes! CO has been disappointing for the 50th and we havent got much from them this year! I dont even like the 3.75 inch range i preferred the 5 inch figures better!
AlexanderOP
November 17th, 2013 - 7:02pmIf Matt Smith regenerates in the 50th Anniversary Special then they definitely need to make a special 5 inch set based on it. Could include John Hurt War Doctor, Matt Smith, Five inch Clara, Peter Capaldi Regeneration Figure. Would be great.

November 15th, 2013 - 2:46pmHere is the reply I got from my email to character.
Dear Mr Higgins
I write in response to your recent e mail which outlines your disappointment with information you have been provided on our Dr Who range of products.
Firstly, I would like to advise that not everything placed on forums or Dr Who sites are reliable and any rumours should be taken with a pinch of salt until Character Options Limited officially release details.
We have no official release information or product details to release at this moment in time on rare figures and I can only advise you to check our website or twitter account for updates.
I hope the above fully answers your query and many thanks for your interest in our products.
Regards
booboo
November 15th, 2013 - 3:00pmWhat rumours? – we dont do rumours here just facts
Can you post exactly what you asked them?
The facts are the entire wave of chase figures are available to order in the USA for their customers at the normal price of £40 -£45
No where in the UK are they, or have they ever been available to order either as a complete wave or individually at that price
I am sure UK customers would rather support the UK economy and retailers than send their money overseas.
The Big Freindly Button
November 15th, 2013 - 4:00pmHere you go.
Message: I am writing to you because of one of the problems I have encountered, it has come to my attention that Undergroundtoys are distributing the rare doctor who figures in general release in the US and Australia, and yet there has been no news to why they have not been released here. I have also been lead to believe from various sources that they may be an exclusive to them. I personally am a little shocked and saddened by the development even if it has not been confirmed by you or underground toys, to this end if it becomes known that they will not be released in the Uk I would like to know and the reason why this is. I find it quite unfair that one region of the world be allowed figures that the British public have been trudging over the country to find and then being let down and for them to be able to access them without having to encounter the problems that the latter has faced. It is known that Doctor Who is a British show, and yet it is the British who are being kicked in the teeth. But like I have stated the news that the figures are not being sold in the uk has not been set in stone so I do hold out hope, because the last thing I want to have to do is pay import charges for a figure that should be in this country in the first place.
If you have any information that you could share it would be a great help not just to me but the many other member of the orginal fanbase of Doctor who. Your figures are the best I have ever had the pleasure of owning and I would hate for that to go sour.
Yours sincerely Luke Higgins
